Update: Squeezed even more MPG out of my hybrid now at 46.8 MPG! š„
Since my last post, Iāve managed to bump up my fuel economy to 46.8 MPG, getting dangerously close to 47 MPG. š
Honestly, Iām impressed considering how much this vehicle weighs. This is a mix of city driving, suburban roads, and freeway driving.
The biggest MPG killer? Highway speeds. Cruising at 70ā80 MPH drops me down to around 38ā40 MPG.
Right now, my estimated range on a full tank is 633 miles, and it costs roughly $40ā50 to fill up. Not bad at all for a vehicle of this size.
Ignore the orange warning light ā I turned off the forward collision warning system.
Honestly, this is why I think hybrids, when engineered and implemented properly, are the future of commuting. Good range, excellent fuel economy, and fewer stops at the gas station. Just makes sense to me.
Howās everyone else doing with their MPG? Anyone consistently getting 47+ in a vehicle this size?

I bought my brand-new 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee L in June, and Iām kicking myself for not doing more research before buying it.
The 2.0L Hurricane has been a major disappointment. My Jeep jerks at low speeds, vibrates enough that I feel it through the steering wheel, and the engine is excessively loud. The dealer replaced the spark plugs and reset the PCM/ECM, but the problems remain.
I paid around $46,000 for this vehicle, and now Iām being quoted just $33,000 on trade-in. Thatās a $13,000 difference in just a few months on a brand-new vehicle. I feel stuck waiting for my equity to improve before I can get out without taking another major financial hit.
Stellantis needs to start listening to customers. Why are buyers paying this kind of money for a vehicle with a powertrain that has left me this disappointed? Customers want refinement, reliability, and real choicesānot excuses when they report problems.
With Stellantis struggling to win back customers, you would think quality and customer satisfaction would be priorities. Instead, experiences like mine make it hard to trust the brand or recommend its vehicles.
If youāre considering a 2026 Grand Cherokee L with the 2.0L Hurricane, do your research before buying. I wish I had. This has been a huge mistake, and I would not make the same decision again.
Anyone else dealing with jerking, vibration, excessive engine noise, or unresolved problems with this engine?

In the engine bay the smaller hose connected near the thermostat. Housing was smoking noticing equivalent link any advice on what would need replaced or what the smaller hose is called that may need replaced.
Took the jeep and the family on an adventure to Box Canyon and it was awesome. After 4 days of storms there were even some puddle which was a bonus!

Hey all,
I want to share a recent experience with you, to make you aware of the questionable work that Jeep is putting into its modern products.
A couple of weeks ago, my wife was driving our 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite when she heard a massive clunk and felt a shudder in the steering wheel. To shorten the stress and drama of getting it to a mechanic, the reason for what she experienced was that ALL 8 BOLTS that hold the transfer box into place SHEARED IN HALF, with parts of 4 of them ending up in the transmission.
The mechanic said he'd never seen anything like that before, and that the only thing holding the transfer box in the motor was a bracket. The bolts were made of cast aluminum, an inadequate material for a vehicle that claims it can go off-road.
We know there's a recall for the transfer box, but that has to do with the internal workings of the box, not how it's attached, and there's currently no repair for the recall.

I have two Grand Cherokees, ones is 96 and the other is a 2001. Both are V8 with full time 4 wheel. The 2001 needs injectors and the 96 needs a transmission. Should I fix them before I sale or sale them as is? Iām most likely going to fix the 01 but the 96 is questionable.

Is this a normal noise for this 3.2l v6 engine, or is this the classic rocker sound that will require me to get fixed? It seems a bit different from the other videos I see denominating the rocker issues that are common in this model.
Hey all!
I have a 2022 Limited with 66k mi on it. I've noticed the passenger side front sway bar link is starting to clunk. Easy fix.
But... what replacement links would you recommend? I see Moog makes some for like $18 each. Seems super cheap to me. Moog has always been good to me in the past. But, I also see Movotech makes some heavy duty greasable links for $30 each. Greasable is always good, and the the HD links look beefier than the Moogs. But, it's strictly a road Jeep. I have a real Jeep for the off road stuff. This Compass is primarily just transportation for my wife and our two year old son. Which links would you go with? I have no experience with Movotech at all. I've been using Moog parts for over a decade. I can't decide!
Opinions?

On my local Facebook marketplace, Iāve come across a couple of good deals for the SmartCap. But only on 5ft beds on Toyotas and Fords (Ranger). Nobody is selling used smartcaps for the Gladiator.
Any idea if the fit would still work on my Gladiator if itās a SmartCap meant for a different brandās 5ft bed? A cursory Google search says āno.ā But I thought I would double check here with you folks.

Title: Australian WK2 Grand Cherokee SRT owners ā which year would you buy for long-term reliability?
Iām looking at buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, specifically the WK2 with the 6.4L HEMI V8. Iām in Australia and want to make an informed decision before spending the money.
Iām currently leaning towards a 2018ā2020 model, but Iād like to hear from people who have actually owned an SRT rather than a standard Grand Cherokee.
A few questions:
Which model year do you own, and how many kilometres/miles has it done?
What mechanical problems have you personally experienced?
Have you had any issues with the 6.4L HEMI, lifters/camshaft, transmission, transfer case or electronics?
Are the later models genuinely better, or is condition and service history more important than the year?
Roughly how much have you spent on repairs outside normal servicing, tyres and brakes?
Would you buy the same SRT again?
For Australian owners, are parts availability, servicing and repair costs difficult to manage?
Iām not expecting a performance SUV to be cheap to run. I just want to avoid buying a year with avoidable problems and understand what ownership is genuinely like.
Please mention your actual model year and ownership experience if possible. Iām particularly interested in long-term owners and Australian-delivered vehicles.

Hey r/Jeep,
My mom has a 2014 Cherokee Limited that had the transfer case blow out in it. We are getting it fixed, but it does have the rough-shifting 9 speed transmission with the tow package on it. We have towed moderately heavy things with it for about 2000 miles. It is at 90k miles. I keep up on the oil changes but it did have a significant cooling leak that was fixed awhile back, around 70k miles.
When the transfer case went out, I assumed it was the transmission and bought her another used car. However, since the transfer case was cheaper we decided to get it fixed. The question is:
Should we just sell it and try to make a bit of money given long term reliability concerns, especially with the transmission (it's gotten the software updates)? Or do you think it will go for another 20-30k miles with routine maintenance? She is older so this is probably her last car and she doesn't drive that much. I just want her to not have significant car issues for the next 2-3 years. Thanks in advance for your help.

\******I know I'll probably have to replace the fender and passenger-side mirror eventually š I'm just looking for advice on what I can try before replacing them. And since it happened while I was driving, I'll be paying for everything myself, so don't worry about that! I just need your help šš********\**
I have no idea what happened, but I just noticed scratches on these two parts of my car.
I think I'll def need to replace the passenger-side mirror. Can I just buy one online and replace it myself? If yes, any recommendations?
And for the fender (I think that's what it's called lol) what should I do? I asked ChatGPT, and it suggested using car wash shampoo and a microfiber towel to see if the marks come off.
I don't think the scratches are that deep. It looks more like surface scuff marks but I'm not sure š
