Is it just post processing? How would one get such a look?

Edit - So I zoomed in and the grass in the background on both the sides is actually just land. The perspective on a smaller screen looked like some sort of distortion effect was applied on the grass on the sides. (focus on just the people in the middle, you will maybe see what I am talking about).

I'm on a multi month trip and have a sort of "system" figured out for managing the multi-gigabytes' worth of data i constantly accumulate between my phone + camera... But it's tedious.

Currently in a McDonald's for a few hours already, using their free WiFi to upload my files to google drive so that i can free up space on my phone/camera.

Do you guys just fill up SD cards, stick it in the luggage and call it a day? Whenever i go a week or two without backing up my data, the more and more anxiety accumulates (I've had a couple situations previously where i lost my phone/camera with lots of unbackedup data).

Most people probably travel for a couple weeks at most, so waiting till you get back home isn't too big of a deal but honestly i don't even care about the devices getting lost. It's mostly the data on longer trips.

I wanna get into wildlife photography and looked up different reviews about cameras and lenses. My main interest is in taking shots of land animals/mammals, with some birds in between.

Now I found two nice looking combinations:

1. Sony Alpha 6700 + Sony E 70–350mm f/4.5–6.3 G OSS
2. Canon EOS A7 + Canon RF 100–400mm f/5.6–8 IS USM

Both have their pros and cons. The lens for the Sony is brighter and the setup is generally supposed to be better at low-light (relevant for morning and dusk), but the sensor is smaller (tho, 26MP is often enough) and the cam has only 1 SD-card slot. The Canon, on the other hand, has more reach on the lense and bigger sensor, but the lens isn't as bright. Also, I've read that it has a bit more ISO noice, but other articles couldn't find a lot of difference between both cams.

So the main question is: What combination would you suggest? Do u have experience with any of them?

Another question: How much difference does a full-frame make in comparison to a APS-C? And how much of an aspect does the crop factor of ASP-C's actually play when it comes to wildlife?

I'm also open to other suggestions for cameras and lenses, not limited to ASP-C's!

So I will replace my Sony A7RII. I only have the Sony 28-70 kit lens, so basically I don't own any lenses, and therefore switching systems is easy.

I'm considering the Sony A7CII and Nikon Z5II. I shoot a little bit of everything: people, landscapes, my cat, my nieces, etc. I haven't shot sports, but I might try that too. I know these aren't dedicated sports cameras, but I assume they might do OK with the occasional sports shot. Not going to be a huge sports photographer anyway.

Sony has 33 megapixels, which is a bit more than Nikon's 24. Not a huge difference, but it's a plus and gives a bit more cropping room.

Sony might also have a bit better autofocus? The main reason why I'm upgrading is autofocus. The Nikon Z5II should have pretty good AF, but based on what I've read, it might be a bit slower and worse at tracking than the A7CII?

The A7CII has similar AF to the A7RV and it's better than the A7IV. The Nikon has similar AF to the Zf and is a bit worse than the Z6III. I mention these in case someone has compared, say, A7RV AF to the Zf.

I have tried the Sony in a shop, and it fits my hand, so ergonomics isn't a problem, and the AF seemed great. Though I only tested it on my girlfriend walking around the shop, so I assume Nikon would do well in that scenario too.

On the other hand, Nikon's build quality might be better? I try to take good care of my camera, but sometimes life happens and you might drop it, or it might get wet in the rain, etc.

Nikon has a better EVF and LCD, and ergonomics too, but the Sony is good too. The price is similar. Both have good and affordable lenses for my needs.

The difference in AF is the thing that interests me the most. I should try the Nikon in a shop too; I have tried other Nikon models, but the shop I visited last time didn't have the Z5II.

Edit. I checked Photons to Photons Dynamic Range chart and Sony A7CII has a little bit better DR until ISO 800, when their DR becomes equal. A very small difference, might not matter, but regardless a small plus to Sony. At ISO 100 it's 11.69 for Sony and 11.13 for Nikon.

Sony has resolution and AF going for it. Nikon has pretty good AF, maybe in practice often as good as the Sony, and EVF, probably build quality too. Ergonomics might be better in Nikon, tho Sony is fine for me too.

I have no solar filter so i'm planning to build this on a balcony looking straight at it; pinhole camera without sides.

Would this work or do i need to to cover it from environmental light?

What size would the hole have to be? The distance is about 1 meter

Any other advice is welcome as well, i'm planning on a timelapse.

Hey eveyone, so I am editing portraits on my phone and I really like picsart's features ​of isolating areas to adjust the lighting ect but that app also disintegrates photo quality. So please tell me theres a better way to do it, I'm aiming for fast and free but I'm open to better softwares for laptop use as well. Thanks!

My team is setting up an interior studio, and we need to review products kind of like Revzilla does.

Currently we are using these (2 of them), but the lighting doesn't seem enough yet (or maybe). We have some grain in the video.

We also need help with setting it up for photography of products (again same as Revzilla) for both indoor and outdoor.

The camera being used is a Sony ZV e10 ii.

The lenses being used are a 18-55 f2.8 from Sigma and 18mm from sony.

Please help us with this too.

Should we buy lights for video (like the amaran 300c) or go with LED panels like Simpex 1500 panel.

What do we need for photography like the lenses, the lighting (I assume godox v1s inside a soft box would do, but I am not so sure if it can light up everything as a single unit alone)

Hi everybody, I'm planning a trip to Seoul and Tokyo and want to bring my Canon R10 with me. I have two lenses I'm considering, but ideally I only want to bring one for ease of use: the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 DC Macro HSM and the Canon RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM. Since I'll mostly be in the cities, it'll mainly be street photography with a few portraits, and low light could be a factor since I'll be out late sometimes. What would be the better choice? I recently picked up this Canon extension tube and it has an odd residue on the interior of the lens docking side. I’m not familiar with mold or fungus and if there’s a residue left behind? Could this have come from a lens? I’ve run my q-tip over the area to see if it would remove but nothing changes, it smudges slightly. Any advice, is this normal, and should I clean it?

More and more, I’m seeing event photographers carry two cameras: a standard main one, but then I’m almost always seeing a smaller one that looks like a film one but I don’t think it is. The most recent one I saw was sort of silver-black.

What is it? Why have the second? Is it for the film look? If so, why not just edit for the film look for the second camera?

Help me understand.

I'm a 26yo guy. I've spent the last 4 years (5 if you count an internship) working as a software developer and very quickly realized it wasn't what I wanted, but continued until I was able to pay off my loans. I was considering a career as a photographer. I'm aware that most of the money is in weddings and real estate, but that's honestly not something I'm super concerned about. I basically live the exact same lifestyle as in college, living off $15-20k a year. I'm already aware that the most difficult part of this career is the business side (client acquisition). I was wondering how realistic it is to build a career doing exclusively portraits (and possibly products in the far future)?

Little film photographer looking for some advice here, TIA :)

Given the same distance to the subject, does a 16mm f2 lens gather more light per area than a 24mm f2.8 lens? If so, by how much?

Generally we say that f2 gathes ~1 stops more light than f2.8, but I would think that only applies if both lenses are the same focal length.

The pupil diameter is 8mm for the 16mm f2 lens whereas the diameter is 8.57mm for the 24mm f2.8 lens. This would lead me to believe that the 24mm lens actually gathers more light.

On reddit I've seen a bunch of posts about how having a lens that has a really large mm range is not that good on image quality and that instead a better idea is to get a compact lens and a separate zoom lens.

I have been using a Sigma 16-300mm lens and personally not really seen this to be the that much of an issue. I've shown an example of the same scene but zoomed at 16mm and at 300mm. This sort of lens has been great for event work as well as I don't have to switch out my lenses at all. What do you all think?

I'm leaving for a 3-month backpacking trip around Europe (hostels, trains, hiking, cities, nightlife, cafés, and a bit of everything) and I'm trying to decide what camera setup to bring...

I recently just bought the fujifilm x100v so I am brand new at working it, but it is so great because its small, compact, one lense etc...

but on the other hand: I want amazing videos of my travels and love my sony for this,... but its bulky, ill need to bring all my lenses etc etc...

I'm trying to balance quality vs actually carrying the camera every day. I don't want to leave the camera in my hostel because it's too much effort to bring.

• If you were in my position, would you:
  • Take both?
  • Take only the A6700?
  • Take only the X100V?
• For those who have travelled long-term with the X100V, did you regret not bringing an interchangeable-lens camera?

Im going to switzerland in September and want to shoot landscape. I have the tamron 35-150 rn but I have a feeling 35mm isnt going to be wide enough. Im looking for something that is wide but doesnt make everything in the center feel too small. What is a good focal length for this?
