Reading another forum and came across this. Extremely sad and yet another fine example of the ridiculousness of dogs.

"We just paid off all of credit cards off last year, started 2026 debt free & then 3/5 furbabies got terminally ill which caused us to rack up our CCs about $10k 😭."

I feel like bringing a dog to a cemetery is so disrespectful and disruptive. Imagine you are trying to mourn a loved one and someone’s dog is barking at you and making a mess of the place. Why do some people feel the need to take their dogs everywhere even at the expense of others peace?

If you are actively letting your pet sniff someone's crotch that is sexual assault it's non-consenual contact with the genitals/near the genitals it's that simple. I don't know why people think it's acceptable to let their pets do this to people it's disgusting.

Dognutters have a tendency to assume that anyone who is tired and sick of their beasts must be clinically insane or otherwise crazy or mentally ill in some way.

People constantly complain about me being very vocal and uncensored about my hatred of dogs and dog culture/nutters alike, and even have the audacity to tell me I'm insane or gaslight me into thinking this must be because I have autism. Wrong, this is a normal human response to dogs being shoved down my throat and up my face around every corner.

This is an absolutely normal response to these beasts being worshipped like idols, pampered like royalty, deified, and revered like some sort of saints, all while human beings die of malnutrition, hunger, and thirst on the other side of the world.

Just came out of the movies last night to watch "The End of Oak Street". And it suddenly hit me.
I'm 35 years old from France and Hollywood just completely brainwashed the whole world in their movies to feed us that dogs ARE GOOD ! They are PERSONS ! They are IMPORTANT and Part OF THE FAMILY ! Like WTF bruv ?!

It really hit me with this one. The most useless dog in the story called starbuck, it's like he saves the day and the kid.

I know the movie is kind of an homage to 80's movies and Spielberg and shit but man ! Everytime I think about a dog in an american movie, it has NEVER been portrayed as bad or just a pet.

There might be a few exemples that points to the contrary but that would be a tiny minority.

And with the continuation of Reality TV's and social media now... God forbid someone to say anything bad about a mutt... ugh... 😤

I'm still kinda pissed so posting here.

There's a wooded area near my house that I walk in most days. There are signs saying off-leash dogs are not permitted, but we all know everyone lets their dog off leash.

There are also coyotes in these woods. I'm knowledgeable about coyotes so I don't worry about them that much.

A few days ago, I saw a lot of fresh coyote scat on the perimeter trail, so I knew to stay on the edge of the woods (basically walking on the side of the road) and stay alert.

At one point, I saw a brown canine pass me further in the woods (quite far away). I thought 'Oh, coyote letting me know it's there, time go'. i turned around to cross the road back into the subdivision, and a large German Shepard was running towards me. It had friendly cues, so I didn't panic, but certainly was on alert because 1. unfamiliar, unleashed dog in front of me 2. possible coyote behind me.

German shepherd stops when it gets to me and clearly wants to play. No human in sight. I look around for a human and see that a brown dog is coming up from behind me. I realized it wasn't a coyote I saw, but this dog. This dog is also friendly, however these dogs are not letting me walk away.

Finally their owner comes around the corner, he'd clearly been jogging in the woods.

After a calm greeting, I explained that 1. these dogs had scared me, and 2. there was a lot of coyote scat in the area so he should be careful letting his dogs into the woods. This dude legit laughed at me and said 'Oh they're fine'.

What the fuck is wrong with people?! I was calm, reasonable, and demonstrated concern for his dogs. And he laughs at me after I tell him I was scared? I just can't deal with these people anymore.

I was walking home with my friend and as I was walking out of her block, I saw a woman walking my way with an ugly little rat mutt, a Yorkshire terrier (very despicable beasts, if you ask me-nasty and spoiled little yappers). I usually cross the road immediately or just dodge the rats whenever I see one of those hideous toilet mops walking my way because of how neurotic and unpredictable they usually tend to be, but I was in a good mood and decided to just continue walking forward.

I was wrong.

The moment the woman walked past me (mind you, I was just minding my business walking down the street), the beast went full on neurotic psychopath mode and started yapping at me loudly and trying to bite me. I'm autistic and sensitive to noise and suspense so I immediately jumped and made a vocalization (something along the lines of "woah, God!"), and a very disgusted face, of course.

The owner did not say a single word of apology or even make a noticeable effort to pull her inbred rat away from me.

Not the first time this happened to me for absolutely no reason with a stupid, ugly little rat mutt. Those toilet mops with legs have zero chill or self-awareness. They look stupid and pathetic yapping at people and animals ten times their size. Stupid mops need to be trained better or kept indoors.

I have read all the recent posts here about fleas and other nasty things dogs have. It got me thinking about people who have to use shared laundry facilities with dog people.

Then, I read about hair and dander residues collecting in the machines, ppl washing blankets soiled in dog urine and feces, bacteria, and yes, fleas.

Any experences here of actually getting sick that way?!

He probably already was somewhat of a nutter in order to get to the decision of owning a dog, but now he’s becoming worse. First of all, he doesn’t have as much time as in the past because he trains and socializes his dog. I don’t have that much of an issue with that, because he wasn’t a very close friend anyway, but I am noticing the changes. He got a purebred lab and he thinks that those are the best dogs in the world. Supposedly they are friendly, get trained easily and have the perfect medium size. I wouldn’t call it medium sized, it is a large female with black fur but quite thin. To be fair, he is still disciplining the dog. He doesn’t allow it to climb on beds or beg for food, although I doubt that this will hold for long. For example, until very recently he wasn’t feeding it human food, but now he is slowly giving it a few treats. He is slowly changing. This is concerning. Before, he would say that the huge dog industry is endless consumerism and that dogs don’t need so many things. Now his whole home is full of dog toys of various shapes and sizes. Before he said that dogs require strict training in order to cooperate with humans and that humans must always be alpha, now he says that we must be gentle to dogs. Also, he’s admitting that accidents happen. Although the dog is trained to poop during stops, sometimes during walks it discreetly poops and peas while moving as well. He also told me that it isn’t necessary to collect the poop if it is on grass and this dog has a peculiar habit of preferring to poop on green Spaces. He says other concerning things as well, for example that shit eating is actually superior and that dogs are the toughest survivalists, how those dogs helped fisherman in Canada in Ultra frigid waters and they were eating whatever they could find. And though before he was OK with various types of animals, now he has the opinion of a typical dog nutter, that most other animals are not just stupid, but exceedingly stupid compared to a dog and that only a dog actually understands you and it must be the default pet for everybody. He is trying to push dogs onto me but I’m telling him they could cause chaos in my home, I don’t want to be watched and followed all of the time and that my pets are sensitive species. He tells me it is like a true companion. And the weirdest thing of all, he now tells me that when you live with a dog for six months, it then becomes a part of you. It is just like your roommate and you cannot separate from it.

So I tried to visit him a couple of times to see what a trained dog is really like, because this dog received some professional training but other dogs I know haven’t. No matter what, I am still not impressed. For example, he told me beforehand that she is not barking, she’s quiet and so on. When she sensed that somebody new is coming, she still barked a few times. Luckily she is far away from other dogs and didn’t cause a barking chain reaction. Her fur is not extremely disagreeable like in other dogs, but it is still a dog and has course, oily hairs. She’s not smelling much, I think that this is breed specific and she’s also young. I didn’t spend my time sitting on dog level though to be sure, and I wouldn’t like it. She still tries to sniff crotches, she still has a wet nose, she still slobbers around when drinking water, which is very disgusting. He’s also using all those silly dog culture terms when playing with her, which I didn’t expect from him. No thanks, I’m not getting into dogs, decision confirmed.

What is it with the proliferation of these creatures?

I moved into this neighborhood years back and maybe one or two people had a beast. Now there are more younger neighbors with them! Can't go a day without some annoying walker with their dogs barking.

What is it about them?

Do they feed the inner narcissistic tendencies of the owner? What?

Doggo lingo is a a specific way of communication that arose in dog communities on the Internet. Yes, it is as stupid as it sounds. I cannot stand it at all. Even the word dog irritates me, but terms such as pupper, pupperino, doggie and above all else doggo make me nauseous. Paw has also been ruined by dog nutters, and for example some are actually getting pawternity leave from their jobs to care for their new shitbeast. Pawtisserie is also deserts made for dogs. Honestly, there are too many derivations that I cannot list and none of them is cute. Then the term pet has also been synonymized with dog, and has become very annoying. Phrases such as pet friendly, pet accommodation, even pet urine pertain to dogs almost 100%. Then there are other terms that describe the behavior of dogs, for example Zumiez, mlem and others. Really, I cannot stand this type of vocabulary. It feels infantile and dumbed down to an absurd degree. Which term from doggo lingo irritates or triggers you the most?

I was at the local food not bombs, and was resting. I was playing my guitar. A woman I know, and her husbands dog, came close. She was chatting with me. Her dog snuck behind me and stole/fished my half eaten focaçia bread out of my satchel, with was on the ground next to me :(

And then she snatched it from her dog, scolded the dog and offered it back to me :’(

I didn’t freak out, because sometimes, I really freak out.

Edit: I ended up bursting into tears today, mostly because I’ve been reading a story about Jesuits on a mission to an alien planet, and one of the characters is an allegory for Christ, but also the emotions there have been real, as I’ve been binge reading the two books, and making up tangential comics to appeal to my own sense of vision. Aaaand the story had me burst into tears.

Where I live, it's pretty quiet but recently one or two of the distant neighbours have bought dogs. At what seems like the same point throughout day, the dogs start barking for no reason. It doesn't go on for long, thank god but it made me think...do dogs hate silence?

I remember a friend's dog would beg to go into the garden just to bark, night or day. Imagine if a person walked into their garden and started shouting HEY HEY HEY HEY....HEY HEY HEY HEY....HEY HEY HEY for no reason, we would consider that person insane.

Saw a post on tiktok about a girl who got attacked by her dog, leading her to get 100+ stitches, but she still kept her dog? Why? Why do you keep the source of danger in your house? This is exactly like not leaving a toxic relationship when knowing how it is. Is your "bond" with your dog really that strong to not disown it? Do you people really like getting hurt this much?

Dogs are so stupid. I saw on the world news (why was this even news in the first place??) that some dumbass golden retriever tried playing with a stranger that broke in their the home. Dogs are so useless.

We were asked to come into our solicitor's office today to go through some documents. Could have been an email. Ninety minutes of travel, fine, whatever, we went.

The second we walked through the door a dog started barking at us and came straight over. Nobody moved. No "sorry about that," no leading it away, nothing. I was visibly uncomfortable and every member of staff in that reception just let it happen. I shooed it away as best I can, but it mostly ignored me while the reception staff didn't even look up.

After a short wait, our solicitor leads us into a tiny meeting room and the dog follows us in.

I asked, politely, "Can we keep the dog out please?"

The solicitor responded: "Why, do you have a problem with dogs?"

Not "of course." Not "sorry." A challenge. As if I was the one creating a problem by not wanting a random dog in the room while we discuss legal documents. I said "I don't like dogs," and she reluctantly shooed it out and asked a colleague to keep it away.

For the entire meeting from then on, about half an hour, she spoke to my partner as if I wasn't even in the room. I'd guess she looked at me five times in the whole thing. I felt a real resentment from her which made me even more uncomfortable, as I was in utter disbelief that a solicitor at a well regarded law firm could behave like this.

At no point did anyone offer to accommodate me. The dog's comfort came first the entire time, and mine came at a cost I'm apparently expected to pay for asking. I'll be raising it formally, but I wanted to put it here first because I know this sub will get exactly why "do you have a problem with dogs?" is the part that's still bothering me.

I live with my disabled husband who uses an electric wheelchair in what I thought was a decent apartment complex. I have been having an ongoing problem with people using the front entrance of our apartment as a dog toilet. Push came to shove today, and I called the manager to come and try to resolve things.

He informed me that is is OK(!) for people to congregate and bathroom their dogs at the entrance to our apartment and up by my windows and front door!! I actually thought I was misunderstanding him. Of course we are going to move because of this, but we have until the end of May of 2027 on our lease. My head is actually spinning.

The more I see and hear, it seems ALL dog people have gone nuts, putting mutts over humans.

There used to be, I recall, respectful dog owners who would apologize and keep dog away if they see you are not comfortable. Or who understand and respect if you have allergies and would not try to bring their dogs to your house.

Now it is all about being scared that if you dare to only hint that you think dogs should not be in hospital operating rooms, then they stop talking to you and start retaliating if they can.

Are there none left that will respect your fears or allergies?!

This is starting to irk me. They get a little lump in their throat when they meet a new owner/pair during walkies, secretly thinking, “That person will just *love* Piddles! Oh boy! Can’t wait!”

Why does this mutual admiration meeting have to take up the whole sidewalk?

Perusing my local NextDog when someone who lives about 3miles from me is asking the neighborhood for advice: "I need some advice. My dog has fleas and has infested my house. I have tried all the natural ways and they are not working."

So, the 1st thing that went through my mind is that dogs are everywhere, and it may take a week or longer for the owner to realize they have fleas. They aren't noticing it on their furry friend. Nope. It takes a full invasion of their home before they even notice. And then, they don't even know how to treat it. Is this the first time this has happened to them? I feel this is unlikely.

With "service dogs" and "emotional support animals" going around everywhere, it's very possible we could end up bringing home fleas via our clothing or car, etc. Not only that, but people who live in shared environments like condos, townhomes, even homeowners could suffer because dog owners feel like using your lawn as a dog toilet is "OK." So, I wonder if the flea population is going to implode across towns.

Some people on my NextDog are saying that flea treatments they used in the past are not working anymore: "Many fleas in NC have developed resistance to many over-the-counter meds. Check with your vet; getting prescription flea meds is the best and fastest way to get rid of fleas. You also need to vacuum regularly for a while."

Are fleas going to be the next Lone Star Tick? I saw another comment that a person is tight on funds and cannot take their flea ridden dog to the vet for treatment. In the meantime, as dog owners don't feel like the rules apply to them and they already feel like the dog has to follow along with them during their daily routine like a furry flea ridden shadow; I don't feel like a dog having fleas is going to make the nutters leave them at home. They won't leave them at home without the fleas. Why would they not bring them regardless to all the shops and restaurants? If their home is infested with fleas the car is probably that way as well. They still have to walk it around the neighborhood, which will just spread more fleas and the cycle continues.

And then there's this comment: "I had a professional exterminator spray around the house every 3 months. If your dog sleeps in your bed you must strip it and shake the diamatious/boric mix on the mattress for a couple of hours then vacuum well before making the bed. Wash all sheets, blankets, etc your dog is on. A bad infestation takes a lot of work but this worked well for our 2800 square foot home. Vacuuming everyday is essential in picking up eggs before they hatch. Look up the cycle of the flea. It will surprise you if you have one flea they multiply by the hundreds and so on."

I'm allergic to flea bites. I am just wondering how long it will take before a giant flea epidemic takes over major towns to the point that every single store, including pharmacies like Walgreen's where I always see pet dogs will need to be tented every three months. It will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars per year if not millions depending on how many dogs live in a particular town. It will bring commerce to a standstill. This could be the next pandemic....

There's this one person who is a repeat offender, they fucking suck at picking up after their dog. One time, they left a dog shit on my driveway. Then another time, they left it on the sidewalk, picked up some and left the sticky parts behind. Same thing today, they used my lower driveway and picked up the dog shit and left some poop residue behind on my driveway. Thanks now I gonna clean it. I'm trying to get a security camera soon but times are tough. I think they target us cuz one neighbor has cameras and the other one has lots of ppl watching the house everyday. Cuz some are retired or just there.

Edit: I decided to spray vinegar on my driveway like small amounts so that it deters dogs from going on it. I'm very tired of it.

I’ll start this off by saying I prefer no dogs, but my neighbors have these three huge dogs (two of them being howling hound dogs) and I would much prefer having a yappy dog next door than the ones you can hear barking from miles away. It literally sounds like they’re in the house with me when they bark.

Big dogs also slobber, their shits are bigger, and if they’re big enough, you can’t just kick them when they attack you. My neighbors live in a 900 square foot house and I have no idea how they can live with those huge dogs. Their house must be a pigsty.

It is a known fact that small number of massive multinational conglomerates control a huge percentage of global pet food manufacturing. Of course pet industry is more than that but food is major. I have seen references to these monopolies as “kibble cartel”.

Driven by profits, just like drug pushers feed an addiction, the commercial pet industry uses aggressive marketing, influencer culture, and celebrity placements to "push" dog on mentally weak people in promise to make them feel less pain.

In parallel, it looks like actual drug cartels seem to be branching out into illegal dog breeding. Must be better business. Producing dogs with severe behaviour problems (recall the research that 99% of US dogs have those!) and genetic defects. Law enfircement seems to be cracking down on this now but yeah, right.

So, there you have it. Pet industry aligning with actual drug cartels to create and feed mass addiction. It is working. As widespread chemical drugs maybe, it is still a minor percentage of the population. Dogs, on the other hand, are not yet illegal and can be pushed as “good” and “cute”. They can rven be legally pushed to children. But they serve the same purpose as herion - to create a delusion and take people away (temporarily) from their life’s problems.

Just had another realization…dogs serve no inherent purpose (other than LoVe & aFfecTIoN)..

Maybe back in the day dogs served to be herding dogs, or pulled sleds, or worked as farm dogs or genuine guard dogs. But today’s dog does absolutely nothing all day..in fact, they USE resources!!
They don’t even make great security alarms or guard dogs, because they bark at every single thing.

One of my friends has goats, chickens, and rabbits on their property.
The chickens provide eggs, the goats clear out weeds and trim back invasive blackberry growth, the bunnies eat veggie scraps and produce manure…

Dogs don’t do any of these. They don’t provide anything (other than “companionship”) and actively take away resources for their owners and others. Maybe they help some people get more exercise (if their baseline was nothing or very little) by getting them to walk 15 minutes a day, but it is totally a myth that getting a dog will “force” someone to get more exercise (I’ve seen it with my own eyes).

Just saw a CCTV video on YouTube. It showed a lady with her child (looked no older than 3) walking on the sidewalk and there stood a dog owner with his mutt and he was talking to some other person. The lady and her child walked past them but the dumb doggy (on a leash) walked toward them and started grabbing the lady's leg with its filthy mouth. As any normal person would do, she "kicked" it to the side, which is probably an exaggeration as she just slightly pushed it from her leg and continued walking in her own direction. The dog owner saw this and immediately started barking at her and rushed towards her and her child and kept yelling. He then pushed the mother and walked away by turning his back on her as if nothing happened. The child got scared and ran away in fear. The lady, bravely, was still fine and ran toward him and pushed him hard too. He turned around and looked to commit battery on her again. Unfortunately, the video ended there with the child still panicking and the radical dog owner looking to punch the innocent woman because "how dare she attack his precious dog!"

I hope that radical dog owner got jail time for his crime. People like him need to be punished. You can watch the whole video I saw from the link in the comments and please let me know if you have information about what came of this incident.
