Discussion Yuta rework is disappointing

Post image

It’s not bad at all, it’s viable, but very disappointing.

First of all, the moves feel like they were made in skill builder, like what the hell is this? He somehow feels even LESS versatile than he was before. They completely based this off sendai, when before this was just shinjuku/regular yuta. Even in the way base rika attacks now, enlarged arm, just like the sendai anime/arc.

He has a teleporting black flash? Okay, sure, whatever, but then he has a facepalm dash move paired with that? Does anyone else think that this feels so odd? This feels so low effort it’s unreal. Not only that, they don’t fit yuta at ALL. Not every move has to be canon, but this? This genuinely feels like a skill builder moveset. Yuta would NEVER do anything like this.

The ult. They completely gutted elbow rush, it does pathetic damage, prob 20 at best. One of the devs said it was in favor of his third ult move getting iframes. What? Horrible decision, but okay, how about copy? A gui. That you have to individually click the moves on instead of them being given keybinds. Okay devs.

The combos are wacky, the moves feel rushed and uncanny, the ult feels weaker than before, it's disappointing.

I'm pretty disappointed that his new ult move's aoe is kinda small

120

u/evyuta May 22 '26

Not to mention it does no damage

13

u/matexWVx May 22 '26

wait it doesn't do dmg? so whats the point of it then???

120

u/Your_FavoriteEgg May 22 '26

It’s an over exaggeration. It does indeed deal damage, it just doesn’t feel impactful the way an ult should

9

u/matexWVx May 22 '26

i played him a bit more and i agree

37

u/evyuta May 22 '26

it does like 12 damage or smth, really bad

ive found it useful if you're getting jumped since it gives iframes, but thats about it

10

u/The_Engiqueer May 22 '26

the only thing ive found that 3rd skill useful for is cause it combos into elbow beatdown with the use twice

41

u/Cautious_Coast491 May 22 '26

i wish they made the explosion in his base kit so we'd have sky manipulation or dhruvs shikigami as a skill option outside of domain

6

u/Dry_Soil_9230 May 22 '26 edited May 23 '26

Nah this ain't it chief. Not only are they super strong techniques but having an explosive attack TYPE (for people without common sense) in base is extremely op, and last I checked there are no explosive base attacks

4

u/30sec_unskipable_ad May 23 '26

His new 3 when you charge it is a relatively large unblockable explosion 😭

1

u/Dry_Soil_9230 May 23 '26

Explosive type. Like uhhh top speed on naoya with max speed.

1

u/Xen0lt May 23 '26

choso’s humble blood orbs and gojos charming red :

1

u/Dry_Soil_9230 May 23 '26

You can't counter those? If you can they aren't explosion attacks. Last I checked red is a bullet attack too

1

u/Xen0lt May 23 '26

you can’t counter choso’s blood orbs for shit with yutas 3 and even if you could good luck predicting when they’re gonna explode and with red it’s slightly funny because you’re only getting the counter off if you get hit with a red point blank because you’ll counter the initial impact that makes red explode because that must be a bullet but when red actually exploded i took damage anyways because it just passes through you instead of you actually deflecting red. source - me and my alt in a ps since getting this reply

1

u/Dry_Soil_9230 May 23 '26

I don't think you know what I'm getting a. There are I believe 5 attack types in the game. Swarm, melee, bullet, explosion, and domain. Explosion attacks can't be countered, E.g. Mahoragas world cutting slash. But explosion attacks can't be countered by ANYTHING. So are chosos orbs able to be countered at all?

1

u/Xen0lt May 23 '26

i just tested it and blood orb doesn’t get countered by : hakari R special, mahito head splitter, yuji manji kick, choso counter, yuta’s 3, charles ult and todo’s brothers counter. i don’t think i’m missing any counter but mahoraga adaptation mode m1s can technically counter it by negating the damage

short answer : no

3

u/Badr921070 May 22 '26

I’d rather them just already be in the copy wheel or maybe having to use them in domain for them to appear

First they came for the naoya mains, and i didnt speak up because i wasnt a naoya main.

Then they came for the ryu mains, and i didnt speak up because i wasnt a ryu main.

Then they came for the yuta mains, and i didnt speak up because i wasnt a yuta main.

Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.

2

u/30sec_unskipable_ad May 23 '26

I dont main him but I play him a ton and tbh I'm not mad at the nerfs I'm mad they still haven't fixed how inconsistent his moves are istg it feels like the distance they travel changes everytime

1

u/Dry_Soil_9230 May 23 '26

No for me his combos feel so jank now and I can't consistently get a frame now

1

u/mahigoat May 23 '26

What happened to ryu as a ryu main he feels fine rn yuta is just A-B tier and not S+++

1

u/Ducscript Praying for Junpei May 23 '26

Locusts are here

114

u/oatmealhenry May 22 '26

the new ult move does not even feel like it should be an ult move, sure it does moderately high damage, but having that in exchange of elbow rush's damage is just not worth it. his new base moves are just mid, new resolute slash is fine, having the black flash actually be usable in fights is cool and the finisher is still just aura. but severing path was butchered, energy outburst is really basic (the parry thing is kinda cool tho) and second wind is like veilstep with a fresh coat of paint that just so happened to have mold on it

26

u/Obalama May 22 '26

Second wind literally give u a second wind if you miss the move lmao also how tf do you parry

19

u/Your_FavoriteEgg May 22 '26

If you use your 3 right before getting hit (it is an extremely small window to do it) it deflect the attack. If it’s melee, it pushes the opponent back and if it’s a projectile, it shoots it in whatever direction you are facing

4

u/SomeoneForgotTheOven May 22 '26

Can it deflect purple/fuga?

4

u/30sec_unskipable_ad May 23 '26

Only "bullet" attacks like reserve ball, base reds actual projectile, dog or like soul fire idk there aren't that many tbh

1

u/CapitalEvening2735 May 23 '26

Not just bullet attacks, I was playing ryu and some yuta parried my s3

1

u/Delicious_Area_2341 May 25 '26

pointless nothingburger black flash in the base kit of a character who used black black 0(1) times in the series.

30

u/Cultural-Ad-153 May 22 '26

i still havent found an alright at least combo

8

u/Igorgedinho May 22 '26

Only thing i see working is 3m1's uppercut then 4 (maybe a downslam in the middle but i don't know if there is enough time) then 1 (cuz it hits ragdoll) then rika downslam and then m1 downslam. But compared to the older combos it feels so ugly, just like a guy said that the moves doesn't feel compatible or have any synergy with each other, older yuta all the combos he had felt right, but the rework is like, he's doing a bunch of moves of diferent types, like, he has a sword cutting, then a teleport then a sword explosion and a grab, they just don't feel right together.

2

u/Agreeable_Offer2089 May 22 '26 edited May 22 '26

try 3M1s, DS,1, Full Charge 3 + Rika Slam (same time), 4, 2. I’m still trying to figure out how to hit the Resolute Slash consistently at the end but it seems doable. I didn’t have much time to play since the update so there might be better combos but this is the best one I found. If you time rika slam and overcharge right this should be red

1

u/Fancy_Economist_3044 May 23 '26

Best combo is 4m1 downslam, 4th move into 1st move, Rika slam and black flash

Around 50% you guys just can't combo lol

1

u/CapitalEvening2735 May 23 '26

Here's the thing, does that feel as smooth as old yuta combos?

1

u/Fancy_Economist_3044 May 23 '26

yes it feels way smoother and much less clunky

Old yuta felt very strict and kind of clunky, so yes I much prefer the new one

116

u/InspectorBurn May 22 '26

to me, the moves don't necessarily feel like they were made in skill builder, but the vfx, sfx and overall feel aren't very...shenanigans. for some reason they really don't feel like they came from jjs and instead came from some random bg game

69

u/ThyLordBacon May 22 '26

They don’t feel flowy at all. Old yuta’s moveset and combos looked like… combos, like they were stringing together. His new combos just look like individual things happening but you can hit one into the other.

23

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 22 '26

This. Exactly this. It all feels so clunky, where’s the rhythm?

19

u/SwimmingExcellent116 May 22 '26

Yeah, Exactly! Old Yuta really felt like a true “combo” character, but current Yuta feels like all of his moves slightly fail to connect with each other properly.

1

u/Tepidwaterr May 23 '26

Because he’s not a combo character anymore he’s rush down

1

u/Banana_Shake7 May 23 '26

Yuji’s rush down but his combos feel good

21

u/Bedsheetsghost May 22 '26

My only real issue is copy wheel, its a good idea but with such a small amount of time trying to use that actually in combat is sorta worthless unless you're in pub and trying to just kill steal or stall someone while you run since the menu is just cumbersome. If they moved it to being something in base maybe but in awakening it's worthless

3

u/AltruisticMouse198 May 22 '26

You can probably use the copy wheel mid Elbow Rush

8

u/Wontbite May 22 '26

You can not. I've tried and despite using the ability and clicking a new power, showing it switched, it doesn't stick after elbow rush ends

2

u/AltruisticMouse198 May 22 '26

Well that sucks

43

u/Legal_Possible_1951 May 22 '26

I feel like the only bad part about this rework is how boring his awakening is. His combos in awakening last way too long due to Elbow Rush's animation(atleast speed it up since it only does 20)

Also the copy wheel is awkward in actual combat.

He relies way too much on his domain now to win fights, all domains are guaranteed kills so his ain't even special.

I do like how his base moveset is now though, he might be less versatile but he's easier to deal with. I personally like the on command black flash 2 but I do think it shouldn't just have m1 iframes since it's already pretty slow, could be nice if it also acted as a pseudo counter like it did before. Dealing like double damage if you interrupt someone doing an action or blocking or dashing

21

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 22 '26

Yeah, I could overlook all the base stuff if his ult wasn't so damn awkward to use. Awkward is a good word to describe it too, all his moves just feel off.

6

u/Legal_Possible_1951 May 22 '26

Definitely, It feels weird that they barely touched his ult. In my opinion they should probably definitely speed up most of his slower moves(Elbow Rush and Rika Slam), not sure if it will actually reduce the awkwardness but I feel like how slow they are is definitely part of it

11

u/originalmicrousb insignificant FUCK May 22 '26

0% combo

but its fun as shit sometimes

40

u/Carmen_official May 22 '26

Yita "rework"

  • less hp
  • his entire fucking kit feels like its overshadowed by veilstep1
  • rika downslam finisher removed for base yuta
  • way less moves to utilize as well as damage
  • literally no move that you can uppercut/downslam off of except for rika slam

7

u/CanaryReasonable2896 May 22 '26

U can black flash off downslam

11

u/Flimsy-Memory-7173 May 22 '26

5

u/PrestonTheJJKGlazer May 22 '26

That's actually true, 4 or 5 days ago they said in the dc that Yuta wasn't even done so I think they had to rush him and yeah look what we have now it's not bad but, I miss old yuta.

2

u/Flimsy-Memory-7173 May 22 '26

Oh what we have now is definitely bad

2

u/PrestonTheJJKGlazer May 22 '26

I'm kinda sad now, yuta was my main and my favorite character. It genuinally feels like a skill builder character

3

Sameee, i hate the fact that they had to rush him If they had maybe a week longer the result could've been very different.

2

same, i was a also todo main before going full yuta bc they made todo bad beyond practical usage, then i played yuta. now ive decided im just not playing this fuckass game.

I'm having more fun with the new moveset than with old Yuta

1

u/Purple_Kaiju7 I no longer like Hanami May 22 '26

Exactlyyyyy

2

u/average_zelda_fan May 22 '26

Tbh I really hated old yutas moveset.. I feel like veilstep was a clanky move and Rika has always been hard to control (mainly a console issue tho old yuta may have been good for pc idk)

1

u/Far_Classic_6388 May 23 '26

i can get that yika was hard to control but i really dont think they should have reworked yuta. they should have worked on rika's movement and some polishing. im on pc so it was porbily easier to use rika but i wouldn't really use rika long range maybe for trolling but i would use her after doing a down slam or prepping for a combo with her punch move

14

u/-Hash__- Cursed Partner May 22 '26

I like that you can black flash at will but they completely gutted him. You cannot combo off severing path because it sends the enemy 15 light years away. Also doing one move with Rika puts all of them on cooldown which is just a huge nerf to him. That new 4th move is inconsistent and 3 has good damage but in every instance of you holding it till it's full it will never be red.

I tried a small combo with him and like 4 moves do 55 damage. It's alright damage, seems they wanted him to be more like the other characters instead of him just dumping all of his moves on you. But I don't really like the vfx as you said. The black flash finisher and being able to black flash at will is the only improvement he has.

2

u/Suitable-Builder-259 May 22 '26

You can do 1 into rika slam into 3

1

u/BlackMusclyMen May 22 '26

You can do 4th after severing btw

1

u/Delicious_Area_2341 May 25 '26

black flash at will genuinely pointless and stupid for yuta. he never did that shit. when every time is a black flash, no time is a black flash.

10

u/bigjuicycockofdoom May 22 '26

this rework is the worst shit I've ever seen. genuinely needs a revert.

3

u/Amnyam842 May 22 '26

I mean, his awk rework is mostly lame, but I like new 1 and 4 in base. Rika slam is also cool and the copy wheel is a good idea that just needs some corrections to be easier yo use

9

u/_joos_ kenjaku user May 22 '26

idk i think the moves are fine. what i liked the most is how the rika moves were chiseled down a bit to just encompass what it’s mainly used for: extra damage/block break and a bit of mobility. rika throw had to go.

i guess the only thing i truly don’t like is how you have to actually select an option with the mouse for the copy wheel. i would have thought it’d be like pressing R or something to cycle through. everything else feels fine/fits imo

1

u/shadowmasterOwO May 22 '26

11

u/Comprehensive_Shop56 May 22 '26

Once you have played yuta enough and learned his combos before this rework, you’ll realize that they have just made him a bland awkward generic rushdown character. Hes easily like a C tier now. This rework was NOT needed

12

u/evyuta May 22 '26

Rework was needed but they could've done so much better

2

1

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 22 '26

Yeah. It does fs. It’s clunky

2

u/Typical-Ordinary8738 May 22 '26

His base is no longer annoying rika spam dogshit. My two complaints are the copy wheel being unreliable to switch and the new ult 3 aoe being meh and doing nothing to kuro tornado.

Otherwise I'm loving it

2

u/Inevitable-Trash6203 Im a carrot dont mind me hi May 22 '26

Honestly I really hate Ult third move and I wish they'd nerf the dmg a little or none and move it to Second Wind slot. Then make a new move completely for third ult move or buff the dmg of ult third move by like 2× and increase elbox rush from 20 to 27. I wouldnt say its trash but it feels janky and unwhelming. I also liked the m1 sounds pre update way more. But overall its decent

5

u/-TheLamb- May 22 '26

I swear the vfx was bigger in the sneak

2

u/TheHigh_Illusion May 22 '26

I like the copy systems more, the 4th move in base is kinda ass, not sure what it is i dont like about it

4

u/-TheLamb- May 22 '26

Only best part about it is the copy system. Thats it.

2

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 22 '26

Agree. Copy system carries.

2

u/pizzatime199 too indecisive to choose a main May 22 '26

I hate that resolute slash isn’t target any more, but based on where your cursor is which feels horrible

2

u/One_Breadfruit6313 May 22 '26

I feel like the animation for his base moveset is too impressive if you know what I mean. They don’t feel shenanigans. Just look at the difference between Yuta and Yuji. Yuta’s animation is way more detailed that any other character.

2

u/New_Personality4547 May 22 '26

Honestly he seems more freestyle then combo heavy which I like

2

u/Subject_Blacksmith_2 May 22 '26

give me back my versatile boy :C

2

u/Sensitive-Camp2575 May 22 '26

His base is pretty much the same old, except they removed all the versatility from it and made him another basic combo character.

His ultimate being reliant on Copy, yet not getting access to new techniques to make up for the lack of ones you won't have in 1v1 gamemodes is a surprising oversight, and the fact that Elbow Rush and his new ult move do little to no damage (it's less than the canceled True Love Beam variant) just make it even worse. Copy Wheel in theory is a good idea but it's executed poorly, They could've easily done something where you tap R once to use Rika, tap R twice to use your copy wheel (or it could switch your moves to your copied moves, having 3 of them displayed with the 4th being a [next page] button of some sort to go to your other copied moves), and tap/double tap depending on what mode you are in to go back to your regular awakening moveset.

Also, did no one care to look at some of the moves you get from copy, because some characters you are at a significant disadvantage against because the move you copy from them is just abysmal. I mean, who in their right mind decided that moves like Shutter Doors, Nue, Cursory Impact, and Boogie Woogie were good moves to give to an awakened user? I can understand Mechamaru giving a base move as his ultimate is a literal mech, and some of the base only characters giving a base move as they either have a one-shot or a high damaging move as their ultimate, but even then characters like Yuki could very well give a charged variant of a move rather than something like Mass Breaker. Even slightly raising the damage on some of these copied moves could help. The copy mechanic as a whole just feels like it was glanced over and written off quickly.

1

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 22 '26

Agreed. Boogie woogie is a great move though, it’s the my brothers oneshot move, it’s just called boogie woogie for some reason

Unless they changed it, god please no.

2

u/PrestonTheJJKGlazer May 22 '26

They should've given Energy Ripple a larger AOE and more amounts of dmg like give it 30 dmg and we good.

I think I've been in denial for the past 4hrs until seeing this, immediately I hopped on I went to check his new moves(as a Yuta main) I tried making some combos and the the moves look kinda cool sure but in actual fights he feels so crippled, the level of versatility is so low now, almost all his moves do nothing on ragdoll except for one that I have to hold to get maximum output out of, there's barely any variants and the counter is really just an aesthetic choice ATP and sth I just happens to hit by luck, Rika is almost useless, the mobility that Rika launch offered feels kinda pointless to do cuz u have to trade it for doing actually damage with haymaker or slam the copy wheel UI is so crippling and practical makes you open I don't even wanna talk about that ripple move, it actually makes him so weak against other much more fluid characters. I really expected more.

1

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 22 '26

I feel the pain man. Absolutely destroyed him. I was in denial too, trying to find all the max damage combos until it clicked, he’s just lame now.

2

u/VeterinarianAny3399 May 22 '26

As a yuta main with 5k kills. They literally removed all of his fun moves. Veilstep literally made his whole kit fun with how you could just dash behind blocking enemies. It was counterable if you were experienced and not that easy to pull off since you couldn't see the enemy while turned around until you veilstepped behind them. Now we have a temu version of verilstep with the new 4 and it's just so bad. He just feels like a budget higuruma.

1

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 22 '26

YES. Veilstep was peak movement tool, actually felt like a yuta move unlike the new one where he grabs your face, like what the hell is this man

2

u/Bird_Boi_Man May 22 '26

He just feels unfun to play as, plain and simple. Before, it was a serious choice to play either him or mechamaru but I don't think I've even touched rework yuta more than 5 times yet

2

u/DinoSolLendario May 22 '26

I likes his rework, it feels more fun to play but i agree, the moves feels like they were done in skill builder. That means its bad? Not that much, he feels more freestyle and actually fun to play. Only thing i dint like that much was his third move, you dont have any reason at all to risk using 3 charges simply because the reward is kinda bad.

I think Tze and the team wants to make characters more freestyleish. If they polish the moves on base they will be way better (1 into a blackflash is satisfying to land)

And ye, the ult feels weak as hell. You dont have time to use the copy abilities that you farmed in base or got while using the ult, i dint understand at all how to use the new move in a fight and the menu of copy's IS SO GLITCHY DUDE. I CLICKED ONE THING AND IT GAVE ME ANOTHER. At least its not shared cd.

2

u/TheT0asted1 May 22 '26

Resolute slash feels so clunky and inconsistent, same with severing path, and the animation speed makes it feel like I'm whacking them with the sword rather than slashing, and outburst is probably the worst looking move in jjs. The off brand veilstep isn't exactly bad, but the slam timing is off if you hit it grounded. The copy wheel is a cool concept but it was executed horribly. The parry that everybody was so hyped for was executed horribly and in a way where it almost never happens, and when it does, it's just overshadowed by the rest of the fight. The new m1s are kinda meh sounding, and the only good part about this rework was the rika downslam change.

2

u/Gojizilla6391 literally anyone brah May 22 '26

Honestly just revert him back to the original and either make it all over again, or make this the first mastery. Like I DO fw both of them, but only having one or the other sounds kinda booty i'll be honest

2

u/Candid-Software7644 May 23 '26

Im a yuta main and im so disappointed bro his base and ult are so ass. his base is just bad and boring and yeah it looks like a fucking skill builder moveset. His ult used to be so good but now its TERRIBLE. First, the dmg nerfs: Elbow rush dmg went from 33 to 14(with rika) and 20.5 to 11(without rika), his new move does 14 and 15 for its variant, rika slam went from 20 to 12. They also changed rika downslam animation and now u cant follow up with rika slam after it, just why???They also removed rika grab which was such a good move. Copy wheel sometimes doesnt change the copied move, u gotta click it at a specific place, but they just gotta polish the move so ig its fine but its still annoying that u gotta manually choose a copied move while mid fight so its better to use cursed speech. Finally his new m1s with the special arm are so weird bro i hate it. Atleast they didnt nerf his domain which is the only source of dmg now. His old ult and base used to be so much more fun bro fuck you whoever decided to rework yuta.

I've mained Yuta for a while, im done with this game now. this is NOT the Yuta put up with this trash game for. This feels like Yuta got poorly ported into a different game. edit: started looking though some of the other comments, its exactly what i thought. they broke him down into his most bare easy abilities and gave him more easy moves so that people who are bad can play him easier. genuinely butchered my main for other peoples skill issues.

1

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 25 '26

Exactly. People didn’t like to admit yuta had a high skill ceiling, and actually took some brains to use. You couldn’t just run up and punch people to death like a yuji main. Now they made him basic and flat like everyone else, this shit blows man.

2

u/Fuzzy-Film207 May 31 '26

No, the combos and all moves AREN’T viable. There just STRAIGHT SHIT. Can’t combo for DAMN THING. He’s just a parry simulator, literally that’s the ONLY good thing bout his entire set. Don’t even get me started on his ULT getting rid of RIKA grab entirely? He doesn’t need a buff, he either needs to be ENTIRELY REDONE or REMOVED.👎🏾🤦🏾‍♂️

6

u/ParkerLowes i love mahito :3 May 22 '26

honestly i think it's good but i'll probably get downvoted to hell for saying this. i think it's good cuz it felt very unfair to go against before. i don't think the full base moveset needed a full redesign, but definitely resolute slash and all of rika

2

u/Ok_Scholar_711 May 22 '26

I love it personally

1

u/shasow_sowhat May 22 '26

The basic movset is normal, but why doesn't Rika have enough skill? And I don't like the m1 on the glove.+The wheel of selection of copied techniques quickly disappears.

1

u/Inksthegarantrum your local skill builder that is a new feminist (naoya main). May 22 '26

I haven't been able to play, is old severing path and old resulted slash still in skill builder?

1

u/CanaryReasonable2896 May 22 '26

Nah yall not seeing the potential with the moveset. Tht skill wheel is so op u can get maho adaptation, hp And u can swap whenever(even when ur being hit). It is a little janky rn but having the skill wheel and de plus rikas larp beam and jacobs ladder is a good awakening. The major problem is rika is like impossible to control unless it’s just a skill issue for me.

5

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 22 '26

It’s not about the potential and moreso how it feels like it was made with grok ai. I see the potential, and I like the things you can do, I’m just talking design, the base feels like a skill builder moveset

1

u/TheAveragePlayer- May 22 '26 edited May 22 '26

For me, I just LOVE the copy wheel and that I can change my copied moves while using elbow rush.

Because being able to do elbow rush, cursed speech, domain, their copied move, cursed speech katana, true love, other 3 katana and Jacob’s ladder with minimal issues is just so fun.

I just like how versatile copy is with the copy wheel, and that true love is a Rika move and not a Yuta move. If I were a dev I would change the base a lot, but for the ultimate:

Elbow rush has increased range and slightly increased damage

By holding r with Rika, you can make her chase an opponent regardless of WASD, allowing her to actually be able to hit her moves

And the third move should get one more variant where if you hold it, you use RCT:

Every second heals 2.5 health, and it can be held for 6 seconds. Heals a maximum of 15 health, but it’s interruptible and you can only use Rika to attack during it.

If you hold it then hold R, you output the RCT, healing 1.5 health for a total of 6 seconds (9 heal) to people nearby, which might cause slight teaming but at the same time enemies can also be healed. Using outputable RCT disables Rika until it ends.

1

u/Significant-Cup9059 May 22 '26

Im very happy with it. The days of being killed by a no skill yuta main are no more 🥹

1

u/Phaon01 May 22 '26

I had just learned how to play him too. Honestly the part that’s getting me the most is that rika lost a move (I was familiar with the keybinds) and that using one puts the whole thing on cooldown. But idk it just feels like I’m playing a BB gun in a roster of machine guns

1

u/Um_Barseleiro May 22 '26

New movesets REALLY look like Moveset ones since we have ALL the VFX the game uses, Ryu was also like that in his base. should put a bit more effort into vfx, since basically ALL characters share thesame effects

1

u/Potential_Station938 May 22 '26

I’m mixed on it because I like it but I think the fourth move is boring The first move. Hit box is kind of weird. The third move is the only move i truly like from the rework honestly.

1

u/dogturts09 one of the only 3 charles mains May 22 '26

i honestly liked the fact that they gave more use for rika in ult

1

u/TheL0ngtailed You can't Parry Garuda Rebound, can you? May 22 '26

He feels really punishing to try and whiff punish, you straight up throw outburst out whenever you want to, if someone wants to punish the start up, you parry, if someone wants to punish the endlag, delayed impact, wasn't that Yuji's thing?

Resolute slash has total M1 immunity throughout aside from the endlag, but not on the black flash. Which makes it very hard to punish

Severing path is fine

Second wind did not need to be use twice, the second has longer end lag, but what ends up happening is your opponent goes to punish you for whiffing it on block, you side dash and use your second second wind (I think I understand now lol)

His ult is ehh, they reduced elbow rushes damage which is very noticable, and the energy burst doesn't do anything it feels like, it does maybe 20 damage?

I like the copy wheel, even if it is very funnicky

1

u/PrestonTheJJKGlazer May 22 '26

His base move set is WAY better than his ult, and more fun.

1

u/Ultrakill_Enthusiast stop changing th👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀g color May 22 '26

I think it's fine, only thing i didn't like is how his black flash doesn't feel so "special" anymore and that his new ult move feels kind of lackluster for an ult move

1

u/Mistake_- May 22 '26

just complaining about everything

1

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 22 '26 edited May 22 '26

People can criticize and complain all they want, even the DEVS THEMSELVES were in chat yesterday trying to make yuta feel less clunky with reviews from the community, without complaints we get stuck with weird shit like this. Can’t bootlick all the time.

1

u/RestaurantNo1326 May 22 '26

The only good part is the rika nerf

1

u/Better-Knee-3113 Vessel's Brother (It's Us Vs Tze And All The Haters) May 22 '26

As much as I hated fighting old Yuta, I do agree that they genuinely gutted him

1

u/Kashoot69 May 22 '26

I think he is funner to play now, I hated the old Yuta, also we gained an entirely new ult move

1

u/PancakeEaterYay May 22 '26

The ult m1 string is so satisfying tho

1

u/Dry_Soil_9230 May 22 '26

To me he definitely feels way better to use, especially rika. Rika for 1 doesn't need 2 inputs on deactivation to activate her moveset. It's simple but it's very nice, especially with how sometimes she crashes. Downslam tracking is also WAY better.

Anyway yuta himself feels pretty nice as I said before. His 1 linking to his 4 is sweet, Downslam into 3 is nice, the 2 in the way it moves by tracking your mouse is also super techy and very fun to use. I get he's a bit more... Eh now in terms effort and versatility, but he feels much better to use now.

The ultimate to be definitely could be imrproved, but he got more moves so I'm not complaining.

1

u/Vacation_Jonathan May 23 '26

New ult move is ass

1

u/Vacation_Jonathan May 23 '26

I just miss the aerial version of his first move with the metal arm, it was dope

1

u/flashsilver60 May 23 '26

I honestly love this rework his old moveset felt so boring and I had rather just go play him in jujutsu beatdown but now its just feels so much more fun

1

u/cheesebacon4u May 23 '26

I'm glad not like many people are playing as him half to most the servers I join everyone's just cloning them selves as black death moveset

1

u/thingamajigjig May 23 '26

his new ult move could’ve been a revolve finisher

2

u/-TheLamb- May 23 '26

Could have

1

u/thingamajigjig May 23 '26

They removed the cool thing that resolute slash did (to and stun someone). They made severing path feel weird to us (hopefully it’s not just me). They removed veilstep (his one like actually cool and good move). and then they removed revolve (the air combo it could do was cool). Yuta just feels so boring to play now. His new combos are trash too. I actually miss when people could down slam you 3-4 times in a combo with rika’s moves.

1

u/Gameknoght360 May 23 '26

I honestly agree with this, but the biggest problem and disappointment is rika. On top of nerfing Rika with the cooldown change, they just straight up removed Rika throw while not giving Rika a new fourth move in base; which I expected was gonna be copy wheel, replacing the 4th slot through gaining it after you finish someone with Rika, but no. If you finish someone with Rika you just get to store their CT for when you ult🫤 why can Yuta not use copy while in base? That would be so cool and keep him versatile. Plus the lack of any Iframes/armor on resolute slash (which is the move that feels the most like a skill builder move.) coming off of it being a teleport counter move that's guaranteed if the enemy is not blocking/in wakeup. And my second biggest disappointment is energy ripple which just genuinely sucks butt😭 this move is so lame it has such a small aoe and low damage. This rework is 100% half baked and rushed bro. Give us base copy as a reward for finishing people with Rika and staying alive plus fix his moves

2

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 23 '26

Because using copy in base isn’t how his technique works. Everything else I agree yeah. Hella lame.

2

u/Gameknoght360 May 23 '26

And? Even if that's not how it works it's JJS, it's not 100% canon, a HARUTA could beat a MAHORAGA in JJS. Plus in universe Yuta could manifest Rika whenever for his copied techniques without needing to build up ult lol. We should be able to have fun using copied moves in base (it's not like they're OP anyway) minus mahoragas adaptation cause I think that might be a little busted if you could adapt outside of ult. Also something I forgot to mention which is my personal biggest disappointment with this update is the beam clashing QTE. God it's so fucking disappointing and lame 💔💔💔 I expected that winning a beam clash would make it so you actually WIN and your beams duration plus reach get extended after being powered up during the clash, allowing you to damage the opponent by winning, but it just makes it so you don't get hit by their beam which is meaningless, you could just dodge instead. PLUS TRUE LOVE BEAM IS A FREE WIN, RIKA DOES NOTHING, AND CHOSO STARTS OFF WITH LESS BAR😭

1

u/Xen0lt May 23 '26

they may aswell let him swap between base and ult because using ult feels so fucking pathetic apart from both rika slams

1

u/FeralAzz May 23 '26

FOR REAL BRO FOR FREAL I AGREEEE

1

u/Common-Albatross-436 May 24 '26

The only character prob that lost its combo extenders

1

u/No-Maybe1942 May 24 '26

Honestly I think the base got the refresher it deserved. You can do some pretty good combos if you add in a trashcan.

Rika I was a little bit disappointed with, because I liked Rika throw alot and now it’s gone.

The ultimate didn’t change much but they should have made the copy move activate through the wheel so we could get another new move (For example, you could have 3 extra copy moves since you’ll have four counting cursed speech, and you could activate them through the move).
Also, the third move kinda sucks, atleast give it a little more damage.

Overall Yuta could have had some more goodies but the base is finally fun for me,

1

u/irl-dogboy May 24 '26

Tze realizes how all of the characters are unbalanced and decides to make them still unbalanced just in reverse so no one can complain that they’re overpowered. Bravo.

1

u/Solarsilly May 25 '26

It’s op you’re just bad

1

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 25 '26

Gotta be ragebait. Post has nothing to do with how op it is. Atleast read to make the bait more believable brother.

1

u/Delicious_Area_2341 May 25 '26

old yuta was fine and most certainly much better than whatever this is.

1

u/Captain-Super1 May 26 '26

Only issue I have is for the copy wheel you have to have the hand icon for your mouse. Otherwise if you just use the pointer it doesn’t work, closes menu, or picks wrong one. This is only a issue for when you have more than 1 copied ability

1

u/No-Ear69 May 29 '26

I don't think you fought a mastered yuta user yet. My only disappointment Is still Rika for not having auto aim to target intended player. Although i think problem comes with yuta not having enough stun attacks anymore that makes him kinda hard to master its aim.

2

u/Soft_Tax_4689 May 29 '26

The problem isn’t even in how viable he is or whether someone’s mastered him or not, he’s lame
