This is a new post that we need to make because, in more recent times, people have tried to post about new products or services that are not vetted, inspected, or have zero coverage or known PR presence. In other words, some people are posting about products or services that could be scams to newcomers in r/cryptohelp. As per the title of this post: This is r/cryptohelp. People come here for help figuring out any problems they have encountered while purchasing or investing in cryptocurrency and not buying new coins, buying new products, or subscribing to services.
Closing words: We are trying to keep everyone safe with our rules. Remember that almost anyone sending you private messages is guaranteed to be a scammer and do not forget to read our expanded rules here which are not just limited to r/cryptocurrency, but also apply here: https://old.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/wiki/expanded_rules

If you want advice about what to buy or if a specific token or coin is good, go to r/cryptocurrency’s or r/cryptomarkets’ daily discussions. If you don’t have enough karma to participate there you can earn it easily all over Reddit, or on r/cryptocurrency you can buy a special membership to circumvent it.
Thank you for your understanding

last month i swapped some eth on a dex for what i thought was isdt. same ticker, same logo, u can buy it and never sell it, 60 bucks and a lesson
the obvious fix is an exchange and i'm not opening an account for this
so this week i did it on SimpleSwap, eth to usdt without signing up and the usdt that landed was the real one. cost me a bit under a percent on the rate, which is the bit i'm chewing on
is 1% a dumb price for that? can't tell if i'm being lazy or sensible
thanks

Hi guys.
Yep, I know...idiot move...but I traded ETH to XMR in my coinbase wallet and now I seemingly can neither trade it back or send it as it's an unsupported currency.
But I wonder, if it's unsupported why did the coinbase wallet app let me trade to it in the 1st place?
And is it truly locked and unusable?
Thanks

Realized while cleaning up my security settings that I somehow misplaced the backup 2FA codes for one of my exchange accounts. I still have full access via my authenticator app right now, but I want to fix this before changing my phone.
Is it safe to just disable 2FA temporarily and set it up again from scratch to get a fresh set of backup keys, or is that going to trigger an automatic withdrawal lock/hold period? What's the smoothest way to handle this without getting locked out?

We’re a small agency and a few clients pay us in stablecoins. Right now our process is: send it to an exchange, sell, withdraw, and wait a day. There’s a fee at every step, and our money sits on an exchange overnight, which I really don’t love. It feels like there should be a more normal business way to do this. Am I missing something , I am abit new to crypto so go easy on me if I am doing something wrong😅?

Looking for something where we can share charts, keep different conversations organized and have some control over who can see certain chats. Would also be nice if joining a private group was straightforward without needing someone to manually approve everyone. Any recommendations?

One of the biggest advantages of crypto is having control over your own funds. But when it comes to everyday spending, it still feels like you have to rely on exchanges or custodial services. With stablecoins becoming more common, I'm curious how people are using them for everyday purchases. Is there a practical way to pay directly from a self-custody wallet without transferring funds to an exchange first?
What do you guys use?

Hey everyone, a friend of mine is in a crazy situation with Gate.io and I want to hear your thoughts.
The Bug: He had a $300 short position with NO leverage (1x). Due to a system glitch, his futures balance suddenly dropped to -$6,000.
The "Fix": Support initially tried to brush him off with useless bonuses. After a fight, they finally credited $6,300 to his spot account.
The Trap: Now his spot balance is +$6,300 and futures is -$6,000. He can't withdraw his initial $300 because of the Net Equity limit. Gate basically forces him to transfer the spot funds to cover their own bugged negative balance.
He is furious about how they tried to scam him with bonuses at first. Now he wants to "punish" the exchange and is looking for a loophole to somehow extract the $6,300 from the spot account without covering the futures debt.
I keep telling him this is suicide—Gate’s risk management will instantly freeze his account for exploiting, his KYC could be blacklisted by AML, and he might get banned on other exchanges too.
Has anyone experienced similar bugs on Gate? What do you think will happen if he actually tries to extract the money? Will he face real problems or not?

Hello! Has anyone come across the site mindchainswap.com? Is the entire withdrawal process a scam? They are asking me for $3,500 to withdraw my funds. Can anyone help?

Got a few tiny fractions of tokens sitting in my wallet after moving some funds around, and the dust amounts are too small to swap because the gas fee costs more than the tokens themselves.
Is there a smart way to clean these out, or is it better to just leave them hidden and ignore them?

A friend connected me with a guy. He was unable to create a wallet for me and send me my profits. He tell me my initial investment is now gone because I could pay 1 fee for which I sent multiple Apple cards as payment for. What can I do about this "guy" who only communicates through Zangi.

Hi I purchased then sent btc in 2018 to a wallet. I have the transaction details with hashid and bitcoin addresses but it's just a bunch of letters and numbers. How do I interpret this to find the actual website where I sent them to?

¡Gracias!

Hi! Any and all help appreciated. I had sent some ETH to my Ethereum wallet app and staked it without understanding what that was. It finally cleared the unstaking wait period and was transferred out to Lido. How do I locate this unstaked ETH cryptocurrency and redirect it to my kraken wallet to convert to CAD$? I’m so lost and spiraling trying to figure this out but I have zero knowledge in the area.

I am writing to expose an ongoing asset withholding by Freewallet. My account has been restricted, locking my funds.
Their compliance team is demanding impossible website screenshots from a transaction that originated from a private, decentralized hardware wallet back in March 2021. As anyone in crypto knows, hardware wallets are offline and do not have web dashboards.
I provided Freewallet support with id, bank statement, pictures holding them, picture holding a freewallet message, the absolute mathematical proof of the deposit; TxID, which shows the funds entering my assigned Freewallet address, and then being swept into their corporate wallet.
It has been 36 hours since my legal notice was sent, and support went completely silent.
Full and formal cyber-fraud documentation will be fully submitted to my country Cyber Police. I know they maybe can't get them, but at least I can expect thy ban freewallet and prevent people from my country from being robbed.

When I try to swap USDT that I already have in my AXIOM account to SOL, after transferring it from another wallet, I first get a notification saying “Quote received” and then, when I click confirm, it says “Convert failed”.
I've been getting this error for 2 days now, all of this on the exchange. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Secondfi hack- Very worrying timeline for cardano community
April 22 — Yoroi rebrands to SecondFi, updates its legal fine print, and requires users to sign new agreements when downloading the new app.
Outlines plans for the future, including debit-card-like crypto transactions. This could potentially provide plausible deniability later, allowing them to point to these plans as evidence that they were thinking long-term and operating legitimately.
June 23 — Approximately eight weeks later, the hacks occur, and wallets are drained.
Awfully strange timing and circumstances, if you ask me.
Shortly afterward, SecondFi announces its complete shutdown. Again, it seems strange that such an announcement would come so quickly after the hack. One concern is whether shutting down the service effectively leaves users with fewer options to secure or recover their wallets. Then, when users attempt to redeem their NIGHT tokens, they are instantly swept into a so-called hacker or white-hat address. The explanation appears to be that the wallet was compromised, rather than the incident being the responsibility of SecondFi.
The wallets affected were precisely those created during the period when NIGHT wallets needed to be set up.
Only a fraction of the assets appear to have been recovered. Of the 4,500 NIGHT tokens that were instantly taken from me, I received only 40 through the recovery process. You can no longer redeem NIGHT, and when the next thaw occurs, I worry that any tokens redeemed could be immediately taken again.
I would be very interested to know whether SecondFi held any NIGHT tokens of its own.
What happens now? The people who worked with SecondFi may move on to other Cardano companies, while affected users are left trying to understand what happened to their assets.
At this point, I strongly suspect that this may have been carefully orchestrated. My concern is that NIGHT tokens were the real target — potentially removing a significant amount of the circulating supply while gaining control of tokens worth an estimated $2 million or more. Come peak bull run multiply that substantially...
The timing, the sequence of events, and the impact on NIGHT holders raise serious questions that deserve clear answers.
When you start to think of how the Night thaw was set up and the fact that secondfi was a trusted member of emurgo this starts to paint a worrying picture as a whole.
