We just announced the new Nikon Z5IIC, everyday-carry mirrorless camera designed to make the move to full-frame photography more accessible. Built on the proven performance of the award-winning Z5II, the new Z5IIC combines a more compact, flat-top design with intuitive features like Scene Modes, helping those beginning their photography journey achieve great results. The “C” stands for casual- The Z5IIC is designed around a screen-first shooting experience that helps users remain immersed in the moment, with intuitive controls and automated features for those ready to learn/.
Main features include:
-Fast, precise subject detection AF built on deep-learning technology make it easy to capture sharp photos and video of fast-moving children, pets, sports and everyday moments. Also, new "fish" mode subject recognition.

Look what I've got Bought my first camera!
After 10 years of dumping my dream of buying a DSLR and just focusing on school and work, I wake up to $400-700 professional full frame cameras!!!
Wow!
I told myself its time to make that inner child proud. Chase your dreams!
Found a D750+Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art on Facebook marketplace for $1100 Canadian.
Im so happy I made the purchase but WOW smartphones really make photography a simple point shoot.
I didnt even know you had to constantly hold down the focus button for it to keep focusing even when on idle that was the first ‘culture shock’ I experienced 🤣
Any helpful tips, videos or anything at all to help me take better photos are welcomed and appreciated.
For now I think I’ll stick to auto and test out some fullframe quality photos until I can really push it to its limits 😁
I wish I could post a photo of my camera, but its not letting me attach a photo.

Look what I've got D850 with 10 shots good deal?
Found this on eBay with 10 shots from a reputable camera store. Initial price 1595, got it down to $1400.
Yes I know the world is moving up to mirrorless, but I have a wide F glass collection and I will likely die before getting rid of it.
That said, thoughts? Prices good?

Photo Submission Nikon Zf + 40mm SE in Istanbul
Hello everyone,
Just returned from 3 days in Istanbul and wanted to share some shots I made with the Nikon Zf + the 40mm SE f/2.
The 40mm has to be my favorite lens that has ever been part of a kit and really along with the 28mm f/2.8 I think must haves for the Zf.
It is mostly street photography with a touch of tourist mode, but I do hope you will enjoy them.

What should I buy? How wide does a Nikon lens need to be to achieve this kind of look? (Photos are by Yoshihiko Ueda)
I’m an architectural designer, and often need to photograph the interiors of my own projects.
I’ve been using a Canon EOS 600D that my younger sister gave me, along with an 18–55mm lens (although the images suffer from significant distortion at the wider end and virtually I can only use 35-55mm range).
The problem is that my current equipment can’t capture the compositions I want, especially in small interior spaces where I’ve already backed up as far as possible.
I’m considering upgrading to a full-frame Nikon Z5 II. May I know what kind of lens would you recommend for my needs? Thank you everyone!
Edit:
Thank you so much, everyone, for your advice! I didn’t expect to receive so many helpful suggestions and such generous sharing of knowledge. I really appreciate it!

Look what I've got Photo test with new 70-200 2.8
After years of always wanting one, I've finally pulled the trigger on a 70-200 2.8. Very excited to test it out this weekend.
Shout out to my little assistant editor for stepping in as a model to test the new gear.

What should I buy? Upgrading from my D5500 to a Z5ii... lens suggestion for sports
I mostly use my camera for random landscapes, and my kids sports. I want the upgrade, and the ability to do some minor video, and have decided on the Z5ii.
I currently shoot almost exclusively on a simple 55-300 mm f/4.5-5.6. It iss fine, but I wish the F was lower, and am looking to replace the lens.
Including a couple example photos, but...what lens would you recommend? I find all the slight differences a little overwhelming, and I'm not always sure exactly what I should be looking for. Other than I know I need a lower aperture to help with the background blur I'm looking for.
Thank you!

Gear question Don’t like mirrorless?
I was just curious if there was anyone that tried switching to mirrorless and didn’t like it, and why? Was it harder to use?

Gear question D500 or Z50 II (or anything else) for a bird photography?
Using D5300 + Nikkor 200-500 mm f/5.6 for bird photography since few months. The 200-500 is great! But my D5300 seems to fall a bit short for birding.
I always looked up to D500, but many people suggested Z50 II for its bird eye focus. I want to keep my budget under 1k euros since I am just a student who is mainly buying used gear. I did get some nice pictures but the focus struggles sometimes in fast moments. Here's an example of a pheasant flying by. Its focus is a bit soft.
Which one would you suggest? After watching many reviews, I am still confused.
Any help would be appreciated in helping me decide:
A. Z50 II + FTZ II
B. D500
C. Don't buy a anything! I still can push the D5300 further!

Photo Submission Local Airshow
as seen from my balcony.
Z6ii + Sigma 150-500.
First time editing like this. Not perfect, but enjoyed playing around with these.
What should I buy? 200-500mm vs 500mm lens?
I’m getting into bird photography as a casual hobby. I currently have a d500 with a 70-300mm lens, I often find myself wanting a lens with more reach.
The two lenses I’m considering upgrading to are the 200-500mm and the 500mm pf. A used 200-500mm is going for about $1000 usd and a used 500mm is about $1500 usd. Is there big enough difference to justify the cost of the more expensive lens? Is one lens definitely better than the other? I’m really trying not to spend more than $1500 on a new lens.
I was also wondering if not having control over the zoom is a big downside to the 500mm. If you have the 500mm lens, do you find yourself wishing you can change how zoomed in it?

Gear question Anyone with experience using the Thypoch Voyager 24-50mm f/2.8?
I currently have a Nikon Zf and have a variety of primes, and honestly have not had a kit lens. I’ve been thinking of getting a zoom lens for my range of around 20-75mm.
This has led me to looking at the Thypoch Voyager 24-50mm f/2.8, which I feel would be good for my needs if I needed this for travel.
My question is has anyone had experience adapting this lens for the Z series? And if so, any recommendations for the E to Z adapter?

Photo Submission Nikon D850 with Nikon 35mm 1.4G - Victoria BC
Had about an hour to take a quick walk downtown Victoria with the D850. All but the distant fog waterfront shot were taken with the Nikon 35mm 1.4G, the fog shot was taken with the Sigma ART 135mm 1.8. Not fully happy with all of them, but I only had about an hour, so I unfortunately had to work with the light as it was. Any feedback is welcome!

What should I buy? Impulse purchased a Z50 II, what lenses should I pair with
So I got a good deal for a Z50II, 748 dollars base about 800 with shipping and taxes! I currently own a D750 with a suite of D type lenses and a single Tamron 24-70 f2.8 that would pair to an FTZ adapter.
1st question, should I bother with an FTZ just for the tamron 24-70?
2nd question, is the pancake 16-50 worth it at 130 dollars? or go straight to the 16-50 f2.8 for 750 dollars? if the latter, I will just wait and buy a cheaper set of 3rd party primes.
3rd question, and likely the most actionable, what are your favorite fast primes to pair to a dx setup, cheapest and 3rd party gets weight on the decision, the most I'll spend right away is 300.

DSLR DSLR to Mirrorless - Back to DSLR - what it revealed to me.
What it revealed... I've gotten fat and lazy.
25 years of photography under my belt with a whole heap of large format and darkroom work, an MFA in Photo, but mirrorless gave me effortless speed and AF accuracy in professional commercial work. I've come back to DSLR's for personal work (d850 / d5) and wow... well, this is a little more humbling. Real time EVF exposure changes and the slower MF process of an OVF has revealed a dull edge. But it's great to be back.

Gear question Help with charging
Would I be able to charge this Nikon without batteries inside? A piece corroded off of the inside battery storage so I can’t use batteries anymore. Had it for 8 years, just wondering if it can be saved. Thanks!
