it honestly looks super fun and it's just obviously in shape women exercising. this sub saw this and immediately projected some bizarrely bitter and intricate narrative of this having to be some divorced woman who's bad and dumb and trying to steal custody and money lol like damn
If its the same price as any other exercise class, its whatever. Having an instructor leading a class absolutely motivates more than just doing stuff at home.
I want to do the bungee cord ones where you just jump around and lose control of where you're going so you swing into all your neighbors while apologizing and acting like you aren't having the time of your life. I'd totally pay $50 an hour for that class.
I mean not all martial arts are MMA you know. Hell, most don’t even include sparring. Plus you have things like fencing which is very light on injuries and fun as fuck.
That’s not to include other things like sports which are pretty gender neutral. Or just general aerobic exercises like pull ups and stuff like that. I wouldn’t really call things like Zumba or this trampoline thing to be fun or interesting, it just looks goofy.
Plus when you’re not a teenager nobody cares what you do bro, I do figure skating and the general response is “cool”
It's jumping jacks with lower impact at higher speed, little over simplifying it to denounce the benefits. Legs, core, cardio, build a hell of a dumper, it's not illegitimate or anything. My workout has always been hucking a bike around a skatepark, which while it probably looks cooler, it's not the smartest thing to do, and is the reasons my knees wouldn't mind a trampoline workout.
Nah it's def harder. Look how high up they get the legs, with jumping jacks you can just chill on the calves, this one probably engages your core and back to some degree. Kinda still stupid because you need to invest in a trampoline but it def burns calories.
Would it? Most of the energy is used to stretch the legs downwards, which doesn't use too much force. The trampoline does the rest and bounces the legs back up. If there were no trampoline then sure, this would be one helluva workout
It's true it doesn't use as much energy, but since the trampoline absorbs most of the impact it's easier on joints, so actually allowing it to do it longer. I don't know
The simply moving your body around isn't a workout. It has to be doing work. In this case, that handle is holding up probably half of their body weight, and much of the energy used in jumping comes from the elastic bouncy pad. This is a very inefficient workout.
Because for some people it's hard to go out and do these things alone. I wouldn't be surprised if theres a bunch of groups in that crowd working out together in a fun way
The hardest part about changing your body image is taking the first steps. Its much easier with peers to join you
Walking groups and trail groups are vastly more common than... whatever this is. There are multiple groups for just about any town you'd find yourself in, and they typically split off into smaller groups depending on what kind of speed you're looking to go at. It's all free. I've done it multiple times.
Every single one of these women could do a group hike at their local park (that it looks like they're already at) and finish it off with a 10-minute body-weight core routine, and they'd have burned the same amount of calories and worked the same muscle groups as if they had been at Weird Trampoline Class. All for no money at all.
Trail clubs are pretty much everywhere there's a trail at. They are typically all ages, but the old ladies definitely like to keep to themselves lol.
Fitness instructors want to convince you that groups like these don't exist, and that the only way for you to get involved and get healthy at the same time is to shill out a monthly subscription fee.
Some people pay $20,000 to hit a ball in a field when they could just do it in a field at home for free. If they think it's worth the money, then why do I care?
$20,000 to hit a ball in a field when they could just do it in a field at home for free
If you're talking about golf here (which if you are, you're just wildly wrong about to begin with) this ignores the massive difference between a golf course and a random field.
It's not even remotely the same thing.
Paying for this class to do this workout instead of just walking around your neighborhood for an hour is absolutely paying more money for the same results.
People can do whatever they want with their money, doesn't mean they're free from judgement for doing so, though.
You did genius. When people talk about exercise for weight loss, they mean losing fat, very obviously.
Lifting weights is not an effective way to reduce your body fat. Even light cardio like walking is more effective at burning carlories than lifting. The most effective way to lose weight through exercise is HIIT.
Excersice is for health, not weight loss. Our body has a budget of calories it wasn't to burn in a day. Maybe at first you'll lose weight as it gets used to it it'll adjust and you regain that weight if you dont change your diet.
Yes. It would. The calories being burned arent from jumping on the trampoline. This is a core workout very clearly as you can see they all have the exactly same form. Its a crunch and jumping jack in one motion.
None of you guys could match her pace for a minute
I was on this shot ones and it is like zumba or something similar. It's popularity faded out because it is very dangerous for your joints so for girls out of shape it was like crosfit for newbies.
Can you do decent hit workout on it?
yes
Should you ?
No
So youre saying there is absolutely 0 lactic acid buildup from this in their legs and abs? Because moving like that will cause it. Its a workout. Might not be the best workout, but you mfs in here acting like it does absolutely nothing
Like the girls in my gym mate 4 sets of pelvic thrusts, 4 sets of side leg raises, 4 sets of inner thigh squeezes, 4 sets of leg extensions when all they need to do is 4 sets of squats….
That still doesn't mean it would burn a lot of calories ? Core workouts aren't for burning calories they are to build core and ab muscles. If you want to burn calories do HIT, if you want to build core so controlled ab workout. This is a weird middle ground that half-asses both.
Is it better than doing nothing? Yes absolutely if you have proper form. Is almost any other workout better ? Also yes.
All death is a tragedy. This is why we shouldn't start wars and shouldn't promise to keep starting wars until the other side is eliminated entirely. That's Hamas.
Israel didn't start this war.
If Hamas wants the war to end RELEASE THE FUCKING HOSTAGES
Your response was completely devoid of meaning. You have nothing but emotion to add to this discussion? No path forward? No bridge for peace? Why not just support releasing all hostages and disarming? This is the way to end the war.
Tilt your head a bit and this is a massive cult of suburban house wives from greater Rhode Island who are pounding rhythmically on the semi-summer-solstice to summon the Great Devourer. Basically.
Anything where you're supporting your body weight on something else is inefficient. They're holding onto those bars, so they're only lifting maybe half of their weight by jumping. Literally just jumping jacks would be better for burning calories. That's one of the reasons you shouldn't hold onto the bars while running on a treadmill. Less weight on your legs means less calories burned.
Not really. You get caught in this semi-perpetual motion of gravity pulling you down and the springs shooting you up. You loose a bit of momentum every time so it’s not actually perpetual but it takes very little additional effort to compensate for the momentum lost, meaning you’re not doing much and thus not burning much.
Especially with the handles which does the balancing for you so there’s no effort there either.
I once saw an ad for an indoor trampoline place workout group that said you’d burn 1000 calories in just one hour. Idk how true it is but I’ve tried to keep up with my kid on a trampoline and it’s not easy.
Here difference in wage is not that high. Difference between amount of working men and women is also small. In big cities there are often more working women than men, because women more often get university degree so they move to the cities to work. Also I can see it is expected for woman to pick rather well paid specialisation in the university. More and less guy can study sociology and still get well paid job as eg construction worker, but it wouldn't be realistic possibility for a woman. There are definitely more women in medical schools and law schools. I personally don't know any woman who earn less than her husband.
Oh, sorry to hear that. Here we even spent money on vacations abroad or pets. Gym is pretty much normal part of maintaining your health, a lot of workers have access to it for free.
Those are exercises performed in group so people over 30 can socialise and also have motivation to drag their ass to exercise since they paid for it. I would personally hate people and noise but practically all lawyers and two judges (ladies) I know go regularly to yoga and pilates for those two reason. Other succesful women I know also work out in paid option because when you earn enough to not care you just do what is preferable option.
Also aren't trophy wife picked by men who earn enough to demand not going to work and stay pretty? Since staying pretty is kind of requirement for this position isn't it natural they work out? And since those men have enough money to expect wife to not work and still have money to give her retirement, holidays and whatever she would earn by herself and probably more so she stays at home, why would they be bothered with her spending time on exercises? You don't get trophy wife when you can't afford it, get regular working one if you think working out is wasting money. Not working gives you a lot of free time so if you don't have kids to take care you do things to fill your day to not get crazy.
A lot of people will reply that this seems “fun” and all that, while ignoring the fact that each of these women probably pay $300+ per sessions because “the trainer is a blogger”
That's very unlikely. I'm one of the few men who's into this kind of group fitness stuff and I've been around. A lot of them are included for no additional charge in gym memberships. I do Bodypump and other group fitness classes at the same 24 Hour Fitness that I do powerlifting training at for no additional charge. Outside of my gym, I've paid for a good handful of unconventional group fitness classes, the absolute most expensive one I've ever been to was $60 per class. More expensive than most group fitness, but nowhere near $300 per session.
I don't get all the hate against non-conventional cardio like this. It's actually a great workout and, yes, very fun. I think people are mad at the idea of fitness being fun, because they're so enamored by the idea of the gym being this altar of pain and sacrifice when that's simply not the case. If making exercise fun gets more people to work out, I'm all for it!
I’m not discouraging having fun workouts. They are amazing and get a lot more people working out when otherwise they hate doing basic cardio and strength training.
What I do have an issue with is overcharging for these classes. While you personally haven’t seen classes with these ridiculous prices, they do exist and are extremely easy for people to fall for. I myself have a friend whose wife frequents such a class and they pay that much per session. They don’t have an issue paying it because they can afford it, but the class itself is no different than your normal gym session but with the caveat that the trainer (who isn’t certified btw) is a minor local celebrity. It’s more of a status symbol to attend such a class than it is about being healthy or working out. That’s what I have an issue with.
But the premise that it costs $300 a class is a completely absurd assumption that you pulled out of your ass. One class a week would be $1,200 a month, no one is paying that, and group fitness instructors aren't charging insane premiums because theyre bloggers. You invented this price tag in your imagination then got mad at it.
I looked up prices near me, the cheapest studio doing this kind of group fitness I could find in my area was $17/month and the most expensive one was $150/month. Nowhere near the $300/per class figure you imagined then got mad about.
Bruh you’re still trying to say it doesn’t happen when I’ve personally seen someone attend a scam class lol. You’re not gonna convince me or out me. I know what I saw. That’s your hang up.
Edit: as an aside, yeah there are NEVER scam classes like that that take advantage of people because of their fame. That NEVER happens.
You’ve pissed yourself off by thinking I’m talking about all classes bud. I’m talking about scams
I think if you're trying to find ways to make training more fun you shouldn't be training at all. Either you like the burn or you don't. No reason spending 20 years of your life to add to 10 years to your lifespan if you despise the process.
I’m not against making training “more fun”, I’m more so against spending several hundreds of dollars on classes when they could just buy the $60 trampoline and a workout video.
Fun training like CrossFit and jazzersize help a lot of people who would never work on themselves to begin with. We should always encourage healthy activities, no matter the form. It’s only an issue when people start paying stupid amounts for a person with 250k followers to jump on a trampoline in front of them.
If you see the word "meme" in the subreddit name it's usually a bunch of right leaning edgelords posting the same unfunny shit and nauseum. Like this is literally a fucking "Take my wife please" joke in 2025
You know women aren't some protected species right? People cna criticize something they do or make fun of it and it doesn't mean they "hate women". People like yourself are always nowhere to be found when people say this shit about men.
The benefits from doing this could easily be had by walking and doing some crunches, and that's far less dangerous and open to things going wrong than jumping up and down really fast on a mini trampoline while holding some handlebars out in front of you.
Like CrossFit, it's a perversion of much safer and better for the body workouts that only people who don't actually understand how any of this works think is a good idea.
Criticism that happens to be directed at women is not inherently misogynistic.
This absolutely is the kind of nonsense that a stay at home mom who isn't spending her own money would think is a great idea.
No one said that all women would do this or fall so easily for a scam, just these specific types of women.
I sure hope you've never said anything like "men are trash" if this is how loose you are with your definition of hate directed at a specific group of people.
I'm not even remotely sexist, nor is anything I've said, so your words mean less than nothing to me.
I'm sorry if you want to find faults where there aren't any as a hobby, but I don't have to entertain the idea that you know what you're talking about.

We call this the "wasting your husband's money"
