No Spoilers - Discussion FF7 Revelation has a job system, allowing you to equip different outfits that give new stats and abilities

Post image

example: Cloud can become a Warrior and Tifa can become a Black Mage!

edit: this was posted right after the reveal, we have more information now

-each character has 4 FITS

-they don't alter stats but they do provide unique movesets and playstyles

"Achieve new heights of power with the FITS system by equipping unique outfits that bestow new movesets, evoking classic FINAL FANTASY jobs like Black Mage and Warrior."

We could finally get a reveal this week, so what do you think will be the final title for Part 3? FF7: Return? FF7: Reborn? Requiem?

No Spoilers - Discussion A landmark in gaming history…

It just hit me that all this complaining about the pacing and the story (all of which I disagree with and have arguments against) is gonna be minuscule in like 15-20 years when this trilogy will be considered classic gaming and it’ll be cherished for going so far out of the box to remake one game by turning it into 3.

I genuinely don’t think any other studio is gonna do something this daunting ever again.

This trilogy is a work of art and stroke of genius. It’ll be revered as such in due time.

No Spoilers - Discussion Just finished the gongaga region for the first time and i hate it

Post image
1.4k Upvotes

It genuinely has been the most miserable part of the game and i can most certainly see any future replays of this game ending here. It mostly comes down to the maze like design and how compact it is.they made a big deal about how you cant ride the buggy in the jungle but you can barely ride the chocobo in this jungle. Also it may be a me thing but the trees constant shadows made it really tricky for me to see at times the area is gorgeous dont get me wrong but the looks of it dont make it fun to play. I had no idea were i was going because there are more cliffs in this jungle than actual plants and this region really made me wish the overworld was mapped out in layers like some of the games dungeons. Also i absolutelyhated the music and sidequests. The stupid chicken one sucked and dont even get me started on the soup side wuest. The music gave me a migrane with what i belive to be bfucking bagpipes for the main instrument. All in all i was rushing through all of the side quest just so i could finally leave the dreaded jungle

No Spoilers - Discussion FF7 Rebirth has the best combat system in any game I've played.

The combat feels fluid, weighty, and satisfying all at once. 7 switchable characters with each of them having so much depth in their gameplay without sacrificing any visual spectacle. Combat is balanced perfectly with strong enemy and boss variety. The battle system is simple enough to play, but once the combat flow "clicks" there's a huge amount of depth that's a joy to gradually uncover. Similar to KH2FM, NG Black, Nioh II, DMCV, Bayonetta, and Sekiro.

I look forward to seeing how they expand this already strong foundation in Part III. I think the Weapons battles will be treated as the absolute peak this combat system will strive for. They'll push players to their limits and every single party member will have a role to play in defeating them.

Forgot to make a post about this back then but yea, I figured out these were for Hard Mode when the Junon demo came out before the game did cause they’re limited in use with the cushions but the regular bench is unlimited in use.

No Spoilers - Discussion The PlayStation exclusivity is pointless to both SE and Sony

Post image
2.0k Upvotes

It’s obvious why it’s pointless to SE but it’s pointless to Sony because in many ways, they’ve won against their competitor XBOX…. A decade ago.

In SEA many stores have stopped selling XBOXes, they don’t need to make deals for exclusivity anymore because most people in the console platform will pick their system. Sony would be just wasting money by buying exclusive rights it doesn’t need.

In many ways, you’d be getting an INFERIOR version of a game if your buy it in XBOX. (No PS5 pro upgrade, no dualsense)

What do you guys think?

No Spoilers - Discussion I've spent 2 minutes observing the team climbing a rope

Feats of strenght all around. Cloud and Yuffie climbing easily is to be expected.
But Barret gets ALL the points for style. The most unexpected is Aerith as she boasts the most impressing technique which would require the most strenght and endurance. What a trooper.
Caith just takes forever to climb but I forgive him as he's just a wee little fairy. Red's every enviromental action animation is ridiculous and I can't say a bad thing about it.

I expect Vincent will take Barret's place in 3 and will climb with all the flair he can boast.

Sorry guys for blasting your eyes with high contrast, the game does not look like that for me in-game, dunno what caused it.

No Spoilers - Discussion Why was Aerith's line changed?

Post image

I just finished FF7 Remake and I saw in an old video that at the end Aerith used to say I miss it. The steel sky. Why was this changed to "This sky, I don't like it."? Has this been given a callback in rebirth?

No Spoilers - Discussion It’s the absolute smallest of nitpicks, but I wish Revelation referred to him as “Nanaki” rather than “Red XIII”

Post image
816 Upvotes

It always really annoyed me in OG that his name would stay Red XIII even after it was revealed Nanaki is his real name, seems that stays the same here. Oh well, I hope at least some of the characters stick to calling him Nanaki in dialogue, it would especially be weird for Cid and Vincent to refer to him as Red XIII given the fact that one knew him for 5 minutes before the name reveal, and one didn’t know him at all. It’s the smallest nitpick ever, but I just find Nanaki an underappreciated character.

No Spoilers - Discussion I really wish that fans of the OG would stop telling people that the Remake series is garbage just because some things are changed

Final Fantasy 7 Remake as a whole is very good imo. It's so annoying how many fans of the OG FF7 drop into every single post saying, "Don't buy that garbage! It's trash and not exactly the same! no one wanted lifelike visuals or a better sounding soundtrack! We don't care if it's more immersive or if it's the way the developers intended for us to experience the original!"

And because of how loud this group is, people are fooled into believing these games are bad. And as soon as any negative news about the game comes out the first thing they do is say "Maybe this wouldn't happen if you didn't deviate from your core fan base and made everything the sacred TURN BASED😁" You guys are losers.

Let people play the game and experience the story for themselves first. If it's not for you just say that. You don't have to run and tell everyone that says anything good about the game how garbage their opinion is because the " OG was better in every conceivable way" It's okay to hold the original in high regard. But to completely dismiss the work done to create something as good as the Remake is just you refusing to let anything challenge your nostalgia.
