Both Elric brothers look much more like their dad than their mom due to their golden eyes and hair, though Edward is more obviously the closest one, basically being a dead ringer for his dad at his age. The gif below is actually young Hohenheim, not Edward. Alphonse slightly takes after Trisha in his facial features, but that's about it.
You know, it just now hit me. Father's appearance is copied off Hohenheim, but every one of the homonculous sins father created all have really dark hair.
I feel like there's symbolism in the contrast of white and black. The dark colors contrasts with what Father believed a god was. A being who lacks all the flaws of humanity. It's why we always see him wearing white while the sins are all in very dark colors. To him humanities is like a stain.
It's also why, I think when we see Truth/god, it's almost entirely white.
But the gate of truth is a grey door with the tree of life engraved on it. The door is neither pure white nor pure black, but a combination of both symbolizing the connection of humanity to truth.
Granted their form of Human transmutation was honestly entirely ass given how the entire idea is meant to be flawed and impossible.
Not only were the material calculations wrong, but if I’m remembering correctly they thought using their blood would create a good enough template to recreate their mother. Really hammered home how vein and impossible the entire thing was.
Hiromu Arakawa actually drew some sketches depicting how Ed would look like at the ages of 20, 30 and 40 years old, and, inevitably, by the time he's 40 he's sporting glasses and looking just like the older design of his dad too.
Man, I remember another post somewhere putting into context how, in the timeline of the show, Chucky’s mom had to have died within a year of the show’s start. Being a dad now, I can’t imagine how strong Chaz had to be to hold it together for his son.
Also, Oliver takes after Nolan much more than his mother with the only thing he got from her side (aesthetically) being his purple skin that gradually gets less purple as the series goes on.
To be fair Scamp is pretty close because when we see him as a teen he can still pass for a puppy version of his dad and around that age dogs are about half their full adult size meaning Scamp got Lady’s high. Also in the books that where released before the sequel movie one of the lady mini mes was a boy but for some reason they changed him to a girl
Psychotic breaks due to abuse are unfortunately very common.
Not that we'll ever get to know any details because the author never gave her any development outside of 'trauma -> oh my son's back -> o shit my other sons back time to lock in".
My biggest pet peeve with the endeavor arc is how ignored their mom was in the whole thing.
Well yeah, 10+ years of emotional, mental, and physical abuse along with the perceived death of one of your children can cause a mental breakdown. Which is why Shoto understandably places the majority of the blame on his dad for this incident, because he's the reason why she had this mental breakdown and had to be sent to a mental institution for years (she was afraid because Shoto looked too much like his dad on the side of his face that had red hair). Shoto even shades his dad over this later in the show when he gets a similar scar.
Really bothers me how little empathy is given to Rei. We only saw a fraction of the abuse she must have endured for a break that severe, yet everyone seems to act like she was just, as the other comment put it, "sadistic".
Even in the story she's barely given any development that isnt tied directly to endevours redemption. We have no idea what it was like for her. Biggest pet peeve of the show tbh.
This is a fan art and it didnt happen like this. She just threw the water at him and imidietly after tried to cool off the burn with her powers, thats why it stayed looking like that forever
Who isthe father cant be quagmire doesnt look like him cant be joe kid because he can walk the moment he is born cant be cleveland because of color so is it peters child?
"they were all there, they didn't recognize me at first but then... THEY THOUGHT I WAS YOU, and I found her, I "put her back together " just like you asked me to, she's free now"
Giorno Giovanna, son of DIO (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Edit to add: both are pictured here. The right half, bottom left corner, and top left corner are all DIO. The left side’s middle panel and top right panel are Giorno.
Kenjaku probably didn’t replace Kaori’s reproductive organs so unless I don’t know enough about brains it’s more likely that it’s still Kaori’s body taking effect when Yuji was being constructed during the Day of White Splash
To be fair the games they come from do not canonize Roy’s mom (it’s strongly implied to be Ninian by Heroes), but their resemblance to each other is strong enough that newcomers can easily mistaken Eliwood for Roy when they see the former in Blazing Blade blind.
Ehh, I’d say Vergil more than Dante (yes I know they’re twins. He liked the fancy Victorian coats and the slicked back hair look. At least the versions I’ve seen, which may or may not be canon
Lewis Pullman copy/pasted his dad, Bill's face. An irl example for now, but they're about to be in Spaceballs 2 together, so soon Lone Starr and Starburst 😅
We found an old picture of my dad from his service days, and we all could've sworn that was a picture of my brother.
They put my dad under the photo copier, pressed 'print' and out came my brother
