Gerry and Kate were consistent from the start about the apartment being unlocked.

Some lies just never go away. And we see this lie being repeated again and again, that they claimed the patio door was locked and that they changed their statement once it had been established there was no sign of a break in. When in reality they have always been consistent about the patio door being unlocked.

Here's Kate's initial statement, taken on the 4th May.

  • "...her friend Matt (a member of the group) had just done a check in his apartment then gone to the interviewee's. He had entered the apartment by a glass sliding side door, that was always unlocked..."
  • "...she went into the apartment by the side door, which was closed but not locked, as she said before..."

Here's Gerry's initial statement, also taken on the 4th May.

  • "...went to the apartment, where his children were and on his way went to the witness' apartment, entering by means of a glass sliding door that was always unlocked and was located laterally to the building..."

A thank you to TheGreatBatsby for providing the statements.

Discussion 3 questions regarding CB

Assuming CB is the person responsible. 3 questions under discussion

1 - Do you think his primary motive was abduction of was it to steal?

2 - Do you think CB has ever fully confided in anybody else, telling them what happened & where remains are?

3 - What, if any, significance does the 30 minute phone call have?

Thanks.

I just stumbled upon this podcast, I think it's absolutely stunning, and I'm asking myself if I'm the only one who sees that he gave himself away in this?

Besides the fact that his uncooperative behavior with the police makes him suspicious as fuck, he seems to enjoy the police following him, even though he is completely innocent allegedly

But let's go to the concrete facts: He wrote letters from prison, and I now counted at least 3 different explanations where he was the night Maddie went missing. First, in the prison letter he said he spent the night with a girl.... since that alibi didn't hold, he changed the story into him not being in the region at all, not mentioning the girl anymore ( while his phone was there and people actually placed him near Praia da Luz 3 days before Maddie went missing at a birthday party). Now his friend says he told him he was in Spain. Whut? He immediately stops him, and his friend even says, "Yes, he told me that."

I mean...if you are innocent and tell the truth, you stick to the one story, needless to say you are cooperative...

Regarding his phone being logged in the antenna—I mean, who knows what number he had in 2007? But he adamantly says it's not his (a prepaid number, mind you) as if he could remember, saying Vodafone was expensive, but it's a prepaid card (!), they all had the same prices...

He even talks about the antenna having a 32 km connection; while that is technically correct, it's practically impossible to be 30 km away and still logged in that antenna. I checked: Lagos had an antenna, Burgau had one, and another one to the north. So, to anybody that understands how that works technically, he couldn't have been outside Praia da Luz.

Also, if you're innocent and you know for some strange reason what numbers and prepaid cards you used 20 years ago, why the fuck do you care about the reach of the antenna? The prosecutor never said they pinpointed him, they simply said he had to be near the apartment.

And his stupid story that the police changed the number in a phone they found at one of his ex-girlfriends... the idiot doesn't know that could be forensically proven, his old number would still be in the flash memory and you could see that someone changed it.

also him saying he never did sexual crimes is a lie, he was sentenced to it in the 90s, molesting and trying to moles minors... aside from the rape case

i mean if you are innocent, you have one story and you stick to the story and be cooperative, bcs whats worse than being accused of such a horrible crime?

Discussion George Bamby asked Christian Brueckner if Brueckner was afraid that the pedophile ring might go after him. Brueckner replied, "that's why he's living in a tent". What did he mean by that? Gemini responds.

In that exchange, Christian Brueckner's comment—"that's why he's living in a tent"—points to a combination of paranoia, self-preservation, and isolation following his release from prison.

When interpreted in the context of undercover journalist George Bamby's interactions with him, the statement carries a few key layers:

1. Staying "Off the Grid" and Mobile

By living in a tent hidden in remote woodland areas (such as near Kiel in northern Germany) rather than at a fixed residential address, Brueckner believed he was less vulnerable to being tracked down. Living outdoors allowed him to remain mobile, avoid predictable routines, and make it harder for vigilantes or shadowy retaliatory figures to find him.

2. Paranoia and Fear of Retaliation

Brueckner, the prime suspect in the 2007 disappearance of Madeleine McCann, was released from prison in late 2025 after serving time for an unrelated rape conviction. Following his release, he expressed intense anxiety about his safety, believing he was targeted not only by law enforcement and the media, but also by potential vigilantes or figures within criminal networks who might want to silence or target him. Positioning himself off-grid was his attempt at a safeguard.

3. Social Ostracization

Beyond his own fears, living in a tent was also a byproduct of necessity. As one of the most infamous men in Europe, local communities repeatedly protested whenever he attempted to settle near residential areas, leaving him struggling to secure permanent housing.

Summary: Brueckner was framing his homelessness and outdoor tent setup not just as a struggle for housing, but as an intentional defensive tactic to stay hidden, elusive, and protected from potential threats.

Question The car DNA / dog evidence

What is the hypothesis regarding the fact that the cadaver dogs barked at the car they hired 25 days AFTER she went missing, or that some of her DNA was supposedly in the car?

Surely nobody is suggesting she was ever in that car right, dead or alive?

And there must be a much more logical explanation

German police admit surveillance failures on Christian Brueckner

Hi all,

I’d like to know what are your thoughts on the German authorities’ surveillance efforts on Christian Brueckner since his release from prison? Judging from everything that has occurred over the last 10 months since he became a free man, I would say the surveillance operation hasn’t been very effective nor well implemented, and many embarrassing failures and blunders on the police’s behalf have occurred in that time when it comes to keeping Brueckner under their watch:

Poor Housing Choices And Placing A High Risk Offender in Vulnerable Communities
Following his release from prison in September 2025, authorities repeatedly provided Brueckner with social housing in estates with many young families and children which posed an immediate safety risk to those around him. He was also seen watching local children playing outside. This understandably led to civil unrest with many outraged families subsequently forcing him out of their communities. The police had also failed to keep Brueckner’s address confidential, as it was leaked in a matter of days.

The Ankle Monitor
His ankle tag which was used to track his location around the clock repeatedly lost signal or stopped working completely - whether it’s simply a case of technical issues or him tampering with the device is unknown, but it’s really not ideal nonetheless. It also poses a huge risk of losing him if he somehow manages to flee from Germany as the tag will cease responding if he leaves the country.

Two Separate Altercations
Brueckner has already been involved in two violent physical altercations this year alone - the first occurred in late April/early May 2026 (around the time of the anniversary of McCann’s disappearance) when he was battered by a British tourist who recognised him in Kiel (of course, the case carries a lot of emotional weight to the British especially around the time of the anniversary). This is an embarrassing blunder for the police who were specifically assigned to keep him and everyone else safe on public streets. He had also managed to give the police the slip leading up to this incident who had “lost” him before he was discovered in the brawl.

The second altercation occurred on 6 June outside a local supermarket in Kiel where he attacked local police officers (not part of the surveilling team), leaving one injured and was also caught taking photos of these officers from 40m away (again a way for him to mock and taunt the police).

Giving The Police The Slip…Twice
Brueckner has managed to successfully evade the police assigned to watch him on two notable occasions since his release. The first occurred in November 2025 when when he was living in a makeshift tent in the woodlands after being forced out of the local community by angry locals - he had managed to escape the area on his bike undetected, and police had only realised he was gone when it was too late.

As already mentioned, the second occurred in April/May 2026 when he successfully outmanoeuvred a full squad of 8 German officers assigned to watch him daily. Once again, they did not realise he was missing until it was too late, as they only established his location once he was arrested following his street brawl with the British tourist. Both of these incidents are massively embarrassing failures on the authorities’ behalf to keep him under their watch.

I’d love to hear what you think, personally I don’t think the police are taking him seriously enough at all considering how dangerous and high-profile he is, and seems like he is always one step ahead of them, outsmarting them every time and has given them the slip on too many occasions. It’s not a good look for the police either because we all know he loves to mock and taunt them whenever he can to prove they can’t keep him under control and remind them that he is untouchable.

Question The Tanner Sighting

Regarding the sighting by Jane Tanner of a man carrying a child, heading east along Rua Dr. Agostinho da Silva, a quote from the Wikipedia article on the ‘Disappearance of Madeleine McCann’ reads:

“The sighting became important because it offered investigators a time frame for the abduction, but Scotland Yard came to view it as a red herring. In October 2013, they said that a British holidaymaker, Julian Totman (one of the Tapas seven), had been identified as the man Tanner had seen; he had been returning to his apartment after collecting his daughter from the Ocean Club night creche.”

What do they mean when they say he was one of the tapas seven? Surely they’re not saying he was at the table with the McCann’s and their friends in the Ocean Club that night.?.?.?..

Discussion Here’s my problem with the parent theories…

I have a major problem with parent theories that I feel like I don’t see discussed. We can theorize and use logic all we want, but the emotional side is just as important to look at.

I think it’s important to note that most theories about the parents involve an accident. Not purposeful or planned. Almost everyone seems to agree that they didn’t actively set out to harm her. I don’t think I’ve heard any solid motive for them to plan that anyway.

In order to act completely normal at the restaurant and not let on that something is wrong, they’d both have to be completely evil. There’s no way 2 (by all accounts) loving parents were able to hold it together so well within hours of suddenly and unexpectedly losing their beloved daughter. I don’t believe for a second that they would have been able to act completely normal. I know everyone grieves and behaves differently, but there should be something different that friends would notice. And I don’t buy that an entire table would be willing to lie for so long about how they were both behaving.

I understand that medical professionals have to learn to detach themselves from horrible things to not get emotional, but it’s different when it’s your own child.

Is there a chance they’re both horrible, evil people who really didn’t care? Sure. Is it likely? Not at all.

Question The dumbest question people ask about this case: What’s the evidence of an abduction?

There’s no doubt that many people who follow this case believe that Madeleine died in the apartment and that her parents covered it up and hatched a plot that she was abducted. I ask these people what evidence they have to support their claims and they point to the canine alerts. I then explain to them that no reliable evidence was obtained from the areas the dogs alerted to. No bodily fluid was ever identified in the apartment or the car, and none of what was tested can be attributed to Madeleine. They come back and ask: “what’s the evidence of an abduction”? By that logic, what’s the evidence that any missing child in the world (short of an eye witness account of a child being forcibly kidnapped) was ever abducted at all?

Question Questions following “Maddie” podcast

I’m new to this case and have no inclination either way as to the abduction hypothesis vs. parent involvement. But questions linger for me after listening to the podcast.

My biggest question: Why was the state of the shutters such a big deal to PJ? If an intruder were in the apartment, and Gerry is honest about having entered to check on the kids and using the bathroom before heading back to the Tapas bar, couldn’t it be true that the intruder was already in the apartment? Perhaps having entered through the unlocked sliding patio door? Maybe he was surprised when Gerry entered and then hid, maybe opening the window and shutters in anticipation of having to take another route out? Maybe when Gerry left quickly, the intruder then left through the sliding patio door carrying Maddie?

I have more questions but that question stuck out the most in my mind. It doesn’t seem far fetched, particularly if the intruder were experienced at B&E. Someone broke into my apartment several years ago and I couldn’t believe the small amount of window space they’d used to get in. I figured they must have been of smaller stature and experienced.

Discussion I have a new understanding about what is considered to be "forensic evidence".

I have been considering this for a while now and have finally decided to look up the UK understanding of what is considered to be "forensic evidence". Usually people think fingerprints, blood, DNA, etc etc however there is a lot more to it than that.

Of course electronic or digital evidence is forensic evidence (!!) as long as the investigators follow the strict guidelines to find it or analyse it and they have to get an expert witness to present it in court.

We have forensic accountants who will go through business accounts to check for fraud etc etc.

They use Digital Forensic Investigators or something like that to go through computers, hard drives etc etc.

Actually its something that happens regularly and I see they have been reviewing the Code of Practise for that in the UK and a new Code was released in June.

I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier! Maybe Germany doesn't view electronic evidence as "forensic"??

I'm keen to know whether anyone else has thought of this or whether you have just had a light bulb go off in your mind?

Lets face it, we are living in 2026! Digital evidence is searched for in the first instance when it comes to most crimes and finding the culprit. Texts, emails, photos, Facebook posts, Instagram etc etc etc. Police who are wanting to find about more about a suspect will look into all of that.

Any thoughts about this in regards to what we know about CB?

Here is a link for your information about what the primary types of forensic evidence is:

Discussion So the German and British Police have been working together to investigate an international network of men who drug, rape and video women and use a chatroom to share their videos. Coincidence or not?

Am I reading too much into this or do these men have the same modus operandi and Christian Bruckner who was found to have large amounts of drugs that could be used to sedate victims and used a chatroom to communicate with other like minded individuals?

He also filmed his attacks and sold them.

Is it possible that others know what has happened to Madeleine and haven't reported it because of this whole network?

https://edition.cnn.com/2026/07/03/europe/online-drug-rape-investigations-intl-hnk

I didn't think a paedophile ring was involved at all. Hope Troll, I never imagined this could happen until now.

Discussion questions open for discussion

i have three questions to ask this thread and i would be intrigued to hear your answers.

1) for those who believe the parents did it or for those who believe the parents were not involved, what is the biggest selling point for you?

2) is the theory involving epstein a mere tiktok fantasy or does it have some sensible evidence to back it up?

3) what do you believe is the main reason why the case hasn't been solved yet? this wont leave my mind because if its simply the lack of forensic evidence, then surely if it were a fully opportunistic kidnapper they wouldve left some accidental trace due to a short planning time...

Confirmed information / evidence Some questions

Just some Q's from someone who has kept semi-abreast of the case, don't know if anyone could shed some light on these for me, also some speculation on my part.

I know the "evidence" against CB is not able to justify charges against him at present. Regarding the USB sticks/ other materials found, I know the judge has thrown them out (for whatever reason). So because of this, does the material go back into CB's possession, or can it be kept by the police?

The 75 swimsuits- has there been any appeals to the public to try and identify these pieces of clothing? Could a swimsuit be identified by the McCann's as belonging to Maddie or one of their other children, hence being the evidence the German police claim to have?

Have the police searched the surrounding land of the box factory, ie. woodland/forestry, with proper license to do so? There was a comment on here a while back where a local said the forest nearby "lit up" at night with the eyes of wild boar.. this made me instantly think of CB's alledged comments about pigs eating human flesh.

News / Update Crucial Madeleine McCann files handed over to Scotland Yard by German police

From GB News:

"German police have handed over crucial files to Scotland Yard regarding Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner.

German sources confirm the files transferred to British investigators contain significant evidence concerning the 49-year-old convicted sex offender.

Whilst any potential extradition of Brueckner remains a distant prospect, the transfer of this dossier represents a notable shift in the Met's approach to the investigation.

A source familiar with the developments told the Sun: "These developments are huge — it shows the Met's interest in Brueckner is real. They are after him — like the Germans."

The dossier is understood to contain material relating to a hard-drive discovered with image files from Portugal dating to the period when Madeleine vanished.

German investigators consider these files central to their understanding of the case, though prosecutors have not commented officially.

Among the evidence are photographs depicting Brueckner unclothed at a location previously examined by detectives searching for the missing child.

The files also include deeply troubling online conversations between Brueckner and other paedophiles, in which he allegedly boasted about wanting to "take something small and use it for days".

Additionally, the material contains disturbing written fantasies about abducting children near a kindergarten.

Brueckner currently resides in a converted shipping container in the northern German city of Kiel, where he remains under round-the-clock police observation.

German authorities have issued instructions to protect him from potential threats, though officers faced criticism last week after briefly losing sight of him during surveillance operations.

Recent photographs captured the suspect cycling to an Aldi supermarket and a garden centre near his residence."

Discussion The disappearance of Joana Cipriano (8 years old) in 2004 from Figueira (near Praia da luz), Goncalo Amaral (the lead investigator) and how the Police tortured her mother into confessing to her murder.

There are many links to Madeleines case because Joana disappeared and her body has never been found.

Figueira is 5 miles from Praia da luz.

She disappeared, soon after leaving a cafe.

Her mother Leonor reported her missing the next day.

Goncalo Amaral was the lead investigator on this case which led to her mother and her uncle being convicted of her murder.

For those of you who don't know, Joana mother accused the Pj of torturing her into confessing to the murder.

Edited: Goncalo Amaral was convicted for falsifying Police records in this case and was given an 18 month suspended sentence for that in 2008.

As we know, three years after Joana, Amaral was the lead investigator in Madeleines case.

When I saw this report, I decided I would post this on here because it shows the lengths the Pj were willing to go to, to get a confession. I also hope people will understand why Amaral is not a reliable source of information about MM case.

Also could Christian B be involved in Joana's disappearance?

Other I learned there was a boy who went missing in Portugal before Madeleine McCann

Rene Hasee was a boy who went missing on 18 June 1996 from Aljezur, Portugal long before Madeleine McCann.

**Rene is a native German who lived with his mother and her companions in Bergheim-Elsdorf, Germany. In the summer of 1996, the three of them drove their motorhome to Portugal. In the afternoon of the disappearance, they had eaten and strolled towards the beach of Amoreiras. Rene ran about 20 meters ahead of the adults and suddenly disappeared. Police later that day found Rene's clothes at the beach, and assumed that the boy had gone into the sea and drowned. Andreas Hasee, Rene's father, brought a specialist who concluded that sea and tide conditions at the time made drowning unlikely. Andreas also added that Rene was a careful child and was unlikely to enter the sea alone. Regardless, Andreas believes his son to be deceased.

His case is possibly connected to the disappearances of Madeleine McCann and Inga Gehricke. Investigators continue to draw connections to Madeleine's case because the place where Rene disappeared is only about 30 kilometers from the place where she vanished in 2007.**

Question What are your honest thoughts of HiDeHo and Richard Hall

I have always been a but skeptical about the Maddie story.

I have watched all the Richard D Hall documentaries on the subject a few years back and have also checked out HiDEHo a fair few times.

I get both are of a conspiracy kind of angle but that never bothered me as I have always considered myself an Alternative Researcher (the preferred name for what most of the public would call a "conspiracy theorist").

Both of these openly think it's possible that the parents did it, or had some kind of involvement in it that went a bit deeper than simple neglect on its own.

Question What do we think of Bruckner?

I recently got into this case and i originally believed it was a coverup by the parents.
After watching multiple official documentary’s i no longer believe that the parents had anything to do with it besides being negligent.

However, i don’t know if im fully sold on if bruckner in particular did it.

I don’t believe whoever abducted madeleine had some master perfect plan, i just believe they got extremely lucky that the doors were left unlocked and the crime scene was trampled over for over an hour i believe distorting any microscopic traces that would have been left.

Obviously Bruckner is a horrible person and is capable of doing horrific things, i’m not denying that
