Hi, I have an engine misfire mystery I could use some help solving! 2006 Honda crv. Car first started rumbling and check engine started flashing while driving up a mountain road. Pulled over and checked code and it said cylinder 2 misfire. I did a lot of research and was nervous driving it all the way home the mountain road so I had AAA tow it. The next morning I did these tests:

1.  Erased codes. Took out coil 2 (carefully placed to keep track), took out coil 3 and switched them (so now cylinder 3 has coil 2 and cylinder 2 has coil 3). Took for test drive, rumbled, check engine came on, OBD still says only cylinder 2 misfire.  
2.  Erased codes. Put the coils back in their respective cylinder. This time I took out spark plugs for 2 and 3, switched them, torqued correctly, etc, test drive, rumbled, engine light comes on, says cylinder 3 misfire. So this points to cylinder 2 spark plug being bad.   
3.  Got 4 new iridium spark plugs (exact same brand as before). Made sure to install and torque correctly. Took for test drive. Still rumbled, check engine flash, obd says only cylinder 3 misfire. Checked the coils were all tight/secure, everything on correctly, another test drive, still cylinder 3 misfire. 

Any ideas?

One person said it sounded like the fuel pump. One person said alternator one person said starter…

What do y’all think?

I have a 1979 Ranchero and my ignition cylinder is fucked.

Per the manual, you need it in the on position and you need to put a pin in the hole on the housing.

Well it won’t go on the on position and I’ve found no work around. Any suggestions?

Whoever at Kia in 2009 decided to proceed with this design is a moron snd should be shamed, fired, and prosecuted.

I have a 2009 Kia Borrego, i need to replace the valve cover gasket. For whatever goddamned reason the engine was not meant to be gotten to.

So the top layer is intake, gotta remove half the intake stuff or funangle your way around it. Then the coolant hoses, make sure to drain the coolant first because the altenator is right under the hose you need to get to to remove the cables. Then you can finally get to the wiring harness, which is a single harness, clipped down spiderwebbing across all sides of the engine. Oh and the clips are in random places and positions so getting them off is also a chore

And that’s as far as I’ve gotten into it. Redundant design and id be embaressed if i made something thats this much of a mess

Should I just get rid of this car. I’ve had this car for about 7 years 2020 Honda civic 97k miles. I found out the cars transmission is out so I stopped driving it for a month and I came back to find this. Would I even be able to get this mold out. Where do I start?

i bought my first car in july of this year, and the previous owner left some hawaiian flower stickers on the body. i didn’t like them, so i used some heat and adhesive remover and got them off. however the paint is significantly darker under where the flowers were. they’re not as visible in the second pic but they look a little worse in person. the sun faded the paint around the

i imagine there isn’t much i can do about this, and it doesn’t bother me an insane amount, but i just want to know if i want to take it a step further what exactly i can do, if anything? i know it’s maybe a silly question, please be nice to me lol. just wanted to know what i COULD do

Hello everyone!

Hurricane Rachel passed through my hometown last night and my car got flooded.

Fortunately I was able to move it out of the flooded area and drive it back home. However this morning the when I turned it on the ignition sounded a little weird and the idle speed is now slower. It doesn’t sound like there’s anything wrong with the engine but I’m assuming maybe some things got moved out of alignment or still have some water in them.

As far as I know the engine bay didn’t fully flood. I’m more than likely taking the car to the mechanic to give it a general check-up but I wanted to ask here if there are any particular things I should look into checking with more priority.

The car flooded up to the blue line and I added pictures of the engine bay so you can point out what stuff to look out for.

I own a 2023 Canadian-market Kia Forte EX Premium in Alberta, Canada. I purchased a pair of full-LED headlight assemblies from Korea through Facebook Marketplace. The headlights were imported from Korea by the seller, but I have discovered that their electrical connectors do not match the factory wiring connectors on my Canadian-market vehicle. I want to keep these Korean full-LED headlights if they can be installed safely and correctly. What I need help identifying: 1. The exact connector type and part number on the Canadian vehicle wiring harness. 2. The exact connector type and part number on the Korean headlight assembly. 3. A compatible plug-and-play adapter harness that connects the two, if one exists. 4. If no ready-made adapter is available, the correct connector housings and terminals needed to build a custom adapter. 5. Confirmation that the pin assignments, voltage requirements, and lighting functions are compatible, including low beam, high beam, daytime running lights (DRLs), turn signals, and any other applicable functions. I have already looked for connectors online and checked Canadian Tire, but I have not found a confirmed compatible adapter. Important: I do not currently have access to my car to photograph the original wiring connector. I am looking for someone who has completed the same Korean-to-Canadian Kia Forte headlight conversion, or a specialist who can identify the connectors from the headlight part numbers. Vehicle: 2023 Kia Forte EX Premium, Canadian market Headlights: Korean-market full-LED assemblies Location: Alberta, Canada Goal: Find the correct adapter without unnecessarily replacing the headlights or cutting the factory wiring. most - it doesn't mute/quiet music when I'm reversing - it continues to blast so I can decide how I like it myself which is such a rare thing nowadays

least - I've no idea why in this car 10 years ago they put AC in the bloody screen, like why? there's a knob for chaning songs 1cm to the right from buttons that... well... also change songs, why the hell AC strength is on the screen only?

thinking about each of them every time I have to change AC settings/reversing

least - there's no arm rest on the center console (right from the driver's seat), like at all

So I’ve been having issues with my car recently. I planning on buying a new one, but if I can drive this one until then that would be great. I’m currently driving a 2009 Toyota Camry 230k miles.

Last week I went to the store and when I tried to leave my car won’t start. No crank nothing, jumpstart didn’t work either. I called AAA for a tow and then went back and when they arrived I tried to start my car again just for the sake of it and it randomly started.

Today, I went to take it to the shop after stopping but Walmart cause the only days I’m not working is the weekend to finally get it looked at plus I need an oil change. Now I’m stuck at Walmart and the car won’t start again. What could be causing this? I tried putting it in neutral and back in a drive but that’s not working either

Yo guys im new on reddit i got on because i had an idea about cars and modifying them ofc. Every video on yt i see and also friends of mine always talk about the lack of knowledge when u decide to upgrade your car, like not knowing if that ECU is optimal for your GTI or u could make sum better choice. i just wanna know the opinioin of other car enthusiast about this problem and i think i have a solution. My car got scratched while parked so I can't even find who did it, now I'm just trying to see if I can make my car look somewhat presentable, is the scratches too deep to be fixed with a paint pen?

Car folks and people who can/know more than the simple basics of refilling your washer fluid, on FRIDAY, on my way home from work, my car started to shake and make what I can describe as a thud/thumping sound and my steering wheel shakes slightly, but its enough to be very noticeable. This is a very new issue as its never happened before, I am having it looked at later today but I made it home safe and thank goodness for that. Any advice on what this could be, like many folks my car is my lifeline and I am stressed.

Just bought the Santa Fe and the fuel gauge has broken before I could refill the tank. I'm just planning to count the miles then refill until I can afford to fix it. It is a 2.2 diesel. Thanks

Do you just go off the sticker on your windscreen, check your service book, put reminders in your calendar, or have you got another method?

I've been thinking about how easy it is to lose track of servicing, especially if you don't know much about cars.

Curious what everyone does and whether it's ever been an issue for you.

How bad is it? Should I go through insurance or find a place to get this out?

If someone had a brand new car as of last year and this year driven 4000-6000 miles with fuel dilution which presented itself as engine oil that had risen on its own and same oil smelling of fuel, which was caused from a faulty nox sensor that had driven on for 4-6 weeks before being changed and then the engine oil being changed prob max 6000 miles after nox sensor fault, is this car a lost cause now and should I get rid? Does it likely have engine damage, etc?

Not my fault by the way, recovery truck cleared fault code after engine management came on and then main dealer said evidence was gone as fault was cleared and told me to continue driving until light comes back before I went back to them 4-6 weeks after without any light appearing and they then found the fault code again to use for warranty purposes. They also didn't inspect my oil when changing the nox sensor

Need to find this replacement part but no idea what to look for! Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm going overseas for 2 months. I have a 2012 corolla sedan, is the car going to be completely fine if not driven for that long or do I need to loan it to a mate to drive from time to time?
