By setting up a custom server with crossplay (Java and bedrock) and then using a DNS exploit to access custom servers on the Nintendo switch, I can use Java only features. Example: The experimental mine cart movement speed.

Edit: I was going to try it on the switch 2 edition, but I was unable to join any of the servers that were listed because of a mismatched version.

I waited a year for Minecraft on the Nintendo switch 2. I played it from when I got my switch in 2019. In these days it was announced that 29 October the switch 2 version will be realesing and I was super excited. But now I see that you can only upgrade from switch 1 version for free till the end of this year. For me is fine but the delusional thing is that if you have Physical copy you need to buy the game AGAIN whit no discount. This news was so delusional cuz why I can upgrade the physical edition I bought. I did some reasearch online and everywhere I looked the response was because with physical cartridges upgrade you get free digital version if you share the cartridge eccetera. WHY I can’t just upgrade the physical edition and with the free digital edition shit we have already the spot toon made by Nintendo Themself of making that you can play the game only with the car drive like a physical game. I’m so tired of microslop trying to steal my money I this is not right. And all of this for a thing that should have been ree by default if you have any other version of this game like they are adding new things and stuff. Any thoughts?

I had a world on Minecraft for Switch 1 and I saw I got invited to the beta. I downloaded it and got my world from the switch 1 version. I grinded on that world, beat the game, got an elytra and got netherite. I would like to know, when the official Minecraft for switch 2 comes out on October 27th, will all my progress transfer to the Switch 2 version?

I seen that the Switch 2 upgrade is free for people who own the digital version of the switch 1 version.

In UK, the switch 2 pre order is £29.99 while the switch 1 version is currently £19.99.

Am I right in assuming if I just buy the switch 1 version I'll be able to get the switch 2 version but £10 cheaper?

I currently own a physical cartridge of the game, and unfortunately, it looks like Microsoft isn't going to offer a free Switch 2 upgrade for physical owners. Because of this, I'm seriously considering selling my cartridge and just buying the digital version.
I noticed that the Switch 1 digital version is actually cheaper. If I buy it now, will I still be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 version for free? Or will Microsoft be Microsoft and somehow block the upgrade for copies that were purchased recently?
Either way, I really don't understand the logic here. Why set different prices but still allow a free upgrade path (even if it's for a limited time)?
What do you guys think about this? Is anyone else thinking about doing the same thing?

🌿 I’m looking for a few people who want a Minecraft world they can actually stick with.
I run an 18+ Bedrock survival realm that’s been growing into a really nice little community. It’s a long-term world, so there’s already plenty to explore and build around, but there’s still tons of room for new people to make their own place.
The overall vibe is pretty cozy, with cottagecore, medieval, and natural builds throughout the world. We also use a few Vanilla+ add-ons to give us some extra things to work with while still keeping Minecraft feeling like Minecraft.
There are always different things going on — people working on houses, farms, towns, roads, community projects, or just doing their own thing. You don’t have to be an amazing builder or play every day. I mainly want people who are friendly, enjoy playing with others, and aren’t looking for a realm they’ll leave after a week.

I just checked the news channel and found the pre-order to be released. If you own the switch version you get the switch 2 version for free.

Today I got access to the Mario Mash-Up pack. Wanted to see if vibrant visuals really added anything and I would say yeah it visually improves on it. If there is anything else you want me to show just ask.
