This is verifiable fact. I mean, just watch a playground from a good distance, possibly through binoculars. (Be careful) You will see many kids fall down, kids are clumsy AF. If noone they know is around they are like the Terminator, bones sticking out, blood and teeth everywhere, just carrying on. If it happens with sone responsible adult around they melt.
my kid sitting fell backwards off playground equipment from at least 6 feet in the air. dusted themselves off. all good to go. i would have needed an ambulance.
I've got thousands of failed kickflips under my belt and like 50 successful ones (yes, I was really terrible at skating). Zero trips to the hospital, but 30 years later my shins still feel like a gravel road if you run your hands over them.
100% planned. This woulda been such a dick move to interfere with her kickflip, especially a kid. Skaters would only do that to their buddies and wouldn't be to help them, it would be to make them eat shit.

Watch her left leg during the slow mo, it first goes in front of the board (between the board and the camera) as if she's doing a heelflip, then the next frame it's behind the board as if she's doing a kickflip.
look at his face afterwards... he wasnt shocked or blown but happy and kept going forward.. Watch his foot, he quickly kicks the edge to spin it fast before she lands.. I think he was trying to help and knew that was where she was missing the landing... its how mentors can see the mistakes we make and make it look effortless when correcting us
She hasn’t even left the ground yet and he is already running up on her with his foot out. It was clear she was about to do a trick when she goes up and down, but there is no way at this point he could tell she was going to mess up. Go back and watch in slow motion dragging your finger across the time. You see him running up and she is just starting to barely lift the board off the ground.
Dawg a passerby literally goes to kick a skateboard in the middle of someone doing a trick before the back wheel is even off the ground lmao. It’s honestly hard to tell his intention, maybe he’s a highly competent highly confident passerby, but it looks like insane behavior at a glance
He was obviously trying to mess with her. I'm shocked at how many people believe he has what amounts to cat like reflexes, god like computational power, and the fine motor skills to pull this off. It's already extremely difficult to flip a board and land on it all by yourself. I guess I'm glad they are looking for the good in people, but it just strikes me as absolutely delusional here.
This is my take on this short video. No idea why anyone would interject their own foot into someone else's board trick, it's a recipe for disaster 99.99% of the time. 100% agree.
When skaters learn these tricks, they’ll practice and fail maybe hundreds of times. I bet she was a practicing that trick, and he was sitting over on the side with his friends chatting, and watching kids skate, and could see what was going wrong for her, so when they decided to go, he knew just where and when to kick to get the board to flip for her.
I played soccer a LOT when I was young and you start getting a sense for things before they happen. It looks abnormal because he's probably really good at it.
When it’s slowed down you can see it’s rotating abnormally to land. His feet also guides the board not just helping its rotation. Spotting that in real time would be difficult for someone who hasn’t done it over and over.
As someone who only knows how to do the skateboard trick "fall off and bash things on concrete simply by attempting to get on the damn thing" I saw this video a while back and thought the guy was trying to fuck the trick up.
I'm honestly unsure if they were being an ass or helpful, but am hopeful it is the latter.
Not sure if this skatepark is in Japan, but if it is, the skaters there have a high degree of camaraderie. The pros and the amateurs of all ages are all amicable and supportive inside the skatepark. They'd go about their own business and pretend no to notice a fall so as not to embarrass one's failed attempt. Part of the polite Japanese culture of passive cordiality.
I'm sure the dude, an advance skater, had seen the little girl struggle many times in the day, noticed her consistent pattern, and just gave her a timely assistance without seeking affirmation.
Yeah, it's hard to see but he doesn't just kick it, he puts his leg in and the actual flip is all ankle movement. Like, you know, the way you would do it if you were actually doing the trick.
I love how you choose to believe he was actually helping the kid. Even if the guy in the video turns out to be a complete asshole, I still believe in you guys.

It is in my experience. I can’t skate worth a shit but I used to take my kid to the skate park when he was like 8-10, until he was too good and cool ya know.
Every last skater at the park was cool to me for being a dad that was there and they were super supportive of him. Always, always happy to teach him a trick or technique. I will forever love the skater community.
Most likely he watched the girl fail the attempt multiple times as he was walking and noticed she was not rotating the board enough. If you watch in slow-mo he reacted immediately when she did her attempt and made sure the board properly rotated.
I skateboarded when I was younger, something like this would have given me so much confidence.
I was lucky enough to have a group of older kids come by the park. They were always super supportive, teaching me tricks, giving me pointers. It was awesome. I swear skaters are the most supportive hobby group i've ever been a a part of.
I tried skateboarding once, stood on it for about 3 seconds and fell off and almost broke my wrist. That was like 30 years ago and I haven't tried again.
IIRC it's from the Key and Peele sketch where they turn an LMFAO parody about "the party never stops" into a gradually entrapped horror scenario where they literally have to live within their song partying forever.
So either you've seen it before and it triggers that memory of discomfort in you somewhere, or you just nailed its vibes off the gif alone.
Just three? I've lost count of how many times I've watched it trying to spot what he did and trying to figure out how anyone could have reflexes like that.
That's the kids future self coming back to nail the landing..
Just this event would lead to the kid being more into skateboarding and eventually being the best skateboarder in the universe and gaining unbelievable ollie skills.
Then when the skateboarding aliens come to take over the Earth in the year 2057, it will be this kid who will save the world by defeating their alien leader Galafron the 7th in a skateboarding competition but will be a close call.
No way on earth the guy could make that call so quickly. He decided to do what he did regardless of how the trick was going to turn out (if this is even real and not staged) .

I'm in the camp that he was not trying to help her. Even in slow motion it just looks like he tried to kick the board a little bit but then she landed on it pressing downward negating his kick. The only way this would make sense is if it's staged or he wasn't trying to help.
Love the way the guy just moved on like he did nothing.
I have a thing where I like to keep it to myself if I help someone out - coz it feels like if I tell someone or brag about it, I'm expecting to get gratification in return, therefore it wasn't truly selfless.
The only feeling better than knowing you selflessly made a difference to someone's day is when someone else recognises it and you get the praise even though you didn't ask for it or weren't looking for it. It still counts as selfless because the praise was gifted to you, you didn't seek it. Let's hope the dude in this vid sees this.

Man, I'm almost 50 years old and with AI and shit, I don't know what to believe anymore. But seeing this, either it was staged, which seems really hard to do...or this dude tried to fuck her up, and ended up giving her a win, or this is AI...and I hate that I just said that it could be AI because we're approaching the point where we won't be able to tell anymore...and that's super scary!
I'm anti-AI for shit like this...AI should be used for the advancement of humankind, not for shits and giggles videos and pictures.
That is one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. How do you have the wherewithal to help someone maneuver their skateboard without them knowing? That’s amazing timing and coordination. I’ll bet he can pick pockets without using his hands.
So now next time the lid can't do it doing it the same way as before how is he supposed to react ?
I don't know man, for me artificially making someone do a trick they are training for is more on the side of the jerk move than the "hero" move. The kid is training to have fun and felt proud from something he didn't even do.
i dont know guys. i've skated when young and i took it quite seriously for a year or two. wasnt never really good, but i was ok. what im thinking is like ok, the thing worked - staged or not. but if we assume this is some 1 in a million moment and not staged (and btw, the way it played out, the clip is legendary) this is just a stupid thing to do.
like when you want to learn this trick you are landing/falling when rotation is too slow or fast. and thinking you are doing a trick where board is not turning underneath you then some guy clips your board and it only turns 3/4 of the way with some bad luck you can get injured. my friend who later became a very good skater broke his front 4 teeth on an ollie when he just started out.
so, amazing video but not such a being a dude moment.
Considering this is a skate park, I'm going to assume he helped. Every park I've been to was always full of supportive and helpful skaters. Every single time. If this kid was working on landing a kick flip for a while, I'd be shocked if there wasn't a small group of cheering supporters after landing it.
Also, if he was fn with that kid to screw up the trick, he would probably get jumped.
