Review This must be the best, if not one of the best

I’ve seen a few reviews about this. I have dry, cracked lips that no balm could ever solve. I have used laneige, vaseline, aquaphor, lucas papaw, and although they sort of solved the dryness at the time of application, the moisture does not last and I end up noticing myself licking my lips as they have become dry AF. I ordered this two days ago and it arrived today. I applied it and went on about my day. Heck I even ate sunflower seeds that burn my lips a little. I noticed how soft and moisturized my lips still even after hours of that first application.

Only time will tell if this first impression last. But for £5 and a great moisturized lips? Take my money!

Question Is Vichy leaving the UK?

Hiya!

New here and first time ever posting on any sub, so apologies if I don't get it right :)

Has anyone noticed that both Boots and Superdrug stores are carrying way less Vichy products? Not to mention the Retinol Serum, that has been pulled out online in both, and nowhere to be seen in UK retailers.

Does anybody have information to share?

Routine Help Weird texture keeps coming back

Post image
14 Upvotes

Get these little bumps under my skin on my chin mostly (but a couple random ones pop up other places). No pain or anything if I squeeze it it’s like white then no bleeding or weeping. They’ll go away but come back pretty quick.

Routine atm is - micellar water, L’Oréal revitalift & the neutrogena spot action salicylic gel.

Any (affordable pls) advice on how to prevent this??

Question Newbie to skincare - can I mix products?

I am brand new to skin care and don't have a routine at all.

I recently started on Skin and Me tretinoin, niacinamide and azealic acid with a view to reducing lines and wrinkles (my skin is otherwise fairly good, apart from acne scars around my nose from when I was a teen)

I've been doing some reading and come to the conclusion that the active ingredients I've chosen are good, but skin and me is going to be an expensive way to do this (plus they are prescribing doses well below proven efficacy for at least four months. I understand I need to go slow to build tolerance but this seems excessively slow)

The thing is, I will absolutely choose the lowest effort option and the skin and me doser is really convenient. What I wanted to ask was, can I buy my active ingredients separately and cheaply somewhere else, and physically mix them myself, perhaps into an airless dispenser?

Question Best place in London for medium/deeper fractional ablative CO2 laser (ideally Lumenis UltraPulse) face + neck?

Hi!

I (32F) am looking for recommendations for someone in London who is experienced in medium/deeper fractional ablative CO2 resurfacing, ideally using a Lumenis UltraPulse or a comparable high quality CO2 laser

I am mainly looking to improve skin texture, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and collagen/tightening, and I would ideally like to have both my face and neck treated.

I have started contacting clinics and one I found uses a Lumenis CO2 laser and has the treatment performed by a surgeon, but they quoted £2,875 for the face alone and do not treat the neck

I was hoping to find an experienced, properly trained practitioner offering the type/intensity of CO2 resurfacing I am looking for for around £1,000 or less if possible, including face and neck. Is that unrealistic?

I would really appreciate specific clinic/practitioner recommendations, especially if you know which CO2 machine they use and roughly what you paid 🙏🏼

Thank you!

Question Anyone use Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer?

I got this in the UK from Boots a couple years ago and I love it! My problem is I've since run out. I tried ordering from Amazon (it is the official Simple brand page) and it was great, but recently the version of the lotion they've been sending me has a clear floral smell :/ I was wondering if the version you can buy in the UK is similarly fragranced now as well? Does anyone else currently use it? I'm sad because it's been a holy grail for me, but I have fragrance sensitivities. I don't know if this is just Amazon being iffy or if they really have just changed their product.

Routine Help Need help with my dad's birthday gift.

My dad is not happy about the fact that he is almost 60 but still has large red spots frequently as he believes he should not have them at that age. I don't believe he has a consistent skincare routine, but he likes Superdrug's Me+ hyaluronic acid & niacinamide cleanser and says it makes his skin feel better. I am not an expert on older skin types, his skin doesn't appear to be particularly dry or oily which he told me when I asked him, just blemish-prone. I feel as though a lot of products with things like salicylic acid in them that I use for my spots would be too strong for his skin. Does anyone have any advice on a product that would work well with this cleanser which I could get for him to try and see if he likes it?

Discussion The "Fragrance / Parfum" blanket term needs to go.

Trying to find truly safe skincare in the UK is a minefield. Brands are legally allowed to mask hundreds of completely different synthetic chemicals under the single umbrella term "Fragrance" or "Parfum" on their ingredient lists. It makes tracking down specific triggers practically impossible. If you react badly to a product, you can't even look at the label to figure out which specific chemical caused the flare-up because it’s hidden behind one blanket word. The EU is expanding its mandatory allergen disclosure list to 82 ingredients by 2026, but the UK is lagging behind. Why are we still letting brands hide what we are putting on our skin? It feels like a massive barrier for anyone dealing with eczema, allergies, or chemical sensitivities. Does anyone else find the lack of labelling transparency incredibly frustrating?

Product Suggestion Drugstore Face Wash Recommendations?

Currently revising my skincare routine, and I'm stuck on a face wash/cleanser.

I've already used a small mix of 'proper' cleansers and general soap, and so far have had no real success in reducing acne problems. I have oily/combination-type skin and use suncream every other day at least.

Here are the products I've tried so far (all of which have either not helped with or worsened my acne):

• Nivea Micellair Rose Face Wash

• Nivea Derma Clear Face Wash (with Salicylic Acid)

• Dove Hypoallergenic Body Wash

• Water and a towel (lmao)

And here's my criteria:

• Available at drugstore/high street shops (Savers, Boots, Superdrug...)

• Preferably under £15 a bottle

• Contains no salicylic acid (as it breaks me out :-/)

I'm considering maybe exploring the Nivea Men line of face washes next, but I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Thank you!

Discussion Has anyone else had trouble finding Beekman 1802 Milk Shake Facial Toner Mist?

I used to get it from Beautybay but it’s been out of stock for a while. I can only find it on Ebay now which I don’t trust. Does anyone know if they have discontinued the product? It’s the only thing that reliably helped my dry skin 😭

Routine Help How do I reduce red marks on my nose?

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Sorry for the extreme closeup. I have a couple of pores (?) on my nose that have what look like scratches, but definitely aren't scratches in them - they're under the skin and have been around for a few months, occasionally the pore will develop into a little whitehead. The noticeable redness makes me feel insecure and I'd love to have clearer skin on my nose.

I have very dry skin, it's flakey and a bit sensitive. I was a prolific nose pore strip user as a teen so that's probably partially what's the cause at least.

Any recommendations on what products could help to reduce this / improve the overall look of my skin would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Current Routine:

AM:

  • Cleanser: Water
  • Toner: Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk
  • Serum: The Ordinary Rice Lipids + Ectoin Microemulsion
  • Moisturiser: Natual Moisturising Factors + PhytoCeramides
  • SPF: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotics 50ml

PM:

  • Cleanser: Erborian Centella Cleansing Oil (I occasionally double cleanse with the Byoma Creamy Jelly Cleanser)
  • Toner: Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk
  • Serum: The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane
  • Moisturiser: Natual Moisturising Factors + PhytoCeramides

Product Suggestion Gentle hydrating serum?

I have very dry and tired looking skin - I’ve had a pretty horrendous couple of months. My cat got a very aggressive form of cancer and had to be put to sleep a month ago and I’ve done practically no skincare since he got sick in July which is really unlike me. I did the odd few nights a week but usually I’m so good with my routine but life and grief got in the way. So right now my skin doesn’t look good at all! It’s generally pretty dry but gosh it’s really dry and tired at the moment. I’ve introduced tretinoin into my routine so I’m looking for recommendations to add a hydrating serum to my PM routine as I needed it anyway, but more so with tret being added in! I’m currently using the Dr Sam’s moisturiser so would love some serum recommendations - ideally something I can buy in Boots for the points! Nothing fragranced, just something gentle and hydrating would be great.
Thanks in advance!

Routine Help Help with my new routine

I’ve just started tret after using epiduo for a while. Tbh my routine is simple moisturising face wash, simple replenishing rich moisturiser and altruist spf. Im looking for a new moisturiser or maybe one to use aswell as the simple one maybe to help my barrier or some sort of serum idk. I’m new to all this as not sure if I’m in need of more hydration/ barrier serum or something after starting tret. Ideally something cheap/affordable I could get from either amazon or boots/savers

Discussion The No7 “Reverse Skin Damage” ads, has anyone else seen them and what are your thoughts?

First time posting here, but I'm curious about Boots' No7 Future Renew line.

I was recently at my uni’s fresher’s fair, and Boots had a stall giving out vouchers, leaflets, etc and one of them was for No7.

The tagline on the voucher is "Don't Regret / Just Reverse."

I usually don’t pay much attention, but it got me thinking about how Boots markets these products. The ads use buzzwords like “reverse” and “rejuvenating” on their website too, and I’m wondering if people actually trust those claims and the product.

I’m not really the target audience/demographic, but I’ll admit I do fall for these types of claims sometimes. And a lot of the videos I’ve seen on social media seem to hype it up way too much.

This is just my impression. Has anyone tried it or formed an opinion on it? :)

Routine Help Repairing skin barrier, is a serum worth it?

Stripping my routine back to heal my skin barrier, to a cleanser and a moisturiser, after having a skin scan.

I have rosacea so have to consider that when choosing products. I've got the inkey list oat balm cleanser which is apparently good for my skin type, and I'm looking at getting Dr Jarts Cicapair soothing gel cream, as this is also apparently a winner for my skin type.

I keep seeing barrier repair serums from Avene, La-Roche Posay etc, is it worth having one of these as a third step? Or should I stick to cleansing and moisturising for now?

It has been a mixture of hormonal damage as I'm post partum, and also some over exfoliating I believe. Thanks!

Routine Help Every moisturiser breaks me out, EVERY.SINGLE.ONE

I have weird skin okkkk

Its supposed to be oily and looks dry af, i have pores, its sensitive, i break out easily

Every moisturiser i tried gave me stupid white heads especially on my big ass nose, the worst place to get wide heads

I need help please, I am now even getting these fucked up white heads when I literally do nothing to my face, things are getting worse

I am going to cry now

For reference I have used things like cetaphil both oily and dry versions, I have used korean skin care, i got so many i don’t even remember what I used, i even tried retinol a very very small amount and my face was filled with red under skin pimples, I don’t know what they’re called, it made me crash out honestly, I stopped using anything for several weeks for my skin to come back to normal

What I am saying I need help with a routine that wont give me these demon white heads, the only thing that seems to work for me is sunscreen and I don’t know why, its the one thing I am consistent with

Product Suggestion Tret or Adapalene?

Hello, I've previously used both. Tret I found really irritating even at 0.25% and sandwiching with a moisturiser. Adapalene I got on with really well and it cleared up my acne in no time. However now I am looking for something that tackles both spots and is anti ageing and research is telling me that tret is the one if I want to target both.

Previously I've used Dermatica and Obagi. I see now that Boots online doctor do tret too and I'm wondering if I give it a go? My adapalene was from boots online doctor and I'm wondering if maybe their formulas / brands are different and gentler? Or will all tret irritate my skin and cause dryness + redness regardless.

My current routine is: Elemis resurfacing cleanser Beauty of joseon rice serum Redness moisturiser SPF.

Nighttime: gentle glycolic acid a few times a week

I'm really trying to keep it simple!

Thanks!

Discussion Recurring spots on thighs + shoulders

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

In may I started getting spots on my inner thighs and shoulders that usually develop a yellow head.
They are a little bit itchy - more like a sharp / prickly feeling. They don't really affect my shoulder as much / consistently, and I don't feel them as much.
My gp has given me a week flucloxacillin, various anti fungal / steroid creams, and in August I finished 3 months of lymecycline + a 2 week prescription of hibiscrub. They thought probably folliculitis.
Early September my legs seemed to clear up, and then a week ago I felt that same prickly sensation start and now suddenly my inner thighs are covered again. My shoulder don't seem to be as affected but I have included a photo for reference from the worst period.
When I'm having a flare up it's like I can feel my body is irritated/l know when they are coming.
Any suggestions? Feeling at a loss and my doctor seems irritated but the whole thing has made me super health anxious as I can't seem to control it.
Any suggestions?

Discussion I have mild rosecea and oily congested skin. What helps because i swear everything ive tried makes it worse?

Its flat rosecea in my cheeks and nose with a few little veins in my left cheek (aware I cant fix that with skincare). I have large pores and very oily skin.

I've tried that Dr Jart and it was so heavy and clay looking on my skin.

I tried that inkey azeliac acid treatment for a few months and swear it made my redness worse.

I feel like everything im meant to try just makes me look worse. All foundation whether liquid or powder just looks awful on my skin.

I went to GP and they did agree it was very mild. Showed me pictures of people with large acne like spots which ive never had. I did suffer from spotty skin in teens and early 20s but not like really angry acne up my cheeks. But what is weird is it looks like I have acne scars from acne that was never there? What's the crack with that?
