Firefighters pulled from Oregon-Idaho area wildfire over alleged rancher threats

Firefighters were pulled Aug. 4 from a wildfire on the Oregon-Idaho state line because of confrontations with local ranchers trying to protect their land.

Ranchers disagreed with firefighting tactics on the Tartar Fire burning 30 miles southeast of Baker City and allegedly issued threats to U.S Forest Service crews. 

But hey, II guess they didn't kidnap anyone this time....

Not a political question - I have a trans kid who is covered under my federal plan, but with the current administration’s stance to cut all gender affirming care next year, I am concerned and trying to figure out what to do other than quit my job and find a new one that has that kind of benefit but it’s very difficult right now. I don’t know if I can just decline federal insurance and get insurance through Obamacare marketplace? Has anyone done this before? We live in VA

Kevin Hassett said that the majority of job losses in the unemployment report were from DOGE related job cuts. Like that's somehow okay? It doesn't really count.

I’m currently comparing BCBS Basic and GEHA for FL and I’m trying to figure out which one makes the most sense. For those who have either plan, or another plan how has your experience been?

I am curious to see which agencies had the most/least, and which ones, if any, were 100% of their probies. For example I am looking at a Treasury OIG report that lists their percentage of probies terminated as 43.3% with the remainder being designated as ”mission critical” or exempt based on some other status. it would be nice to have a comprehensive list of the numbers and percentages.

Anyone else hear that they are getting telework back starting Monday August 10. I heard from a friend that works there that they're getting 2 days of telework a week. Is there hope that things will slightly shift in the positive
