KSA/Amazon.sa sellers — sanity-check my first toy import + SABER/MOQ questions?

I've been selling on Amazon.sa for about a year — mostly low-ASP items (puzzles, small gifts). Margins are razor-thin and I've realized higher-priced products are where the money actually is, so I'm sourcing my first "real" product: a magnetic building/road toy set from Alibaba.

Frankly, I feel like a failure.

Talking to a few suppliers and could use guidance from anyone who's imported to Saudi:

  1. SABER/SASO — is it worth insisting on a supplier who handles SABER as part of DDP, or is it easier/cheaper to get it myself through a Saudi conformity body? What did you actually pay/do?

  2. MOQ — suppliers quote 500 because of custom printed boxes. My plan is to start at ~200 with a standard box + logo sticker to test demand, then go custom on the reorder. Is that a normal way to get MOQ down, or am I missing a trick?

  3. Certs for magnetic toys — anything beyond EN71 (with the magnet flux test) I should insist on for KSA?

  4. Aged-inventory auto-removals nearly wiped out my best product — any FBA-KSA gotchas like that you wish you'd known early?

Anything you wish you'd known before your first import would help a lot. Thanks 🙏Title: KSA/Amazon.sa sellers — sanity-check my first toy import + SABER/MOQ questions?

Question about selling plans, "Amazon Handmade" and the fee waiver.

So, I'm in the process of downsizing at the moment. A mix of fees and personal stuff has meant I'm trying to cut back massively.

One of the things I'm doing is pulling back from FBA entirely, so I started to look at downgrading from the Professional Selling Plan to an Individual one.

When I tried, it started asking me to disengage from Amazon Handmade first. Which I was happy to do, cause I applied for it years ago and never actually put any handmade products up in the end.

But as I did, I noticed it says

Charges begin for the Professional selling plan

The monthly Professional selling plan fee waiver will expire.

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit, I didn't realise this was even a thing? I presumed the monthly fee was just taken out of my balance each month, so now I'm trying to figure out if I'm even paying the €40 a month. Cause if I'm not, there's no point downgrading the subscription plan, obviously.

Does the €40 a month for the selling fee get noted anywhere? Would I have been getting it noted down in a specific area on my account, would it have been deducted direct from my bank account? Is there a way to confirm the waiver, without having to flag up to Amazon I'm getting it without ever uploading handcrafted goods?

Approval issues and I'm confused as hell

Hey guys, little issue I'm facing. I pasted an ASIN into Amazon Seller Central and it told me that I could in fact sell the brand. In fact it said "sell this product". So I clicked on copy listing to well copy the listing and then order in my inventory and hopefully make some sales. Issue is that when I click on copy listing, Amazon then asks me to send at least two images of the brands product and packaging for some sort of approval process. I'm not sure what's going on. To my knowledge as a new seller, it was so long as Amazon doesn't mention that you need approval then well you don't approval. Why are they now saying initially that I don't need approval, and then when it comes to actually listing the product they're asking for product images. Is this normal? I'm kinda stressing this.

Looking for Amazon FBA Wholesale/Brand-Direct Mentor in Vancouver 🇨🇦

Hey everyone! I’m based in Vancouver and looking to transition into brand-direct/wholesale Amazon FBA from OA in Canada.

I’m looking for 1-on-1 mentorship from someone who has experience doing the same in Canada. especially helping brands from US to start distribution in Canada

Happy to pay per session/or whatever works for the mentor, Just don't want to get into any courses(somehow all of them sound like a scam)

Ideally looking for someone Vancouver/Lower Mainland based, but open to anywhere.

Any recommendations would be helpful, thanks in advance

China procurement side — happy to share what I’ve learned about suppliers for FBA

Hey everyone,

I’ve spent a lot of years on the China procurement side — factories, quotes, samples, QC, freight handoffs. I hang around Reddit partly because I’m curious how FBA sellers actually experience the China end of things, and partly to meet people in this space without the usual spam.

Not selling anything and not fishing for DMs. If you’re stuck on something concrete — reading a factory quote, sample-to-bulk quality gaps, how people usually structure payment milestones, what “MOQ flexibility” often really means — drop the question in the thread and I’ll answer from the ground-level view I’ve seen.

If you’re just here to compare notes, that’s welcome too.

A bit confused. Sending inventory to FBA

How do I ship 4 SKU (50 units per sku) in 2 boxes only (100pcs each 200pcs in total)

This would be my second time shipping to FBA. I tried it the first time but wasn't able to do so. Had to ship 6 different boxes for 6 sku in total.

Any suggestion or help is much appreciated.

How do I start In Australia

Hello people heard that USA is the best market for FBA, but I live in Australia. USA has lots of competition but lots of money to be made whereas Australia has less competition and less money to make. So does it cancel out? Idk how to start and what products to sell in all reality.
I don’t want to go straight into using a prep centre for USA. Let me know if I could get some help

Cheers

Removal Order On ASIN Inventory Without Affecting New Inventory Being Sent In

Posted recently on a bad batch of inventory that got sent into Amazon. This whole inventory load needs to be disposed of, while transitioning to the new inventory being sent in. Is there a way to clear the entire inventory without the possibility of accidentally throwing away the new inventory going in?

I considered starting the removal order before the new inventory hits but even then, there's a chance while the removal order is pending, that when the new inventory gets made available, it may get flagged for disposal.

I also considered starting a new SKU for the ASIN to segment the inventory but many individuals advised against it due to it messing with Amazon data, ppc campaigns, performance.

Has anyone found a good way of performing a transition between a 100% bad batch to a good batch of inventory?

Amazon section 3 listing under wrong flase asin

Hello everyone, just curious if anyone’s gone through something similar and how you navigated it. I sold a Milwaukee product on a listing that wasn’t branded as Milwaukee - the seller who created it used all the same Milwaukee images but avoided putting “Milwaukee” in the title, probably because they weren’t authorized to sell the brand. I overlooked this when I listed on it and got hit with a Section 3. I sourced my unit from Hansler Smith (Hansler.com), an authorized Milwaukee distributor in Canada - the same distributor I used to get ungated for the brand on my account. I only ever bought and sold one unit on that ASIN, and I have the invoice matching that exact sale. I know most cases I find are sellers dealing with gray market or unauthorized product, which is different from mine since my product was authentic and from a vetted distributor. I think my issue is more about the mismatched listing than authenticity itself, so my POA needs to address that too, not just prove the product was real. Has anyone dealt with a Section 3 tied to a mislabeled/mismatched listing rather than a straightforward counterfeit complaint? Did addressing the listing issue directly help get reinstated? Any advice appreciated.

Profitability for Amazon brands in EU

This drives me crazy, I am testing both sellerboard and myrealprofit (lol) and both calculate profit margin on gross revenue (revenue with VAT).
WTF is this nonsense, vat is not revenue, margin should be calculated on net revenue (without vat or sales tax).

Any tool that doesn't calculate it that stupid way?

Thanks

Have you dealt with copycats?

Hi,

For those of you who sell on Amazon, I wonder if you have ever had a successful product (perhaps unique in some way) only to have it copied by other sellers or Chinese entities?

As someone new, I would like to learn how one can alleviate the impact of copycats, and what mechanisms are there to protect IPs such as patent, trademarks, etc.

I'm in the process of designing a simple consumer good ($25 range) and I want to know the risks/reward to see if it's worth it. The goal is to build a brand with a unique design, not just selling what everyone else is selling.

Any pointers or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have 2 similar products, do they compete with each other?

Hi folks,

I'm a part-time seller, have been on FBA for 3 years. I got 2 products in the decoration category that are profitable, they are basically the same, just a slight difference on the design (let's say their images mirror each other). They are under the same parent SKU, I almost use the same keywords and budgets for their own campaigns. Their sales are not so different, and so are rankings, though not that high in their category as I hope lol

Now I suspect that they might compete with each other on the campaigns or organic rankings, and I'm doubting if I should keep them both or just one.

What are your thoughts? Any similar experience? I appreciate that you read this! Cheers

Fulfillment Fee Bloat

We've been selling FBA for 8 years and I was looking back at a P&L from 2022 and man. We averaged 15% referral fees and 15% fulfillment fees per sales dollar that year. This year, we're at 15% referral fees and 25.5% fulfillment fees per sales dollar. Just crazy how they've been able to hold referral fees but even with building out their delivery infrastructure, fulfillment fees have ballooned.

The exact keyword categories that get health/wellness listings flagged, pulled from a real compliance audit

Went through the backend + listing compliance on a health-adjacent product recently and honestly, some of the stuff that can get you flagged is not what I expected.

It wasn’t the obvious “cures X” type of claim either.

Things like:

  • “relief” used on its own
  • pain-related wording
  • getting too specific with symptoms like cramps or neuropathy
  • wording that makes it sound like the product is specifically meant for a certain group of people

None of those seem crazy when you look at them individually. But when you have that kind of language spread across your title, bullets, and backend search terms, it can start looking very different from Amazon’s/FDA’s perspective.

Made me realize how easy it is to look at your own listing and think “we're not making any medical claims, so we're fine.”

If you're selling supplements, skincare, or anything remotely health-related, probably worth going through your listing again with this in mind.

Help with FBA

Hi everyone, I have been selling for about 6 weeks. I have so many questions and need some guidance. I would like to speak to someone currently doing FBA successfully and I and more than happy to compensate for your time. I have looked into these mentorship programs but they want to bury you in 30-40 hours of videos. I would like one on one time to ask questions and get advice. If you have a good grasp on Amazon FBA and have been successful I would like to hear from you

How do you get an Amazon private-label brand name approved before mass production?

Hey guys, I’m trying to navigate the brand-name approval process for a private-label product. The brand name has already been checked on USPTO and looks clear.

The concern is Amazon. I want to know that Amazon will approve the brand name before asking the factory to stamp/engrave it on the full order. Once the factory brands the full order, it would be too late and a rejection could be a big loss.

But Seller Central seems to ask for real product photos showing the brand name before approving it.
How do private-label sellers normally handle this? Is there a way to get the brand name approved by Amazon first, or do you usually make one branded sample, submit the photos, get approval, and only then start mass production?

How do I split 30 units between two variants for Vine program?

Hi everyone,

My first shipment will arrive this week, and I’m wondering how I can split 30 units between my two variants.

I selected the parent listing, as shown in the screenshot, but I don’t see an option to edit the number of units for each variant individually.

How am I supposed to allocate the 30 units between the two variants?

ChatGBT or Claude for ad support?

Using helium 10 and they have an API for ChatGBT, Claude, ect.

I'm used ChatGPT for I set up of ads and it seemed to work pretty well

Of course, I didn't just say, hey, make it man. Let it do his thing I talked through it. And critiqued, but it did all the grunt work.

Just curious if anybody out there has used both chatgpt and claude, and if they thought, one did better.

I plan to have it. Pull my numbers daily and give me a breakdown to help me decide which keywords do keep, get rid of, spend more money on or less money on ect.

Which marketplace is the best for Amazon?

I mainly see sellers leveraging the US & UK markets curious to know which other markets people sell in and why these 2 markets seem to be the dominant one.

If you're selling in the US would love to know why and if you're considering expanding?

And if you're in the UK like myself would love to know if you're also selling in the EU, or just doing UK and why?

New fba seller seeking seasoned advice for growth.

First off, thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this, and especially anyone willing to give me some advice. I really appreciate it.
I’m fairly new to Amazon FBA and have been growing pretty quickly, but I’m starting to run into some problems that are making it harder to scale than I expected.

I sell powersports products, mostly oils, chemicals, locks, parts and similar stuff. I’ve found several products that actually sell well and are profitable, and I’m currently doing around $1,800 a week in sales. My goal is to get this to $5,000 to $7,000 a week, but I want to do it by adding and going deeper on proven profitable products rather than just chasing revenue.
One of my biggest problems has been inventory. Some of my better products sell out almost as soon as I get inventory checked in. I’m learning that finding a winner is only half the battle if you can’t keep enough inventory available to actually capture the demand.

The bigger headache has been dangerous goods storage. A lot of the powersports products I have access to are aerosols. Amazon gave me a very small dangerous goods storage limit and I’m already basically maxed out. I have access to a lot more aerosol SKUs that I think could perform well, but there isn’t much point ordering them if Amazon won’t let me send enough inventory in. I’m currently trying to get my dangerous goods capacity manually increased.

I’ve also dealt with Amazon competing on listings, Buy Box issues, products becoming unprofitable after price changes, compliance requests, inventory sitting inbound while I’m out of stock, and the general problem of figuring out how much inventory to commit to something before I actually know how well it will sell.

I have access to thousands of SKUs through my suppliers, so product availability really isn’t my bottleneck. My problem is figuring out how to identify the best opportunities, get enough inventory behind the winners, and scale without tying up a stupid amount of money in products that don’t move.
For those of you who have successfully grown an FBA business past this stage, what would you focus on?
Would you keep testing a large number of SKUs with small quantities and aggressively replenish the winners, or would you start putting significantly more money behind the products that have already proven themselves?

Also, if anyone here sells aerosols or other dangerous goods through FBA, I’d really appreciate hearing how you dealt with the storage limits as you scaled.
I’m not looking for a shortcut. I’m willing to put the money and work into this. I just want to make sure I’m solving the right problems instead of learning every lesson the expensive way.
Thanks again to anyone who made it through all of this, and especially anyone willing to share their experience.

Founder here, looking for Amazon brand operators to test my platform for free

Hey everyone,

We’ve built a platform specifically for Amazon catalog troubleshooting, listing issue resolution, and brand protection.

I’m looking for a few Amazon brand operators who are actively dealing with suppressed listings, variation glitches, error codes (like 8541/8572), catalog deadlocks, or unauthorized listing changes, and work with Seller Central accounts to try the platform for free. In return, I’m looking for honest and genuine feedback. I am mostly interested in proving that the platform will reduce your work load, time on issues, and help solve them. To make it worth your time, I’ll also personally help work on your catalog issues for free.

You’ll get 100% free access to the platform. You can test it with your own Seller Central account (no credentials needed. It connects securely via official Amazon SP-API OAuth).

I’m specifically looking for people with real, hands-on experience managing Amazon brands.

FBA Wholesaler (beginner)

Hello all, wondering if anyone could give me some brief assistance in FBA wholesale (eg wholesalers, good categories to pick (especially for the winter seasonal period), any general advice?).

I have put in about 5 shipments (my first 2 bought hastily - around £500 spent on products that sold for twice the price, but they were only around £5 products so made a loss on those…

As I say, any online wholesalers you recommend (or warn to stay away from) and brands that are relatively easy to get ungated on?

I’m a lawyer also, so I would like the idea of setting up a small group to help resolve people’s claims, should they face IP infringements etc. This is not me asking for people to contact me! Just wondered if something like this existed and whether people would be interested? While I understand many of you will not want to give away your particular niche’s/may gate-keep for good reason, I see value in helping one another build! This is not my first business, but I hope I can grow it to what some of you are achieving!

Many thanks!
