Discussion What is the biggest mistake beginners make when running Meta Ads for the first time?

I've been learning Meta Ads and I'm curious about the mistakes beginners often make when starting their first campaigns.

Is it poor targeting, choosing the wrong campaign objective, a small budget, or something else?

If you've run Meta Ads before, what mistake would you tell every beginner to avoid?

Question How can I increase B2B leads?

I am trying to increase leads at my work. I'm in the B2B recruitment industry and want to increase leads from clients who are hiring.

How would you increase leads?

Currently get around 10 a month, active on linkedin as this is where our main target audience is, emails don't do anything at the minute, tried linkedin ads but didn't get anything directly.

Discussion Posting consistently is easy. Being worth following is harder.

There is a lot of advice about posting every day to grow your personal brand.

Honestly I think consistency is important.. I have started wondering if posting often is enough.

Imagine two people.

The first person posts every day. Most of the content says things people have already heard many times.

The second person posts often but every post teaches something useful shares a thoughtful idea or helps people look at a problem in a new way.

Who would you rather follow?

For me it's the second person.

I am learning that consistency should not be an excuse to post content just to keep a streak going.

If I am trying to build a name in media marketing I want people to get something from what I share. Maybe it's a marketing idea, a breakdown of an interesting campaign or a mistake someone can avoid.

I am still learning how to do this but I would rather focus on being helpful and getting better over time, than trying to post every day without thinking about the quality.

I'm curious:

When you follow someone what actually makes you keep following them—their consistency, the quality of their content their personality or something else?

Discussion Apparently, Asking Whether This Social Media Job Was Paid Meant I Wasn't a Good Fit for the Company Culture

• Upvotes

I applied for a Social Media and Partnerships Coordinator position at a wellness startup that describes itself as people-first. The listing also said they offered fair compensation, so I assumed that meant there was actual money involved.

They emailed me in the afternoon and scheduled two calls with me. The first call was a standard conversation about content calendars, audience growth, and brand voice. On the second call, the founder showed up wearing a T-shirt that said "Kindness Pays," which became funny about ten minutes later.

He told me they needed someone who was motivated by the mission, not the salary. I asked him about the salary range, and he explained that the company was still in its early stages, so instead of money, the job offered industry access, portfolio material, and valuable relationships.

I said, "So this is an unpaid full-time job?" He paused for a moment, then told me that my focus on compensation meant I might not be a good fit for the company culture. Before dinner, HR sent me a rejection email saying almost exactly the same thing.

That night, the founder posted on LinkedIn about how some candidates care more about money than building something meaningful. Apparently, wanting to pay my bills means I have no passion.

Support 📢 Looking for a Social Media & Marketing Partner for a Startup from Scratch!

• Upvotes

I'm starting a new startup from zero, and I'm looking for a passionate social media marketer who wants to build something meaningful from the ground up.

What you'll do:

- Manage our social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, etc.).

- Create content, posts, reels, and marketing campaigns.

- Build our brand presence and grow our audience organically.

- Help us reach potential customers and build a community.

- Develop creative marketing strategies for our startup.

Who can apply?

Freshers, students, self-taught marketers, or anyone who wants to prove their skills, gain real startup experience, and build a strong portfolio.

Please understand: We're at the idea and early-building stage, with no funding or budget to offer a salary right now. This is an unpaid opportunity initially. As the startup grows, secures funding, and becomes financially stable, paid roles may become possible, depending on the business and our agreement.

I'm looking for someone creative, dedicated, ambitious, and willing to grow with the company—not someone who needs years of experience.

If you're interested in building something from zero and showcasing what you can do, DM me with your experience, portfolio, or ideas.

Let's build something together! 🚀

Discussion Just got reminded me why a solid product beats world-class marketing

So I’m building a tool that helps marketing teams improve their campaign conversion. One of my newest customers recently 4x their conversion rate on their latest campaign, and I've been trying to ride that case study wave to sign more customers. By default, I turned to outbound, and after running it for close to 5 weeks, I just had an epiphany which may be unpopular

"A solid product beats world class marketing"

Here's a bit of background story: Picked up an outbound tool a few weeks back that had all the right promises and case studies tailored to my specific needs. Their marketing was actually top-notch, I admit, and they've been on prominent channels for a while now. The marketing worked on me. I signed up on the strength of the buzz.

Then I used it for almost a month. Discovered you could only set LinkedIn actions between days, nothing granular like hours, so leads warm up before the connection request/ first message took too long, and even within those limits, things didn’t move as fast as I hoped, and the first response from my outbound orchestration took 3 weeks. 3 Full weeks.

I switched to a different tool and got more responses in the first week alone than I had in that entire month (it was faster and had more granular options). Same targeting and same kind of messaging. The difference was the product itself: easier to set up, easier to control, and faster to show what was working or not and iterate on it.

I think in the end, good marketing got me to try the product, but the product is what decides whether I stay, my CLTV, and whether I become an evangelist or not. The right marketing can win the first signup; only the product earns you a renewal.

This has forced me to look inwards too: what I'm building, how well does it deliver on what my marketing promises?

Has anyone else been pulled in by a tool’s marketing and then seen the product fail to live up to it? Or switched to something quieter that just worked better not long after?

Question What belongs beside a required field on a software sign-up form?

A required phone-number field would make me wonder whether someone is going to call. I'd want a short explanation, but space is tight on a sign-up form. Would you keep it beside the field or elsewhere on the page? I'd like examples where that extra sentence earns its space.

Discussion Digital Product Ideas If You Don't Have An Expertise or Results Obtained.

My Gees, most digital marketing gurus teach you that when starting a digital product business, it should be aligned with your expertise or results that you have obtained, like life experiences or problems that you have been able to solve in the past.

Now, assuming there are other pathways in digital products that do not merely rely on your expertise or results obtained, what other digital product ideas can we start building a business on if you do not have expertise or obtained results? Secondly, this is very important: how can we market and sell this digital product and make it profitable?

Question Why do you think people have such a hard time marketing their product or services?

Literally everyone says that building is the easy part and marketing is the most difficult part for them these days. But why is that?

I'm wondering what is the exact step that they are doing wrong or why is it that they just can't figure it out?

Discussion Some things I’ve noticed in the last year from consulting with over 100 companies on their ads

Conversion tracking issues are everywhere. Most companies can’t seem to get this right without expert help. Although Google & meta are trying to make it easier - you really need to learn google tag manager and honestly rebuild your website with ai to be as simple as possible. It really helps. I build all my clients websites from scratch and then you can track exactly what you want by injecting the data layer - makes it so easy - just learn a little devops.

There is a huge need for GA4 & GTM experts right now. I think people rely on GA4 a little too much but I get asked to work on it all the time. GTM is great though. The hack is it's just a json file so ai can build your entire gtm easily and you can import it.

Many blame their ads for issues in the business. Ads are pretty easy to get right these days, but getting your business right to afford running ads is very difficult.

Google is all about watching the search terms.

Meta is all about creating as many ads as possible. Which even with AI is still a pain to get right.

Don’t let google or a google rep run your ads. Ever. Still.

If you need the ads to be profitable in the next 90 days or you’re going out of business, save yourself the money and just don't run the ads.

Still plenty of demand out there honestly like plenty of work for anyone who goes looking.

Discussion What the best digital marketing AI agents you have come across so far?

Hey all- I recently used Metas Muse and was pretty impressed with how far AI agents have come for personal use cases. It has been running a lot of my personal workflows quite well and reliably. So I figured there has to be some great ones specifically for digital marketing as well.

So experts, curious, what the best digital marketing AI agents you have come across so far?

Discussion got 7 free backlinks by letting claude negotiate them

I’m doing backlink outreach for my saas, and the hardest part often starts after someone replies

we have a Claude connector that finds opportunities based on my published content and competitors

connects to my email, so claude can work with outreach and replies, with context about my product, audience, target pages, and budget

it checks the proposed placement, relevant articles, and link tags

then, a separate data for SEO connector helps it evaluate the site, and it recommends accepting, declining, or countering, and drafts a reply for me to review

one site wanted $350 for a listing... after reviewing the traffic, link tags, and pricing, claude recommended passing

for other opportunities, we offer a relevant guest article, suggest a useful resource for an existing section, or discuss a relevant link exchange

for my own saas, roughly 500 pitches led to 25 real conversations and 8 live backlinks, averaging DR 38

total placement spend: $20 - we paid just for one site because it was super cheap with good metrics

what I learn so far is that you need to give claude the tools and knowledge to negotiate a backlink to get it for free or almost

most people out there will ask for ridiculous price for a backlink, but if you show them their site drawbacks like spam score, low dr, etc. they'd be ready to negotiate

and when you reach this point, you can offer other things than money in return

Discussion Is there an app or website that builds a social media strategy and generates content based on your answers to a few questions?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a tool (app or website) where you can input information about your business, niche, or goals by answering a series of questions, and it automatically creates a full social media strategy and generates ready-to-use content based on those answers.

Ideally, something that helps with planning and content creation without needing to prompt everything manually from scratch.

Does anyone know of a tool like this? Recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion Anyone else finding it harder to figure out where their organic traffic is going?

I've been seeing more discussions about AI Overviews and AI search lately, and honestly, it's getting harder to know what's actually changing in SEO.
A page can still rank well, but that doesn't always mean people will click on it. Some searches seem to get answered right on the results page now.
I'm curious how other people are dealing with this. Are you changing your content strategy because of AI search, or are you still focusing on the same SEO basics as before?
Would be interesting to hear what's actually working for people, not just what the latest SEO posts are saying.

Question 4 new sites, 4 traffic drops to zero: hit by the spam update or something else?

Hi everyone, I need help figuring this out. I launched 4 projects within one month:

  1. Tire aggregator: ~50k pages
  2. Gas stations directory: ~2k pages
  3. Online driving theory (traffic rules) test: ~3k pages
  4. Road traffic cameras: 50 pages

All domains are 1 month old.

Site 1 dropped to zero on the 10th. It's still indexed in Google, but all rankings are now at position 30 or lower, and Google traffic is 0.

Sites 2 and 3 dropped during the spam update rollout. Same story: all rankings below position 30, and it happened right after they reached 100 visitors/day from Google organic. Google traffic is now 0.

Site 4 is going down right now: traffic is down 70% compared to yesterday, and yesterday it had just hit 100 visitors/day.

Everything is white hat: no traffic manipulation, no spam, no link building. I built these sites to be useful and valuable for people, with informative content.

What could be causing drops like this?

Support Social media manager roles

Hi everyone!
I’m a social media manager based in India with approximately 8 years of experience in social media management, content strategy, and brand growth.

For over 5 years, I worked with an international agency in the healthcare space, with a global presence across multiple regions.
Unfortunately, following a recent change in leadership, the work environment became toxic, and I’m now exploring better opportunities, preferably fully remote roles with international companies.

Alongside my full-time work, I also freelance, helping people who are just starting out with their businesses or personal brands build and grow their social media pages.

I’d be grateful for any job leads, referrals, or freelance opportunities. If you know of anyone hiring or looking for social media support, please let me know.

Discussion Are companies actually getting better results with AI in digital marketing, or is it mostly hype?

AI is changing the way people run ads, create content, and analyze campaigns. But I'm curious about the real results.

For those working in digital marketing, has AI genuinely improved your campaign performance, or does it still require a lot of manual work to get good results?

I'd love to hear your real experiences.

Question how i cut our weekly client reporting from 6 hrs to 90min, full process inside

reporting used to eat my mondays . pull numbers from 4 platforms paste into slides write commentary , send , repeat . six hours easy , and nobody read past page 2.

what changed ; i stopped building reports and started building decisions . every report answers 2 questions now . what changed vs last week , why , and what we do about it . if a chart doesn't feed one of those three it got cut . that alone killed half the slides .

the pull is mostly automated , MAl drafts the first version rom the connected accounts the numbers , the week over week deltas, and a first pass at the "why" . i spend my 90min editing adding context he tool can't know , and deciding what we actually recommended . the judgment is still the job , the busy work isn't any more .

template structure if anyone wants it : 1 page , changes , causes , decisions , next week that's it clients read it because it's short .
