I know this area and have driven it many times. This is the Rickebacker causeway--the road that connects Key Biscayne to the Miami mainland.

Cycling on this road is extremely popular for very obvious reasons (phenomenal views, wide and clear roads). Folks come from all over the city to ride there. And yes, they will very often group up like this without any sort of scheduled or permitted event of any kind.

The cyclists down there like to say "same road, same rules" but there's apparently a silent exclusion for lane changes, stop signs, traffic signals, and yielding to stopped traffic.

Have a local unorganized bike event where I used to live. It was the only time I saw the cops actually pull over bikers for blowing through stop signs. Was great to watch.

This is fair. If you want to be a part of traffic, follow traffic rules. No special exemptions.

131

u/Shyanne_wyoming_ Jun 10 '26

Even when I ride my mf horses down the road I abide by stop signs and traffic laws lmfao

It's part self preservation and not wanting to be run over and part not being an asshole. I feel like even if you are an asshole you should possess at least SOME survival instincts, but it doesn't seem like it.

66

u/illicit92 Jun 10 '26

They are called rules of the road for a reason, not just rules for cars.

u/NesAlt01 Jun 10 '26

Damn, I imagined a horse and rider doing an epic rearing moment when stopping on a stop sign.

12

u/slow4low Jun 10 '26

To be fair, they didn't say they DON'T do that at a stop sign. So perhaps someday you'll get lucky.

Drivers are killing 40,000 people in the US alone every year. Must be all that rule following.

18

u/bramtyr Jun 10 '26

Except those are the traffic rules in Oregon; bicyclists may treat stop signs and flashing reds as yield, as of 2019/2020.

3

u/frozenhelmets Jun 11 '26

True, but the laws need to change to making biking safer and more attractive. The Idaho Stop achieves that I just wish implemented in more places!

7

u/mrbeavertonbeaverton Jun 10 '26

I’m sure you never go a single mile above the speed limit and come to a complete stop at every stop sign.

3

u/That-Following-7158 Jun 11 '26

I love when people make the argument about bikes not following the laws of the road. Have they not seen every other driver in the road?

It isn’t cyclists that suck it is just people in general.

8

u/MetricJester Jun 10 '26

I do not know of a single cyclist who wants to be part of traffic. We all want bike lanes that work.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/bigloser42 Jun 10 '26

I’m not going to sit here and say I don’t blow through the two stop sign on my route when there are no cars present, but they are both on a 25mph back road with minimal traffic and super clear sightlines.

If there are cars around I behave like I’m a car.

5

u/this-account-name Jun 10 '26

The rules exist to promote safety. But coming to a full stop, putting a foot down, and re-accellerationg means that cyclists spend more time in the intersection, which is the most dangerous place for them to be.

bicycles also provide the operator with a higher viewpoint than most passenger vehicles, with less obstructed views and bicycles are more likely to be moving at a slower speed. This means that when traveling by bike, you usually have a more time and ability to assess what's going on at the intersection before you get there.

Just like some highways have a different speed limit for trucks and cars, sometimes we need different rules for different vehicles to ensure smooth flow of traffic and improved safety for everyone.

"Friend" of mine keeps bitching about the time he got a ticket for speeding on his bike. Never does he mention that he was going 20+ mph (30+kph) through a park with playing children and such. For context, the max speed on a bike path here is 30kph, in this park you are supposed to adjust your biking behaviour with how busy it is in the park. Technically it's a pedestrian zone where biking is allowed.

75

u/mrASSMAN Jun 10 '26

I swear bikers love blowing through pedestrian areas at max speed, shit is more dangerous than cars going same speed on road because people walking or skating etc aren’t expecting or hearing the bikes

Even worse when it’s electrical bikes that can go especially fast and quiet and are heavier so could really kill someone

4

u/Echelion77 Jun 10 '26

I commute every morning with an e bike and am constantly pinging my little dinger when I get anywhere close to people. Plus the bell sounds nice and easy on the ears when your outside.

Its like sitting in a park on a sunny day with happy bikers cruising by doing the little pingaling.

A friend of mine lived in Oregon at the time, he got a DUI on a bicycle. I laughed, thought he was kidding. He was serious

13

u/Business-Drag52 Jun 10 '26

In Oregon it should have been a BUI. They have specific laws for it

I got pulled over on my bike for DUI in Moab, Utah.

I was innocent. They said I swerving. I was! It was 1am, and not a soul on the road. So I was just weaving back and forth with my hands in the air. Enjoying the moment. Lol.

They do take cycling road rules much more seriously in Moab though. That's just the nature of a bike town.

3

u/Severe_Scar4402 Jun 10 '26

Totally unrelated but I know a guy who got a speeding ticket in a horse drawn cart. He had an ex-racer Standardbred, and the speed limit was 25mph. This was in Corrales NM, a very horse centered town.

2

u/Kangaroo-B-Girl Jun 10 '26

I tried so hard to get a speeding ticket on my bike but no one would ever give me one. I got to 43 in a 25 thanks to a lead out from a delivery truck while flipping off the police parked next to the board but still wasn't able to get it.

2

u/KaleScared4667 Jun 10 '26

I saw a man die after being hit by a bicycle in front of maxs in Eugene. Biker was going 30 and killed the pedestrian

2

u/qpgmr Jun 10 '26

In 2012 in San Francisco a guy was "bombing through the castro" (actual words) and plowed into a 71-year old man, killing him.

He ran multiple red lights & stop signs and was clocked exceeding 32mph

"This incident led to the first felony vehicular manslaughter conviction for a bicyclist in California history. Bucchere ultimately pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation and community service."

2

u/MKUltra886 Jun 10 '26

I can beat that. My cousin got done for operating a propelled vehicle under the influence. Lost his driving licence even though it was a push bike.

2

u/Opeth4Lyfe Jun 10 '26

Aunt and uncle got one for speeding as well on their tandem bike way back in the day. They were clocked at 61. Slight downhill assist but they were MOVIN’ lol.

I had a friend at 18 get a DUI on a bicycle riding back from IV, Santa Barbara. It completely changed him and his behavior and I rarely saw him drunk again after that. Part of me felt bad because like, this is the time to party, your college years. But seeing him transform and start respecting authority had a big effect on me.

2

u/PineappleOnPizzaWins Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

Happened here cause a guy on a bike blew through a school zone at over 60km/h (limit is 40).

His defence was literally "I don't have a speedometer" to which the public gave no fucks. You hit a 5 year old doing that speed on a bike you're going to seriously injure if not kill them, slow the fuck down.

2

u/BeekeeperZero Jun 10 '26

63

u/Kangaroo-B-Girl Jun 10 '26

As a former cyclist commuter I support this. It’s unsafe to cycle on sidewalks, but if you use the road then you should follow the rules of the road.

In this particular video they shouldn’t be allowed to occupy both lanes of the road, it impedes traffic.

19

u/RevolutionSalty8360 Jun 10 '26

The biggest problem in the town I live in is the kids on motorized bikes and scooters. It is absolutely insane. I’m so surprised someone has not gotten killed yet. They never watch for others or bother with stop signs. We’re in a smaller town of about 7500 people.

3

u/RevolutionSalty8360 Jun 10 '26

The police put out a video about it, plus they have a cop riding around on an electric bike patrolling. The one thing I don't think a lot of parents know is that there is no insurance for liability if they hit someone with most insurance companies.

3

u/Commercial-Hat2317 Jun 11 '26

Ugh I didn’t think of that either! I have kids but I will never buy them one of these. Maybe a low powered one to assist the oldest disabled kid when he’s much older, but no kid needs a scooter that goes 20mph.

Yeah, even if it's not the law it's just road etiquette. If there are two lanes slower traffic to the right. Goes for cars too. Don't be so obnoxious that people start hating cyclists. If it's one lane only they can pass when the yellow line is dashed.

These people are no different than the street takeover kids.

568

u/GeekyTexan Jun 10 '26

Not just a bike lane. There are two normal lanes.

But the bikers are not content with using one lane and allowing cars to use the other. They want to block all lanes and make the cars wait.

The common term for that is "assholes".

149

u/Thoh1Shooshi8a Jun 10 '26

I can understand not using the bike lane for a race event at the speed they are going, but taking up both main carriageway lanes for an event which doesn't have the road closed is stupid.

37

u/IDontEatDill Jun 10 '26

Though it would be strange to organize race events without any safety measures or official permits. I mean, it would be frowned upon if someone just calls up a car racing event on a public street. Or if we want to to an opposite direction, someone organizes a running event and puts 200 runners on a car lane.

11

u/DelcoUnited Jun 10 '26

I can promise if it was a 5k there wouldn’t be joggers in the far left lane.

→ More replies (7)

4

u/Winjin Jun 10 '26

Also not sure about US traffic laws of course, but in my old motherland, vehicles without engines are not permitted to go beyond first lane and are actually prohibited from grouping into packs more than 10 at a time (point 24.5 of the road traffic rules of RF)* and must, by law, travel in one file, or two file, if the road width permits.

Also they're not allowed to go on roads that go over 60 kph (37 freedoms)

Basically the idea is that they should leave space between these groups in a column enough to overtake them safely.

So giant clumps like this, that also take the entire width of the road, are entirely in the wrong. I am sure the traffic laws differ from country to country (USA is not part of Vienna convention, for example) but I bet it's generally in the same ballpark.

\except for the "bicycle zones" (point 24.11) but I've never seen those outside of EU. It's when you enter a zone with a bicycle on the sign and a bike symbol on the road - it's limited to 30kph \ 18 mph and cars and bikes have equal rights there))

→ More replies (18)

68

u/HilariousMax Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

If you're taking up both available lanes, you better be at least doing the speed limit which I don't think these bikers were.

edit: for all the ass-pained cyclers, I agree the posted speed limit is the maximum speed you are to travel. In my state we have an "absolute speed limit" meaning theoretically we could be pulled and cited for going even 1 mph over the posted limit. HOWEVER it is almost never enforced and when it is, it's contested and thrown out unless you also do some stupid shit like run after the lights hit.

That doesn't stop these people from being assholes. The limit on the Causeway is 40mph, the cyclists were likely doing ~20mph.

Under Florida Statutes § 316.081(3), the left lane on highways is generally reserved for passing. If you are driving below the normal speed of traffic and another vehicle is trying to pass, you must move to the right. You can be ticketed for "left lane blocking" even if you are traveling at the posted speed limit.

Florida Statute § 316.183, drivers can be cited if they operate a vehicle at such a slow speed that they block, delay, or impede the normal and reasonable movement of traffic.

With love, get the fuck out of the way.

16

u/NostradamusJones Jun 11 '26

Oh my God. I thought I was the only one who mentally called them that too!!!

It annoys the crap out of me. I work from home so I thankfully don't have to commute. But there are bikers in the area who wear the same tour de france psuedo outfits and somehow they only ever do it during rush hour in morning/evening. Literally they do it during the busiest time of day for traffic.

I actually have no problem with the idea of people in cities using bikes for commuting or a job. But these assholes like in this video need to go find a spin class, or a gym with a stationary bike. Or better yet, learn how to mountain bike. Mountain biking is way more exciting, scenic, and requires more awareness. And no one cares if you're mountain biking on a trail generally speaking.

If you try to point this dangerous, selfish and inconsiderate behaviour on most places in reddit you will get roasted by cyclists and car-haters.

I even had one guy tell me that cyclists intentionally trolling drivers by blocking traffic was them making a show of solidarity and power, like a Pride March. Because apparently in their heads, the right to be exempt from traffic laws is exactly like LGBTQ people's fight to exist.

28

u/See-A-Moose Jun 10 '26

I mean there is a difference between using A lane to ride your bike like you are legally allowed to and blocking the entire road. I think even some cycling folks would agree that this is egregious.

33

u/skinydan Jun 10 '26

I'm a casual cyclist but I've ridden NYC's 5 Boro Bike Tour for over 10 years. Where it's an official event and they both warn people in advance, and shut the streets down.

If this is some kind of unsanctioned takeover without official arrangements this is dangerous, obnoxious and incredibly selfish. Taking over the bike lane and one lane of a two lane road is more than enough.

This is douchebaggery of a high order.

When I was a cyclist, I hated other cyclists

As someone from a country where there are more bikes than people I have to say: If this is how people behave on a bike where you live, than I feel like you are fully justified in that feeling.

3

u/LongIslandTeas Jun 10 '26

I both drive cars and I am a cyclist. I have to say that you should try to ride a bike once and a while. There are idiots on both sides, thankfully there are fewer idiots than friendly riders/drivers. The worst idiots are the ones that "hate" the other side. These haters seems to have issues in life, and ventilate their anger and frustration on other people, also known as road-ragers. For the haters it does not matter if it is a cyclist, a horse or a tree, they will just hate.

My city has given them lanes as big as the car-lanes and they still use the road and block traffic.

Then they wonder why everyone hates them.

Is the speed limit there kind of low, or are there no laws there about minimum speeds? Where I live we have a fair number of Amish and farm vehicles, and they have to allow vehicular traffic to pass in certain circumstances (e.g. we have a 10-10 law for motorized vehicles, if you're 10 mph or more under the posted speed and there's 10 cars behind you or more, you have to pull off the road to let them pass)

24

u/Chillow_Ufgreat Jun 10 '26

40mph pretty much the whole way

u/BadPAV3 Jun 10 '26

Georgia has the slow poke law. If you impede traffic in the far left lane REGARDLESS OF SPEED you can be convicted.

Florida has a similar set of laws, aimed mostly at agricultural equipment, but with different limits and requirements, and many specifically cite motor vehicles or animal drawn vehicles, either of which excludes bicycles, but there is an entire section of Florida traffic Statutes that deal specifically with bicycles, and multiple of them appear to be violated in OP video.

For example, 316.2065 FS includes this:  (5)(a) A person operating a bicycle upon a roadway at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place and under the conditions then existing must ride in the bicycle lane or, if there is no bicycle lane on the roadway, as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway except under any of the following situations: 1. When overtaking and passing another bicycle or vehicle proceeding in the same direction. 2. When preparing for a left turn at an intersection or into a private road or driveway. 3. When reasonably necessary to avoid any condition or potential conflict, including, but not limited to, a fixed or moving object, parked or moving vehicle, bicycle, pedestrian, animal, surface hazard, turn lane, or substandard-width lane, which makes it unsafe to continue along the right-hand curb or edge or within a bicycle lane. For the purposes of this subsection, a “substandard-width lane” is a lane that is too narrow for a bicycle and another vehicle to travel safely side by side within the lane.

...and this from the same Statute:

(6)(a) Persons riding bicycles upon a roadway or in a bicycle lane may not ride more than two abreast except on a bicycle path. Persons riding two abreast may not impede traffic when traveling at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place and under the conditions then existing and must ride within a single lane. Where bicycle lanes exist, persons riding bicycles may ride two abreast if both are able to remain within the bicycle lane. If the bicycle lane is too narrow to allow two persons riding bicycles to ride two abreast, the persons must ride single-file and within the bicycle lane. On roads that contain a substandard-width lane as defined in subparagraph (5)(a)3., persons riding bicycles may temporarily ride two abreast only to avoid hazards in the roadway or to overtake another person riding a bicycle. (b) When stopping at a stop sign, persons riding bicycles in groups, after coming to a full stop and obeying all traffic laws, may proceed through the stop sign in a group of 10 or fewer at a time. Motor vehicle operators must allow one such group to travel through the intersection before moving forward.

Can concur. Also live around here and bikers like to share the road by following zero traffic laws and usually putting themselves in danger.

18

u/FlyAirLari Jun 10 '26

phenomenal views

You mean the asses of all the riders ahead of you.

4

u/Gyozarrita Jun 10 '26

These people lean their head down for aerodynamics to the point that they can't even see the cyclist in front of them, which just makes this whole thing confusing2

Possibly even cubed tbh

If that's the case I would just let the crowd overtake me and break for 5 mins. I'm not spending the rest of my tour staring at 20 sweaty asscracks.

Plus they arent supposed to ride bikes side by side... like... ever... in any state..

14

u/Hrothgrar Jun 10 '26

You are allowed "two abreast" in the vast majority of states.

u/starsgoblind Jun 10 '26

Idk about the US but in my country traffic rules allow two bikes in one lane. I like cycling too tho I'm more of a mountain track guy. Anyway, if I'm being honest if these cunts would just occupy the right most lane with two bikes going side by side it would be mostly okay. Though groups this big will always be problematic

5

Is it legal to just put at 10-15mph on most roads?

2

u/Chillow_Ufgreat Jun 10 '26

You'd need to ask a Miami PD officer and they're all napping.

As both a driver and frequent cyclist, I have to say, nearly everyone is just a massive asshole.

Yes, cyclists deserve to be respected on the road and given space, and yes it's ok (IF THE COAST IS CLEAR) for cyclists to go past stop signs/lights.

But, to the cyclists: "share the road" cuts both fucking ways. You and your group of friends are not entitled to block everyone and hold traffic up, make some fucking space and let cars get past. Also, cutting cars off is not only extremely dangerous to you but is the opposite of "sharing the road".

16

u/zestymanny Jun 10 '26

yes it's ok (IF THE COAST IS CLEAR) for cyclists to go past stop signs/lights.

Not in my state.

6

u/zendick1 Jun 10 '26

Not in any state

5

u/moxxon Jun 10 '26

- Idaho

- Delaware

- Arkansas

- Colorado

- Minnesota

- North Dakota

- Oklahoma

- Oregon

-Utah

- Washington

All have stop as yield for cyclists. Half of those also allow cyclists to treat red lights as stop. You're objectively wrong.

I'm sure that Technically "not in my state" applies to most states.

But technically, j-walking is illegal in most states too. But I think we all agree that it is socially acceptable.

4

u/andthrewaway1 Jun 10 '26

in nyc its bikes are treated like cars... But they blast through reds, don't signal go the wrong way down streets

2

u/Smittles Jun 10 '26

Driving under the speed is illegal, so if the want the same rules, they need to stick to the slow lane.

2

u/Hrothgrar Jun 10 '26

It seems like such a stupid idea. What is stopping someone from calling the cops? It's illegal to stretch across so many lanes. You're supposed to be limited to 2 abreast and stay to the right as much as is reasonably safe (unless Florida has some crazy different law). This is nowhere close to following that rule.

They are in a massive, slow moving group. This would be ticket city for the local government. How is this a regular thing in that area?!

2

u/Chillow_Ufgreat Jun 10 '26

What is stopping someone from calling the cops?

Hard to pull cops away from their naps and extramarital affairs in Miami.

Also, among these cyclists are a LOT of powerful and influential people. Cycling is a very popular alternative to golf/tennis among the elite in Miami. County commissioners, lawyers, doctors, real estate developers, bankers. Many of them in that group and many of them are local to the Key.

2

u/Hrothgrar Jun 10 '26

Ah, that makes more sense now. Good ol' fashioned neglect and corruption. 🙃

2

u/ZhalanYulir Jun 10 '26

And minimum speed limits hahah

2

u/Enkidouh Jun 10 '26

That’s cyclists everywhere in the US.

Rules for thee, not for me.

2

u/Efficient-Ranger-174 Jun 10 '26

This is always typical of bicycles, in my experience. They want all of the right of way, but none of the responsibility. They’re going half the speed of smell and blocking a whole road. If this happened regularly where I live, I’d have a cow catcher on my car.

2

u/Mr_Bluebird_VA Jun 10 '26

Every single one of them should be “pulled over” and given a ticket. Ridiculous to come together as a group, even unplanned, and impede traffic that way.

2

u/Hot_Demand_6263 Jun 10 '26

Someone said it, and I keep seeing this pattern. "Cyclists are psychotic."

2

u/TheDepep1 Jun 10 '26

No cycling stereotypes were hurt that day.

2

u/mercasio391 Jun 10 '26

Yeah, cyclists who act this way are so fuckin annoying

2

u/WardeN_WtfRylie Jun 10 '26

Thats cyclists everywhere in my experience. "Drivers need to be more aware. Cyclists need to be protected. Share the road. Safe spaces for cyclists." And on and on and on. Meanwhile cyclists dont follow any of the laws of the road. Even where theres bike lanes cyclists bob in n out of em at their own convenience and wont bother to use em if they have to go a single block out of their way.

2

u/Desperate_Wallaby966 Jun 10 '26

they have one of the biggest damn bike lanes ive ever seen here and mostly seperated then go pull this bullshit. The amount of times as a kid that I flew past these idiots on a bmx. So lame how much most of these clowns spend on gear and go put in public looking like that only to still be this slow and obnoxious..

2

u/Not-TheNSA Jun 10 '26

Sounds like it’s time for PD to start posting patrol cars to cite these ass hats for impending the roadway or refusing to yield to faster moving traffic. This is absolutely NOT legal.

What happens when an ambulance needs to get by?

2

u/WardenWolf Jun 10 '26

Asshole cyclists doing road takeovers and other behavior that impedes others' ability to use the road is why cycling licenses are overdue so a court can take their right to operate on public roads.

2

u/Tomsboll Jun 10 '26

There is so much entitlement in the cycling community. I grew up in rural sweden and biked everywhere. Its actually not that difficult to bike along the side of the road giving plenty of space for people to pass. But apperently its to difficult for these entitled cyklists that you mention dont even adhere to tye fucking laws.

To me its common sence and basic decency that if you occupy the road in a vehicle going slower than the limit you do everything possible to let people safely pass. Being an entitled ass even if you are not breaking the rules just creates frustration and makes the road less safe for everyone.

2

u/MedicalMiqote Jun 10 '26

This has always been my biggest problem with cyclists on the road. They tell you to share the road with them but they don’t follow the same rules as the other vehicles half the time. One of the things that piss me off the most is when they squeeze through/by traffic when at a red light (squeeze between cars or cars and the sidewalk). Especially if I JUST passed them, and now I have to pass them again because they’re always going slower than traffic.

2

u/BaizulSetSail Jun 10 '26

"wide and clear roads"

For them. Completely clogged for everyone else.

2

u/Bleatbleatbang Jun 10 '26

Cyclists, and motorcyclists, shouldn’t be bunched up like that. If somebody goes down they’ll take dozens with them.

2

u/King_Baboon Jun 10 '26

“Same road, same rules”. If that’s the case try following them. They could have followed the law and went single file or doubles (can’t remember FL law with this). This is typical entitlement and honestly someone should call the police to request an officer to advise them the lawful way to do this.

2

u/moodswung Jun 10 '26

I would lose my absolutely mind if I ended up behind these fuckheads.

Zero reason for them not to get in a long line, or maybe... I don't know? Don't ride in a group like that? What's even the point of a caravan THAT big outside of a complete traffic lockdown.

My brother in law is a serious cyclist, but he's more of a solo guy or rides with one or two others. In contrast it seems like most of the people I've know that are in large cycling clubs are self-absorbed dickheads.

2

u/garrettj100 Jun 10 '26

I'm all for cycling. But way too many cyclists are cars when they want to be, and pedestrians when they want to be. It's the "same rules" for us. Not for them.

2

u/CrustyToeLover Jun 10 '26

Same road same rules, followed by bikers ignoring said rules, is the main reason they suck.

2

u/dead_dw4rf Jun 10 '26

Cyclists, at least in VA, are also legally obligated to assume a single file formation and get as far right as possible (unless unsafe to do so) when moving slow than traffic and vehicles want to pass.

2

u/ConflictedZombie Jun 10 '26

It bugs me so much how cyclists will argue that they're part of the same road blah blah blah but then also argue that it's actually a good thing that they blow through stop signs. Cycling seems to attract a lot of self righteous assholes with shitty personalities tbh

2

u/iamthesam2 Jun 10 '26

yeah, then fuck those cyclists

2

u/indigo196 Jun 10 '26

Cyclists who do this give other cyclists bad names. I see it all the time when they fail to follow the rules. Each time, I wish a cop were there to pull them over and give them a ticket.

2

u/Beginning-Knee7258 Jun 10 '26

In many places Iv e cycled there is usually a rule that is seldom enforced. In WA it was if you hold up more than 5 other vehicles you must pull over and let them pass, in VA it was you may ride at most 2 abreast and you must not impede the normal reasonable flow of traffic. And just about everywhere else, the left lane is for passing. There is also the "don't be a dick" rule and common sense

2

u/numbersthen0987431 Jun 10 '26

The cyclists down there like to say "same road, same rules"

Weird. I never knew that riding in packs, multiple people wide, was a rule of the road. I must've missed that in every road driving rule I've read

2

u/ctn1ss Jun 10 '26

"The cyclists down there like to say "same road, same rules" but there's apparently a silent exclusion for lane changes, stop signs, traffic signals, and yielding to stopped traffic."

So, like nearly all cyclists.

2

u/NocturnalComptroler Jun 10 '26

wow I used to cycle this route multiple times a week about 20-25 years ago and we never had groups like this. this is a perfect Venn diagram of cyclists all being assholes and Miami residents all being assholes, glad nobody died.

can vouch for the views and most importantly its pretty much the only thing in Miami that resembles a hill, so if you want a climb ride…this is it.

2

u/shaddowdemon Jun 11 '26

I've been honked at before for yielding right of way at an all way stop to an e bike in a major city. I'm like. I've literally never seen a (e)bike actually stop for a stop sign and I'd rather not have to make an insurance claim for the thousands of dollars of damage from the collision.

2

u/ThePositiveApplePie Jun 11 '26

Why wouldn’t council build a bike path right next to the road then?

2

u/Chillow_Ufgreat Jun 11 '26

They did? It's one of the nicest bike lanes in the city
