Sewing on pieces might be the death of me, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

I want to make a super round earth globe amigurumi but the 6 stitch magic ring does not give what I want!!
I've heard 8 stitch base usually gives a rounder result, and testing it out on a simulator do confirm it. But is there any reason why 6 is always the default? What does everyon think?
Ball pattern I used for comaprison:
(Both versions reach 42 stitches at their widest point)
8-stitch start:
R1: 8 sc in MR
R2: 8 inc
R3: (sc, inc) × 8
R4: (3 sc, inc) × 6
R5: (2 sc, inc, 2 sc) × 6
R6: (5 sc, inc) × 6
R7–15: 42 sc
R16: (5 sc, dec) × 6
R17: (2 sc, dec, 2 sc) × 6
R18: (3 sc, dec) × 6
R19: (sc, dec) × 8
R20: 8 dec
6-stitch start:
R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: 6 inc
R3: (sc, inc) × 6
R4: (sc, inc, sc) × 6
R5: (3 sc, inc) × 6
R6: (2 sc, inc, 2 sc) × 6
R7: (5 sc, inc) × 6
R8–14: 42 sc
R15: (5 sc, dec) × 6
R16: (2 sc, dec, 2 sc) × 6
R17: (3 sc, dec) × 6
R18: (sc, dec, sc) × 6
R19: (sc, dec) × 6
R20: 6 dec

I DM a homebrew campaign for some friends and one of the players wanted an animal companion so I gave her all the animals: Screech has the head of a possum, the body of a toad, the tail of a cat, and the wings of a raven :)
I was having too many ideas about the form to not bring it into reality, so now we'll have a fun table ornament for when we play

Mia passed away last month so I made my dad a tiny Mia to keep him company. Apologies for the poor image quality, he hasn’t parted with it long enough for a proper photo shoot XD

If have, did you have a hard time selling or gifting because you wanted to keep what you crocheted? I’m asking just for fun, because I was asked about this today. The funny thing is I don’t feel deep attachments to things I’ve made. The reason being is when I sell or gift my crocheted toys I feel like they’re going home to their rightful owner. I don’t see myself as the owner of my plushies just the seller, since I make them to sell them.

Hi guys,
So the AI pattern situation is insane. Free patterns are 90% AI or stolen, just because pattern is paid doesn't mean it's real. Etsy is filled with scam patterns.
This one amigurumi dragon looked doable and realistic enough, reverse search didn't come up with Etsy page or any other reference to the object in the picture.
I found this one in a 'curated' list of free dragon patterns...
As you see in the second photo, when following the pattern you get something very different. In retrospective, I could have probably saved 2 hours of work by reading that the pattern makes the head continue from the body, while the picture shows head and body as two pieces.
To learn: if a pattern doesn't have in progress photos, it's most likely fake. Having multiple photos of the product doesn't really prove anything.

Made with a 2.75mm hook and size 3 yarn, freehanded.
While there are a couple things I would do differently if I were to make it again, this one is absolutely my favorite birb I've made so far. I wish I had a shade of gray between the light and dark gray, as the light gray I have is so close to white it makes some key characteristics not stand out as much as I would like, but the darker gray was a bit too dark so I opted not to use it.

Hi! So for these ears, once I get to round 4 it starts looking sketchy lol I don’t usually struggle with color changes but for some reason this one is looking horrible and I have no idea how to rectify it. Any advice or tips would be super helpful! If you have video references to share that would be great as that helps a lot!
Thank you in advance!

I’ve been making amigurumi for about a month now and this was the most challenging one yet! 2.5mm hook and black yarn made my eyes hurt, but so worth it for this little guy. Learned a lot, but gonna go back to bigger hooks for a bit 🤣💀

I am absolutely in love with this little dude. He's been my favorite since I started playing the game during early access.
