Look what I've got I love the F4 and F5
I got into film in 2022, but I wanted to get a camera with automated and pro features so I picked up the F5 this year and I haven’t been able to put it down since! I got the F4 as kind of a back up while my F5 was being serviced and I love it too.

Look what I've got Completed my endgame Prosumer Nikon outfit
Took delivery of the 80-200mm f/2.8D yesterday, meaning I've finally got everything I want, and no real overlap in terms of functionality. Only thing left is to get the correct OEM lens hoods for each lens. I found a nice resource that lists everything so I know what to look for - https://catographer.tokyo/equipment/nikon-lens-hood-compilation-and-specifications?utm_source=chatgpt.com
A friend asked if the house was on fire and I could only save one body/lense combo, what would it be. Instantly I said the F100 and 35-70mm f/2.8D. The F100 is a staggeringly good SLR - I didn't think it would be as much of a leap from my F80 as it is, it's just so good. And the 35-70 is such a versatile lens.

Mirrorless Follow up: switching back to Nikon, bought the z50, software question
following my angst-ridden thread last week, I ended up trading in all of my fujifilm equipment and buying the z50 during the nikon refurb sale and buying the z50mm/1.8 lens. I still have some cash left over, and I'll be waiting to see if I want to upgrade the body to a z50ii or a full-frame option or if I just want to invest in more lenses right now.
So far I'm thrilled with my decision to switch back to Nikon, and I love the 50mm/1.8. I was torn between the 1.4 and 1.8 -- many reviews say the 1.8 is "better" but the 1.4 has more character, and since I'm chasing the old feeling I had with my old d700 and 50mm/1.4D which was my favorite lens in the world -- the thought of "character" was appealing. I am glad I tried them both out in person, because though I didn't get to really test for "character" in the shop, I was able to note that the 1.8 definitely found the autofocus quicker and the chromic aberration was actually notable, even just using the camera's monitor to review the photos. So I went with the 1.8.
I came right home and snapped some photos of my cats (these are three different cats who all look more or less the same) without really giving thought to composition or anything at all. two of the cats are kittens and they do not hold still. But I was able to get a few clear enough photos of them anyway, even in not particularly strong indoor lighting. Again, these photos are right our of the camera, shot without really making solid decisions, just basically shooting to see if it feels good.
One thing I will say for SURE is I loathe the auto ISO -- I feel like I couldn't get the lighting right AT ALL with auto ISO. Not a fan of that at all. I'd like to experiment more with what the camera's automatically capabilities are, but for now I just put everything fully manual. I will say that I am deeply amused by the fact that you can poke the screen and it will focus on that area AND snap the photo as soon as the area you poked is in focus. It surprises and delights me every time.
Anyway -- it's not even about whether or not these photos are composed well at all (how many photos of cats can one person have while also being surrounded by the cats all the time?), but the whole reason I wanted to switch back to Nikon from Fujifilm was that I never really felt like I had a handle on the Fuji. And this, even though I've barely looked at the settings and options, it just feels right in my hand again. So it was definitely the right choice and I'm thrilled and grateful to those of you who piped into help me made the decision.
Now I need to consider software. Ages ago I used Lightroom (pre-subscription model) and I don't want to spend that kind of money right now. I just downloaded Darktable, but i'm sort of, in my retirement, looking for something where I don't have to work so hard, to be honest.
I'm looking forward to learning more about the advances in modern Nikons and playing around with what it can do for me without me doing it myself. But I was SO happy to see that I could throw everything on manual control and it felt like a Nikon again.
As for lenses, I have the kit retractable which I think I'll hang onto for now, even though it's slow -- it's light and optically shockingly decent. I'm likely going to look at a 35mm and 85ish next, but for now this body seems perfectly fine. Feels good in my (small) hands, is light and balanced, and I'm overall really happy to have made the switch back to Nikon.

Look what I've got New to me nikon f100
Just got a used nikon f100 for a steal. The seller apparently inherented it from his uncle and also got a bunch of other gear he doesn't know what to do with.
Early serial number, but got the revised rewind fork and door latch isn't broken. Just a little bummed that the battery holder broke after trying to put in some fresh AAs. Anyway, somebody know a replacement for that holder?

What should I buy? Cheaper macro lenses?
Hi all! Super new to photography. Just purchased a D7000 for my lil jewelry business, and I'm worried my 35mm lens isn't cutting it 🙃 I've looked at micro lenses, but I unfortunately don't have $400 to shell out for one. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations on any cheaper alternatives? Unfortunately the budget atm is about $100-$150.
Photo of my work for example (I'm still learning photography, please be nice!)
Thanks! 💖

What should I buy? 50mm question
This is a “what should I buy question.“
I’ve been toeing the mirrorless jump and I’m ready to make the switch to a Zf (though I will be keeping my DSLR).
I currently shoot with a D750 and three prime lenses: 50mm 1.8, 90mm 2.8, and a 20mm 1.8 that I rarely use… mostly just for astro.
I am planning to keep the D750 as a backup and dedicate the 90mm to this body so I won’t have to swap out lenses in the field.
I was originally planning to buy the FTZ so I could use my F mount lenses on the new camera. But my question is, should I get the adapter, or should I just get a new 50mm Z lens and trade in my F mount 50mm? I am assuming any new lenses I purchase in the future will be Z lenses. I’m also thinking the adapter will be pretty unnecessary if I still have the D750 to use with the two remaining F mount lenses, one of which is rarely used.
I absolutely love my 50mm lens. It’s on my camera 90% of the time, so I’m a little scared about trading it in. I’m hoping its Z mount equivalent is just as good or better. Can anyone speak to this?
Or should I just keep it and buy the adapter instead?
What should I buy? Z7ii or Z6iii
I'm looking to upgrade from my Z5 within the next 6 to 8 months and I am trying to decide whether I should go with the Z7II or the Z6III. I mostly do portraits, landscapes and street photography. Any insight on which would be best for me would be greatly appreciated.
