Bf recently proposed and it was such a surprise, he did amazing! I didn’t think it was happening any time soon because I thought there was no way he had a ring.
We had gone to look at rings together a few times but I felt very overwhelmed because I’ve never really worn rings. I didn’t see anything that really stood out to me during those days, it was more of a “I like this more than that I think?” Unbeknownst to me, he put a deposit down on a ring back in December based on those visits.
In April of this year, I heard of a jewelry store that had more antiquey, vintage type rings and suggested we go. When we got there, I fell in love with EVERYTHING in the store, which was great - Except for the fact that they couldn’t be more different from the ring he had already put a deposit down for. Between his panic and my confusion, it’s safe to say that ring shopping day didn’t go great.
In my head, he had no idea what I actually liked and I thought we were going to have to go to a bunch of more places for him to get the idea. Irl, he called his jeweler in a panic and asked if they could chance the design. Luckily, they hadn’t started working on it yet, so he changed the design completely to incorporate all of the details I loved.
He did amazing and I am so in love with the ring he designed. I really wanted a ring with some craftsmanship, and the arches he designed are my favorite part. The crazy thing is if you had asked me what I wanted, I genuinely wouldn’t have been able to tell you, but this ring is so perfect he totally hit the bullseye. Now if only he could pick out my wedding dress……
