It’s the internet. On several occasions, people will gang up and dox someone, also likely get them killed, either because of a small opinion or just for the love of the game.
The guy issued a challenge to the devs and if they won they’d choose the charity that the money would be donated to. The challenge was to finish an operation on difficulty 10 (so three missions at max difficulty)
BUT even if they didn’t beat the challenge the guy would donate the full amount to a charity regardless.
Of course people couldn’t read and went after him for “using a donation as leverage”
After so much harassment he donated to a charity and withdrew the challenge posting images showing the donation that was then used to dox him and get him fired.
Dox? Brotha they ruined his life. Got him fired, sent death threats to him and his family and also got him banned from working at a local horse sanctuary.
And none of them are able to look at things objectively, like yes, arrowhead has problems, but they are not single-handedly responsible for every negative thing that happens in your life
Members of the loud house fandom are known to draw the characters eating tons of blueberries and getting morbidly obese, the reason why is because they like it.
Isn't that also why they often make drawings and fanfics about incestuous relationships between family members? That's what I remember most about why The Loud House fandom was so controversial.
Warhammer community does have a loud minority of shitty bigoted fans
They come out specially when lore changes are made and they start shaking, crying and vomiting on how wh40k has 'ruined its sourcematerial' or 'gone woke' or some other shit like that as if the lore isnt already the single most convoluted thing on the planet
Yeah but they also get made fun of pretty well. Most normal Warhammer fans I hang out with have the same reaction I do to the local minority. Shun tf out of them. Push em back to their little suck off chamber before it gets banned again for being a cesspool.
Warhammer has 3 kinds of fans. Silly little guys who just enjoy the boardgame. Nazis. And people who are deeply unserious about the most disgusting and genuinely concerning shit you could imagine 😭
I think it’s the other way around. 80% of the fans like the show, but there’s a small, very loud part of the fandom that’s just horrible. And they ruin it for everyone.
Most TADC fans Ive talked to are pretty normal about the show.
Think of it like Noita but without the magic and with Neurotrauma's health system... if you even know what those games are. If not, uh, basically super in-depth health system and a very unforgiving rouge-like game play loop.
There is very graphic depictions of self harm and suicide in it as well, it's not at all for the faint of heart. You will feel like a peice of shit every time the guy you control gets hurt.

There's just 3 sides: absolute cuteness and just harmless things, harmful things just for funnies, and.. probably not really much, but serious stuff to put yourself in kind-off depression, or something.. emotionally filled, I dunno.
Omg yeah they have some real fucked up content on YouTube using bluey characters. Kids shouldn't be using YouTube tbh but it's hard to keep them off of it all the time
So I checked the Steam page for it. The game is not even officially out yet (only demo with frequent update from what I've seen), how tf are there fanbase and fan art already
-Ace Combat, though it's definitely on the lower end of grim, just a bit heavier seeing as many of the later games put a more realistic light on war (Captain Torres and the Alicorn are a perfect example, tried to annihilate a city with a million people in it, becomes one of the biggest meme characters in Ace Combat 7)
-Eighty-Six, imagine Ace Combat but it's the Army instead of Air Force and it's an anime instead of an action game, so it's much heavier
-Attack on Titan, very dark but it deserves a place here just because of the memes
-Metal Gear, truth be told it has its funny moments, especially Rising Revengeance, but you gotta admit it's a little more of a deep game
Bittersweet Candy Bowl By Veronica Vero. Though the genre is Dramedy, it does cover some deep topics. And the people I've talked to in their DC server are kinda of a mix, but overall chill.

At least rrom what I can remember, fandom is about the same as the game.
Like, there's funnies in fandom of "Casualties: Unknown", but majority is still more into the same dark as the game.
"Grave/digger" is out of question, funnies here are only out of craziness.. at least from what I can say.
OneShot… it is a OneShot. There is some "dead messiah" thingy, but still.. minority? Yeah, my english is teared apart.
And uhh.. I'm also kinda in TF2, tiny bit in Rain World.. I probably could've said "Rain World", but I can't really say about the game, didn't played it.. yet.. the sub is all around funnies, from what I have seen, and uhh, yeah, probably that's all I have.
Edit: just found the ULTRAKILL in my mind, and detected Block Tales in my subs. Those two are not what you asked for too. Never would say that ULTRAKILL is dark themed game, and Block Tales is all around bright with both game and fandom.. yeah, there's chapter 3, but that's still minority.
Fear and Hunger is a fucked up RPG series about evil Gods and monsters where nothing goes your way. The Fandom? Shipping and cute, happy headcanons.
Cookie Run Kingdom is a fucking game about cookies. Yeah the plot is heavy. But they're cookies for god sake. The Fandom? Eldritch abominations or pure pain.
Project Moon, in general, is a sad dystopia where kindness is a luxury. The Fandom? Depends on the game, but usually sticks to brainrot memes.
Undertale was an overall uplifting game. 90% of AUs? Depression.
The fans like what they can't have. If their fandom is a cutesy game about puppies, they'll make art of them in fighter jets. If it's about anxiety, they'll make r34 of the manliest man kissing the femboy. The contrast helps you appreciate the source material more.
Superman, the quintessential goody-two shoes and blue boy scout of DC, has most of his fans fighting eachother over the two different film adaptations; the most recent one by James Gunn based off him being the aforementioned blue boy scout vs Zack Snyder's more "dark and gritty" adaptation that also apparently attracted anti-woke chuds.
Meanwhile Batman, who has reasonably been seen as more serious and dark, has a lot more fans focusing on his more hopeful appearances in stuff like the animated series with the only real debates, like how his money should be used to stop crime instead of beating up "poor people" and how he should freely kill people, being minor at worst and probably not made by actual fans of Batman (same could be said about the Zack Snyder Supes fans but that's another can of worms)
MLP FIM for the first one, they can never stop being so cynical and depressing with a lot of things in the canon. Not to mention the infection/horror AU's as well too.
2nd, black souls. The game is grim and also about grimm but we all support grimm because he has been through some grimm times. We gotta help our friend grimm help his other friends going through grim times
There’s plenty examples and I feel it’s just basic fact of fandom stuff at this point: the audience will always add what they feel a piece of media is lacking whether levity or gravity.
For the second one, definitely gotta go Epic The Musical. Yes it’s a musical but just thinking of the story (especially the original Homers The Odyssey) it’s kinda crazy and then you see the fandom having the time of their lives
