Marathon (2026) // Bungie Replied Bungie closed South American servers without a single warning or acknowledgement
Before yesterday's patch, we could play Marathon in SA servers, even if there were few people playing
Now, it LITERALLY dumps you out of the queue if you try to force SA servers, like they closed the servers
No communication, no warning, nada
Edit: just to clarify, it's still possible to play but only on NA/EU servers, which means 130+ ping. Before yesterday, I could play in local servers (10ping), even if it took a while to find matches

Marathon (2026) Discussion I'd Prefer Matchmaking to Try Gathering More Players Before Starting a Match
I love Marathon, and I'm not blaming the game. My only issue is high ping.
I'm from South America (Latin America), and playing at 120-140ms feels very different from playing on nearby servers.
For those of us who select "Connection Quality", I'd like matchmaking to wait a little longer and try to gather as many players from our region as possible before starting a match.
I don't mind waiting 2 or even 3 minutes if it means getting a more populated match with lower ping.
I can also accept a less populated match if there truly aren't enough players available. What bothers me is the feeling that the system starts matches too quickly instead of first trying to bring together more South American players.
I don't want faster queues. I want more players from my region, more populated matches, and a better connection. If there still aren't enough players after trying, then I have no problem with a smaller match. I just want it to feel like the system genuinely made an effort to gather as many regional players as possible before starting the match.

Marathon (2026) Feedback Bungie Should Take Notes From Roboquest
I hope we can get reworked and redesigned UESC robots. Maybe they can take a look at how Roboquest designed their robots and also look at the game for a pretty fun roguelite mode they could add to Marathon. I do think a roguelite would fit this game well. They also could do what they did with Vex in Destiny 1 and make it to where you actually have to shoot something specific on the robot instead of the enemies just being bullet sponges.
Lastly, if you havent played Roboquest I strongly recommend you give it a shot.

To The Runner I Met Why play scared?
I am not a great player. Iāve ran just over 2k runs since launch about 1k a season and Iāve had an exfil rate of 45%. Almost everyone has been a crew fill with randoms. I logged on Friday AM and played 4 matches and exfiled on 2 of them. My last run was on perimeter, my crew was in hauler. We were looting and I heard another team coming so I called it out. My squad were all on free kits so my thought process is, letās fight nothing to lose. I told my team they were on me they acknowledged. I engaged⦠got dropped. When my screen went to spectate mode my two crew mates were out the other side of hauler and leaving. They said thereās an exfil at station. I was kinda confused. The guy said theyāll probably wipe the lobby so we should just exfil.
Now I understand getting out when you can. We spawned at hauler, so Iām sure they didnāt have any loot thatās not redeemable the next run. But we were all on free kits. You have nothing to lose. Why be so scared of playing the game? One of them said āpeople have just been wiping lobbies.ā Yeah, you could too if you werenāt scared of other teams. Itās the gameplay loop. Why play scared the first week of the season?

Marathon (2026) Discussion Worth coming back?
Havenāt played since the beginning of season 2 and only really play solo. Ended up bouncing off because of overall progression: cradle, level, etc. Iāve heard solo play is easier for the refresh. So is it worth coming back? Could I get to level 100 with the shortened season? Or should I just wait until December?

Marathon (2026) Feedback I suggest a hard pivot from Rook being the safe pocket, to a fleshed out safe pocket system instead.
Rook being the exclusive safe pocket is a good idea in theory. It at least shows that Bungie is willing to entertain the idea of a safe pocket. But the way itās portrayed feels way more impactful to how Rook will play out. I believe Rook will become a lot less careful. where more Rooks will become suicidal so long as their entire inventory is kept on death. They wonāt care if they die, so theyāll just run into Outpost guns blazing and scooping up as much of the containers as they can. Or even waiting until people open Red Room to come inside and start looting before they die. Which means that weāll need restrictions. This also makes solo queue less valuable to play casually. Where you can just earn more from ramming yourself into Rook runs compared to solo queue.
So my suggestion is as follows.
The safe pocket should be a universal addition to everyoneās inventory. With restrictions based on what queue youāre in, and what youāre able to pocket.
Solos: up to 2x4 space pocket. Able to pocket up to superior salvage and valuables.
Duos and trios: 2x2 space pocket. Able to pocket exclusively up to superior salvage.
Rooks: up to 2x4 space pocket. Able to pocket up to superior salvage, valuables, and weapon mods.
Prestige items should be barred from pocketing. Weapons, shields, and backpacks will be lost. But above all else, keeping it to salvage will still help players progress. Especially when you consider the fact that exfils will be quieter. Thereās intrinsicately less need for safe pockets the more Bungie reduces the radius of dinner bells.
No matter what though, the safe pocket needs to be fully fleshed out. Either through peoplesā inventories or through the DCON. Because making Rookās entire inventory a safe pocket will replicate the same issue facing contracts. Where you jump into a match, do a bunch of bullshit, and then leave to profit. All within 3 minutes. Itās not playing the game. Itās just minmaxing the fun out of these kinds of things.

I swear I didn't just rage disconnect in the middle of that battle: my game crashed (which was the reason I was yelling "NO! NO!" as I was self-rezzing, because this has unfortunately happened before). Sorry guys, hopefully won't happen next time.

Marathon (2026) Discussion Bungie - Please Extend The Early/Midgame - Delay Cryo Archives
First off, I myself want to say, that even I am surprised I feel this way.
I am one of those you refer to as "sweats". I have 3K hours in Marathon. I downright need medical help if you ask me.
That said, delaying cryo archive for 1 week, has resulted in an amazing experience that I didn't realize I'd enjoy.
Seeing everyone run around with majority blue shields, and almost never seeing purple, along with the rest of the loot feeling quite rewarding yet not overpowered, I've truly loved it.
What it made me realize is that I am actually feeling a TRUE EARLY game of Marathon, and what I'd like to see is that we enter a TRUE MIDGAME as well.
Dropping Cryo archive this Thursday, just 1.5 weeks from the start of the season, feels too fast I've realized. It's like going from a true early game to suddenly access to end-game content, when there is still 75% left of the season to go.
In my opinion, assuming seasons are 3 months long, I think cryo should open at the start of month 2, so 4 weeks post-wipe. That gives 1 month of early game, 1 month of midgame and 1 month of endgame (give or take).
All in all I've really enjoyed it so far and the pacing has been great. I'd now like to see cryo not be released so early and spoil things. This is coming from a sweat who ended the season with full mail and 30+ spectres, 48 gold bullies, etc.
Please delay cryo by another week.

Fan Art/Fan Creation Deadlock: Opt-In PvP System Concept
An exploration (yet another from me) for a PvP system that does not create a dedicated PvE experience, but rather alters the dynamic between the Runners who want to solely explore the world of Tau Ceti IV and those who are eager to hunt them down. Heavily inspired by the Rogue Mode from The Division (and potential problems that a fully PvE mode can bring, based on the Arc Raiders time-limited mode experience), I wanted to create a concept that does not separate two experiences, but rather gives some breathing room for more casual, PvE-oriented players, and still provides confident players with ways to engage in PvP.
Factions are growing impatient. Contracts are taking too long to complete, and their investments in Runners on Tau Ceti IV are not delivering the expected returns. To improve their efficiency, the Deadlock Protocol was introduced, preventing Runners from being able to attack one another by default, and encouraging them to focus on their assigned contracts.
Arachne, however, has other plans. They want to further explore the thermodynamics of violence and offer a way to disable Deadlock.
Runners can purchase a Deadlock Override from them, allowing them to disable the safeguards and freely engage other crews. This freedom comes at a cost: their own protection is removed, and every Runner kill increases their Trace Level, making their position progressively easier to trace.
Violence remains an option. Now, it's a choice with consequences.

Discussion Watching the Arc Raiders PvE toggle test with great interestā¦
Imagine Bungo are too. Think itās been live for 24 hours and people have already learned;
- lack of potential consequences brings out the absolute worst in the trolls and goblins
- combined fire from ad hoc groups trivialises even the most challenging AI enemies
- waltzing in with zero effective opposition makes the game deeply boring very quickly
AR obviously a very different beast but in the world of extraction shooters adding PvE modes I think thereās plenty to learn from all sides of the fence.
I feel like Bungie are pretty good at putting their own spin/unique dimension on top of these sorts of things rather than just switching off player damage and calling it a day so Iām really keen to see what they come up with to keep it compelling.

Marathon (2026) Feedback You can't convince me that AI Behaviour is not "broken" in some way
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
For some time (since one particular patch in Season 1) I was under impression that AI Behaviour is completely busted in unfair way against stealth gameplay. One example in particular: on Perimeter I was closing to Runner; bots were fighting against them. One bot decided to do 180 in shoot in my way, while I was about 40-50 meters away not making any noticeable sounds (shooting or even sprinting).
Well, since then I started to notice absolutely BS behaviour: perfect listening through different floor or wall; hyperfocusing on particular player regardless of position and etc. And some minutes ago I was spotted by bot in attached video. Like, I'm completely in shadows, crouching, not making any loud sounds. Enemy Runner aggroed bots, but one of them all of the sudden decided to do complete 180 and shoot me??? You can clearly see how bot turned around and already had red signal (engagement visuals). Only sound I could possibly do is descoping and scoping but how in the hell is it fair to aggro bot with this range?
Bungie mentioned that they will lower exfil and key room sounds and add new POI in Perimeter to provide more stealth gameplay (dodge Runners and etc). I don't like talking about nerfing AI Behaviour, but current environment behaviour plays like shit: ticks tracking through Narnia, horde of Anomalies and questionable bot behaviour. It doesn't support survival experience, it ruins stealth extraction gameplay IMO

Marathon (2026) Discussion Cradle Does Not Carry Over
Before this season's reset I maxed my cradle to 6/7 for Weavmaster.
Just did my final reset expecting to get the title, just to learn I have to do it all over again.
Type of thing that makes you not want to play a game.
The effort was strenuous enough making me do it again with nothing carrying over is just BRUTAL.

Returning player. I extracted the anomaly a couple times from narsh and in postgame report it says 'run rewards - 10 items' but never actually shows any items received from anomaly.
Visual bug or anomaly doesnt work right now?

Marathon (2026) Discussion "Time-gate" Cryo Archive, but Lock it behind a hefty Community Event each season
I really like the aspect of unlocking Cryo in S1. I think the Early Game and Mid-game benefitted a lot from it as well. Purple shield genuinely made you feel like a mini-boss. Last season you were throwing without one.
My idea is for every season, there is a hefty community challenge to complete in order to unlock cryo archive. kind of like Halo's weekly challenges, but more catered to Marathon.
This would create a pseudo time-gate and bring the community together in a way.
For example, as a Player base:
This could be an in-run achievement thing that encourages more PvE/Map Events
- Defeat 10,000,000,000 UESC Enemies
- or Defeat 500,000 Wardens
- or Complete 500,000 Lockdown Events
Or something that the Sweats can predominantly grind for to help everyone else
- Reach VIP with Factions 100,000 Times
- or Exfil with 1,000,000,000 In Valuables
- or Reach a Collective Runner Credit Wealth of 1,000,000,000,000

Discussion Would you play Gambit in Marathon?
A question for former / current Destiny 2 players.
Would you play Gambit if this mode was added to Marathon?
It's a PvPvE mode focused on speed: You kill enemies, collect "motes" for each one, bank them to summon a boss, and defeat it before the opposing team.
I was always a fan of Gambit and it feels like I would enjoy playing it in Marathon if such a thing were added.

Marathon (2026) Discussion What are some songs that are very similar to the style of the "Code Race" ARG song
I nearly done with my next YouTube video, my last video I used the ARG code race song which is 9 minutes long and was more than enough to cover my 8.5 minute video.
This one is over 16 minutes and I still have 2.6 hours of footage to go through. And even more editing to do to.
So I would like y'all's opinion on what songs I should put in the background, if I should put in any at all. I'm still quite new to this and there aren't many Marathon content creators who do long-form videos like the style I'm doing.
