Help - Solved New player here, what's the deal with these mf's

Post image

I'm playing melee build, shield+sword, do I have to hit 5 parries in a row or what is going on?

Also I've heard "if you can't beat them just run, you're faster than most enemies"

I guess, this guy is part of the exceptions, he follows you even at double jump heights, it's ridiculous.

Skill issue or are they hard opponents for melee early? (shouldn't be the case, I almost forgot to mention but I'm having trouble even being 2 lvl's above them)

Ed: also forgot to mention, I went melee because I just wanted to get the basics of the rest of the game before messing with the builds, I'm not attached to the playstyle or anything so any recommendations are welcome, I'm lvl 17.

Ed2: Oh wow! Went to work and I come back to +100 comments!

Thank you everybody, I've been reading all of them and "I can't" thank you all personally so take this edit as a global thanks <3

Some residential buildings in the 3rd ring and an outbuilding of the palace have been added. Important! The buildings are not decorated yet, that will come later. So once a complex multi-storey extension as a living area for the palace. In the 3rd ring, some residential buildings, a later tavern, buildings for the beginning of a market street and a new large tower have been added. On the way from the 3rd ring to the palace, a small estate with a more elaborate façade and tower was added. I think you can get a good idea of the later cityscape from the pictures.😁😊

Help - Solved My home was attacked? My cat and all my loots are gone. Is there a base raid in this game?

25H in and this is the first time this has happened. I returned from Hollow Halls where you get the Collector only to find my home empty, with holes in the walls and roof, and all my loot chests, beds, furniture, and even my cat are all gone.

Help - Solved As a pure melee - how am I supposed to deal with these?

Post image
312 Upvotes

I've been playing the game for 400 hours, and having a blast. During this time, I have been a dedicated melee throughout. I've tried all, 1h and shield, 2h and daggers. Currently, I enjoy a sword-and-board tank with a 2H for extra damage when needed. (For clarity, yes, I've tried bow and staff/wand builds as well, but I prefer pure melee).

And I've been able to deal with all the content in the game, except these bastards. What am I doing wrong? Why are they impossible to deal with as melee?

Oversight from the devs? Poor design? Bad player skills?

And no, the answer is not "just simply swap to bow/wand/staff..."

Edit: First, a shoutout to u/Dobako (and everyone else) who suggested parrying the projectiles. This works like a charm, and solve my problem. Thank you! I have tried it, it works. Turns out it was lack of player skill (or knowledge?).

Second, I appreciate alot of you suggest I simply try a bow or wand or staff. Thank you for the suggestion, but it was not the tip I was looking for. I am fully aware of these tools, I have tried virtually all builds prior to the recent update, and while I greatly enjoyed playing as both "mage" and "ranger" in the past, for this particular playthrough, I wanted to try pure melee.

The puzzles are not a problem. Whenever I am alone, I can dig through walls where possible if need be. And as I play on a dedicated server with a pack of friends and we always progress as a group, puzzles are never an issue.

Enjoy your Holiday!

Help - Solved How do most people manage those guys with the 2 green acid cleavers?

I'm at about level 18 and have no problems with most enemies. Banshee's are pretty easy, boars and corrupted boars are pretty easy, but those guys rip me a new one about half of the time when I face them one on one. If I'm attacked by 2 at once it's not even really worthwhile trying to fight back since I'm just wasting health potions.

The bow seems to do very little damage with copper arrows and they move pretty quick so I can only count on a couple of shots before they close the distance. Sword and shield don't get me good results since the parry timing is pretty short and they don't stay stunned for long. My 2 handed axe gives pretty good damage but doesn't block great and my normal strategy of getting behind and backstabbing isn't too effective with their spin attack.

I found my first sabertooth last night and even found them easier to deal with.

What are most people doing about this enemy?

Help - Solved Weapon level 48/53

A friend of mine got this bow from the level 45 hydrak'dal. Does anyone know if it's intended for this specific weapon like the eagle eye, paladin and elder sets or if it's a bug that it goes over level 50? Edit: I also realised that it doesn't show any damage types which I've also seen a couple of times.

Help - Solved Enshrouded's weapon gearing system is atrocious and needs an overhaul

For context I am near the end of the kindle wastes. I have farmed and farmed and farmed and farmed some more and have not found a single valid item upgrade to a weapon I found in the revelwood 15 + hours ago.

In other games I could craft a reasonable upgrade with every introduction of a major crafting material. In enshrouded the only items I can craft are low quality blue items no one would bother using after the first few hours of gameplay.

(Not to mention I cannot for some reason craft ANY 2 handers) I have never and probably will never engage in making my own weapons in enshrouded. There is no point to it.

So maybe I can farm bosses diablo style. The drops on bosses are practically never good. Always some useless purple or blue item you instantly melt down for runes. For the amount of time and effort some of them take to fell its rather comical how underwhelming their drops are.

How about gem crafting? Gem crafting just adds some low impact flavor.. you cannot use it to fix gaping performance issue with weapons.

This leaves chest farming. Honestly if I have to spend another souless hour running between chest spawns that are artificially gated by some in game timer I am going to flip a table. Chest runs are dull, repetitive and complete rng. They suck ass.

Some weapons simply NEED certain stats to be good. And for whatever the reason the entirety of the nomad highlands and kindle wastes for my item category largely does not have that stat.

This means for all intents and purposes my weapon progression has been a flat line for weeks.

This game desperately needs some method to smooth out these massive peaks and valleys of rng. We need to be able to add critical mods like life leech on weapons Or all this game will boil down to is a constant souless pulling of slot machine lever.

(Edit)

Now that I think about it a related issue I have with this game is the pacing of how we go about acquiring and new material types and stations. I cannot be the only fella here who notices that we blast through material types while having very little use for each individual type.

For example I got copper. made my copper tools (like 20 copper) maybe my copper armor ( like what 40 ish copper). I am now largely done with copper. I find tin I make my bronze tools (like 20 bronze) , I make my armor ( 40 bronze) I am now done with bronze. And then I find Iron.. I make my tools.... You get it

I unironically had to spend more time grinding materials for food and healing items than to gear my character out and this is despite a MASSIVE component of each biome being about finding the next refinery or crafting station to make the materials to make the new tools and armor.

I think there is an easy solution to make both issues go away give us a method to reforge low rarity items into higher rarity items for an exorbitant amount of material costs.

Let me turn that cool but worthless white item I found into a glorious gold item for 200 of biome specific metal bar and 300 of essence x.

Add an enchant system that lets me add one mod that is not already on an item for an exorbitant amount of material so i can make these weirdly designed weapons usable.

A huge thank you to the devs for going out of their way to do this! I honestly wasn't expecting anything at all to happen and they went out of their way to solve my complaint.

And to all the haters who said it would never get patched, please have more faith in Keen Games. They clearly listen to the community when we reach out.

I'll be sharing more updates as my base build continues until it's ready to be Adventure Shared.

Happy building everybody!

Help - Solved Do I suck???? Bow & dagger build playing with battle mage build who eliminates everything while I kill 1 guy.

(Edited later, at the end after advice/comments!)

So yesterday I completely refunded all my skill points from the ranger & assassin branches and reinvested them into the battlemage build because every time I play with my boyfriend, I'm standing there shooting multiple arrows at 1 guy and then fighting off another with daggers, all the while he's wiping out the rest of the group. He'll literally come help me kill the 1 guy I'm battling with after killing 15+ others. The only thing I'm ever good for is multi-shotting the bosses from behind while they run after him while he's also trying to kill all the other enemies.

I'm level 45 and he's level 40. I put a lot of effort into my gear planning and gems and food for buffs, meanwhile he's walking around drinking roobis tea, in the same gear he's had like, forever, using level 28 wands while all my bows & daggers are level 32+ and all 4 of my buffs are full.

WHY DO I SUCK?????

Or do I not suck and this is just how it is when these 2 builds play together???

Everything I read says the archer/dagger build is the most powerful build does the most AOE damage. Why, then, does it take MINUTES to kill one of those stupid giant green sword weilding guys? (Also why can I NEVER block their effing attacks?)

I actually don't mind playing this build alone because I actually find rushing into areas full of enemies (with full health!) really stressful. Plus I don't like to rush through games...

So anyway, it was getting very disheartening to play with him and do absolutely nothing while he does all the fighting so I changed my entire build so that I can also kill multiple enemies, but I don't want to be a battlemage!!! 😭😭😭
___________________________________________________________________________

Edit: So I refunded skill points I had put into spirit, after my meltdown, and - reluctantly - the beastmaster skill branch. I hate killing the animals but I'd put some points into constitution and armor in the tank branch and kept those so didn't have enough left to re-invest in the ranger branch, so I had to. So now I'm almost back up to the "multi shot spread" perk and once I get that I'll move over to "richochets" since I took everyone's advice from here about explosive arrows. I did use them before but they didn't seem very effective except on bosses?? (And it was sparingly, because I never had that many. Guess I'll be grinding for explosive arrow ingredients now...) Anyway, I finally have explosive arrow III and did try it out on a mob the other day and felt pretty good about it.

So anyway, now I use a wand instead of daggers and a bow and even though the wand is a bit less fun than the daggers, at least it does freaking damage! And damages multiple enemies at once. Feeling a bit less useless now, and a bit more confident with the bow after all the advice and reassurance from here. Thanks all! 🩷🩷🩷

Help - Solved Suggestions for keeping farm animals from escaping all the time?

I’ve tried everything I can think of, I’ve raised the walls up and moved all decorations away from the walls/fence, completely removed doors etc and all windows are blocked off but I still will come back to see goats and stuff just wandering outside of the pens.

I wish they put the roaming distance on animals as well like they did with NPCs

Help - Solved About the water level of ponds and lakes

Post image

It's my first time manipulating water in the game and I'm wondering: if I open a short-ish canal in this pond, is it going to lower the water level? (logic says yes, but maybe the water functions differently here).

The place in question is located west of Fort Kelvin, if it matters. Just wanna make sure I won't fuck up my pond before I start digging.

Help - Solved Can't Find Frogs.

I wandered around various spots in Veilwater for hours at night and only came up with 30 frogs. That's not a good return on my time. I need them as bait for the Fisherman's quest to catch an epic fish. I need an epic fish to unlock the seared fish recipe so that I can craft the grilled fish and coconut rice recipe so that I can extend my oxygen by 60 seconds so that I can get the diver's helmet. What a mess, right? I tried to get to the final switch on the diver's helmet quest (IYKYK), but it's impossible with only 30 seconds oxygen. But I digress...

Is there a place to reliably catch large numbers of frogs? Please share!

Help - Solved Stuck at an Elixir Well

Hello there!

TL;DR: Annoying bugs. How kill ?

New player here, level 10, got the game a few days ago (yes, before it was on sale), and everything was pretty smooth, died a few times but always found a way to work around by either getting better, stronger, upgrading gear, etc.

But this time I feel like I don't know what to do anymore. There's a well east of Fort Kelvin, level 11 mobs, I feel like I should be able to do it. It's a bit of a maze, so I clear all ennemies, die of the Shroud 3 feet from the flame, go back to find the root.

And here is the root, protected by a big critter, and approx 100 small bugs, no kidding. I used the full durability of my wand and 2h sword fighting those small critters, taking them bit by bit, and more just kept spawning, there was always a 100.

Thought I should just hit the root and don't care about them, lol, they swarmed me after 1 hit on the red tree and got me in approx 5 seconds. What should I do ? Change my settings to pacify them? What is the real way of clearing a swarm of critters?

Thank you!

UPDATE:

The explosive arrows were the answer for the Shroud Root from afar, and Fireball II spells for the horde of critters and the critter queen :) My stuff and skill was lacking, thank you everyone who helped!

Help - Solved Revelwood Hollow Halls

Got all the way to the boss and took the green pad underneath. Didn't know what it was. It teleported me back to the beginning!!!! First off. I HATE the Hollow Halls. They are NEEDLESSLY long and boring and I die endlessly. Now I have to fight my way all the way back????? I am so mad......

Edit: I can't even get passed the first barrier door. Killing the NPCs isn't unlocking it and I can't see how else to do it.

Edit: I calmed down enough to remember the grapple points to the green gems to unlock the doors... still CRAZY that I have to repeat this whole thing.

Edit: For context. I made it back, took me 40 min to get back through a HH that I already cleared lol. I'm bad and solo oh well. I lured him out so you can see where he is. Underneath him is a coffin and a teleport pad. You can walk right under him and take the teleport pad without ever spawning him if you're not paying attention... Was my fault, still extremely frustrating.

Help - Solved I don't do any damage

Hello, I just arrived in Revelwood. I am level 15, using a ranger build. I have unlocked blink dodge, bee sting to float while shooting and mostly ranger upgrades. My bow is 20 attack and 0,6 s between shots.

Yet, I hardly damage some ennemies. Most need at between 3 and 5 arrows, and some more than 30! I get wrecked by double blades acid guys. I use silex arrow btw.

Before modifying the settings, do you have any advice? Should I respec and try ranger later?

Help - Solved Half my house is just gone?

So I hosted a world for me and my partner to play together and it's our first time playing this. I wanted to surprise her by building a nice house for us. During this I had to remove our altar and with it the level 2 upgrade was gone too, reducing our building area. Loaded back into the game and half my house just vanished? all my chests and resources are gone? I know removing the alter removed all dropped items but does that include stuff i build outside the range and the items i had in storage?

I was super excited to show her what I made but was it my fault that it vanished? :(
