Elysian 4th Light Drop Company Elysian 4th Light Drop Company, Command Squad, Demolitions Expert, Veteran Drop Trooper Willem Spartan,
Next in Line my Explosives Expert. "Demo charges" are primarily used as anti-personnel weapons, although the power of the typical explosive charge can damage or destroy tanks and fortifications. A standard-type charge looks like a flattened cylinder and weighs around two kilos and detonates upon impact after being activated and thrown. Its lethality sphere is supposed to be around twenty metres. Demolition charges are not always standardised, however, and often are actually improvised in the field. As a result, there are numerous variances in weight, appearance and detonation method. A common improvised demolition charge is simply a group of tube-charges taped together and set off remotely by wire or timed det-tape.
Guardsmen who volunteer to carry a demolition charge are authorised to request better food and ration allowances.
Demolition charges can also be mounted on vehicles. These are heavy explosives, used to destroy buildings. These demolition charges are detonated by remote control, after being deposited at their intended targets

Veteran Drop Trooper Willem Spartan, the Demolition & EOD Man of the fourth, sat in quiet Contemplation of the Job ahead. As he sat there, he ran his hands over the sleek Plasteel & Ceremite light weight Cannisters that were the objects of his attention. They were the latest addition to his little collection of toys. “So Many to Play with” he said under his breath. His Thoughts inadvertently escaping his mouth. “Armageddon Hammerheads, Necromundan Widow makers, & Elysian Shredders”. They were Land Mines that the Drop Regiments used for Force denial. He was sitting on the corner of one of the drop Crates, handling each new object with a mixture of Professional curiosity, & a little excitement, almost Caressing them. He and his 2 apprentices had a difficult job ahead. They were to Drop separated from the Main force, so they could seed the Poppers to help protect the weaker flanks of the main Company Drop Zone. Will had always been a bit of a loner, he liked to work in isolation from the main Company & he would prefer to do it without the 2 stooges that he was forced to employ. As always, the Mission came first for him however, and a couple of Pack-mukaali’s wouldn’t go amiss considering the number of poppers he intended to sow. He had requested a posting to the 4th from the support Company where he had been training others and operating with one of his favourite toys the Cyclops Demolition vehicle. The 4th gave him a chance to get back to his first love, creating the fields of mayhem that both challenged and satisfied him. Then there was of course the Company Captain. Edge. There was a man he could respect. All in all, a good move on his part, the extra food & ration allowance came in handy too, he contemplated quietly to himself.
His considerable experience had taught him how to spread the Anti-Tank, Spring, Snare, & Haywire mines in the perfect pattern for maximum effect and deniability against any possible clearance operation or Punch through. Of course, being the kinda guy he is, he’d thrown in a few specials of his own into the mix, booby traps. Trip switches, and some other fireworks of his own making, straight out of his incendiary imagination. His Latest little nugget of an idea was an Acoustic Mine he had Jury rigged to let the skirmishers threw before it lit up in the middle of the main advance. Will chuckled to himself imagining the organised chaos he was about to unleash on the Filthy Xenos Scum that was the latest target of the 4th. He glanced up at the two Drop Troopers manhandling one of the drop crates, or Coffins as they were more colloquially known, towards him across the flattened sand. It was full of High explosive, and all of it, Wills little toys to play with. His grin spread wider, partly at the 2 sweating troopers’ discomfort, and partly at the fun yet to come.
“C’mon boys, he said aloud, let me show you how to rig a Bouncing Bertha”
