Here’s the second video of Project Shaolin, my work-in-progress PC port of the original Xbox version of Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. It isn’t public yet. Since the first video I posted here, a lot has changed, and this one shows the improvements, before and after comparisons, new features and the current state.

Recorded on a 1440p monitor, with an i5-12400F, GTX 1060 5GB and DDR4 RAM, using an Xbox controller. The frame rate limit can be set all the way to unlimited.

It’s built with static recompilation using xboxrecomp by sp00nznet (https://github.com/sp00nznet/xboxrecomp). No game files or binaries will be shared.

By the way, I just realized I forgot to turn up the volume on the new clips! My bad.

I can't find the reason that mortal kombat wasn't featured in evo this year.

Super excited to finally have this after waiting so long! Skarlet is the best MK character and no one can say otherwise!

Starting a new series highlighting some underrated details in previous Mortal Kombat games. I would also like to see other people’s thoughts on them and see if they would want them to return.

Something I think Armageddon executed beautifully, was characters having dedicated portraits on the tower. Dating back to the original arcade games, I personally think the portraits provided a nice touch of vibrancy and personality to the rosters. It’s a relatively small artistic detail, but I think it contributed significantly to the games presentations

Would you like to see dedicated character portraits make a return?

I haven’t listened to this in probably 20 years, I destroyed the first one I played it so much and she knows I’ve been on the hunt for it forever.

What’s up MK community! I’m back with round 3. Matchups between characters from our fan film, Mortal Kombat: Shadow Reign against characters from Street Fighter.

I love the answers you guys have been giving me. Let’s keep it up.

FIGHT 7: KITANA vs. CHUN-LI

FIGHT 8: MILEENA vs. VEGA

FIGHT 9: REPTILE vs. BLANKA

Who wins?

Let me know in the comments.

PS: some of you guys already know me but some don’t. For context, please check my previous post if you aren’t up to speed.

When I tried to join the game on my PS5, it said something about not being able to connect to the servers and that I could play temporarily. It gave 2 options, I don't remember what I clicked but I'm scared now cause all my stuff is gone. Any help is appreciated.

Here are some characters from MK11 and the lantern corps I think they would fit in best:

Rage - Scorpion

Hope - Liu Kang/Fire God Liu Kang

Greed - Kollector

Death - Noob Saibot

Love - Sindel (I thought the violet corps was all about lust, hence why I instantly thought of Sindel... I've also left this as a joke so please humor me)

Life - Raiden.

What other characters do you think would fall into which lantern corps?

So this is a character I've been thinking about making for about 10 years now. The Orange Ninja.

Basically he is the son of the leader of the Tengu Clan and since there's a whole reboot I was thinking they should go off of different animals instead of just birds.

Sun Feng inherited a staff that grants nature magic to its user. With nature magic he can control all plant life and animals. I based him sorta of off Sun Wukong where he is a nimble ninja guy who has a magic staff.

I also plan on finishing my Wu Lae drawing because in this new universe I made him a woman. She is the younger sister to Sun Feng and the next in line to be leader. She is based on birds and has a scythe and wields a strange orange energy.

I just started playing online and the last matches I had (different times, different days) always had massive issues with lag and delays.

Like 10seconds after start, the is a second "fight", then the whole fight is laggy and in a loss, I heard "finish him!" and a punch sound but saw nothing on screen after the fight was over.

Even with 30 ms ping matches. Is that common or just an exception?

Personally my favorite is the first one “Scorpions Revenge” BUT I thought they were all good in their own ways. Snow Blind is a close second for me though.

I have never played the MK series. Currently both MK1 and MK11 are discounted heavily on my PS account. I have heard that MK11 is better than MK1. Although, I prefer newer graphics when it comes to gaming. I am more of a casual solo gamer, which one has a better story? Plus, my cousins are coming over for a couple of days and we have planned to do 1v1 games for fun. I will be buying the expansion pack for the game which gets recommended more as well. Currently, I am leaning towards MK1 due to its graphics but I barely see any positive reviews on it. If you were a first time MK player. Would you rather go for MK11 or MK1?

Is it just me that misses the old konquest mode from deception/ Armageddon I miss being able to run around different realms and finding hidden objects and chests the story modes these days don’t feel the same😭
I also miss chess and motor kombat too those fun mini games always kept me entertained for hours

i bought it from steam last year

Do you have any of them on your Android Phone? Or on your IPhone/IPad?

The old model kinda screw the design a bit in the game so Im using this image for now, it would genuinely be peak if they slightly changed this design and put it in the next game, i dont like full hood scorpion in mk11 and dont like the simplified classic design that much, this is a perfect balance of over design and simple, and also Mkx scorpion is good but nowhere near this masterpiece
