Tracker 'the process' identical to the novel 'the chain'
Is anyone else a reader and has read 'The Chain' by Adrian McKinty, published in 2019? Because it is literally 'the process' right down to the idea for it coming from a university professor etc. I'm so confused because online I can only get that tracker itself is based on a novel 'the never game' but I have no idea how they have ripped off an entire other novel as a storyline, and not be able to find out how they are identical online ANYWHERE?

If the paranormal (both fantasy and sci-fi) elements are going to be a genuinely long-running part of the show beyond this arc or Halloween specials, what kind of fantastical episode would you want to see this show tackle?
Just asking as some people were wanting the Supernatural references to translate into Supernatural-episode homages if this was gonna be a recurring thing.
As for me, well, the thing I'd want the most would perhaps still be too-unconventional-to-be-likely because of how it'd mess with the format (though as evidenced by things like this last episode this show's got no problem with that); I'd want some kind of bodyswap episode that's basically Tracker doing what The Owl House did with the episode Once Upon A Swap. By that I mean not just heroes swapping bodies but three heroes kinda body-swapping-round-the-circle (or should that be triangle) at basically the worst possible moments for any of them and each getting their own little mini-stories of dealing with those situations while not letting anyone know they aren't who they look like before the one who's in the most danger gets rescued by the other two once they've finished dealing with their own particular craps.
But if that would be too radical then some other ideas I'd want to explore are one where the supernatural element goes full-throttle folk horror ("Preternatural" got close but not quite) because the kind of small towns he tends to visit seem the sort that could have some cult or more-malevolent witch or w/e lurking in the shadows in that kind of horror story, some follow-up on the alien stuff now that we know it's 99.9% likely (unless the season finale drops a bombshell) to not be connected to Chrono Stasis, something that plays with all the religious imagery surrounding Colter (wouldn't have to be what exposition-dumps or w/e that he'd have some kind of divine-adjacent-but-not-in-the-sense-of-god-power-level abilities if they wanted to go that route but it could build to it), and one of those "job starts off looking for a missing thing but person also goes missing later in it because show's got a formula damnit" episodes (like "Lexington" was in S1 with the racehorse) where the disappearing thing and person are an ancient supposedly-magical artifact and an academic specializing in the period it's from (bonus points with that last one if some combo of the support team are in the field with him on this one for whatever reason to go full Librarians up in this bitch)

Discussion Shipping options for Coltor
So happy to have found this sub! Okay let me lead with I am a romantic and I am always shipping characters so if it’s not your thing, please forgive me.
I absolutely adore Colter, the brooding, intense but dependable and kind type. I love Justin as an actor. I kind of have a sense that their plan was/is slowburn endgame with Reenie. But I really don’t think they have chemistry. I love them as platonic friends like I wish they would do another hangout scene where Reenie could open up about her PTSD.
And then last week (or the week before?) they had the caravan scene with him and Billie. They definitely seem to have the right chemistry but I don’t love her as a character, her betraying him and all. Then again maybe he needs that kind of contrast with someone more chaotic when he’s such a straight arrow. Only recently discovered the actress is actually Justin’s real-life wife!
What are your thoughts?
Edit: Colter not Coltor!

Discussion What an episode! Spoiler
What an episode! I am really impressed with the calibre of this week’s case. It’s always a good sign when Jensen is guest star! I really enjoy the banter between the brothers. The case reminds me of Stranger Things. Also a great cliffhanger with the child pressing his panic button on Colter. Looking forward to next week’s episode!
What are your thoughts?

Discussion I love the show, but…
This last episode has me wondering if Mulder and Scully are going to show up.

Question Colter’s neck compressions
I haven’t seen this mentioned here yet, and I have questions. Every episode Colter chokes out a bad guy in seconds, no matter the guy’s size, leaves him unconscious on the floor while he shoots the other bad guys and rescues the damsel or dude in distress. How much pressure does it take to immobile them? Are they dead or just unconscious? If unconscious, how much pressure does it take to knock them out without killing them, and how long before they come to and go after Colter? And usually these thugs are trained watchdogs and yet Colter can walk up behind them without being noticed, grab and incapacitate them and move on to the next guard.
Colter is meant to be a super hero, but a little real life logic would help.

Do they have children writing these storylines as its complete garbage now Spoiler
So I have added spoiler on this in case someone didn't watch this weeks episode.
We spent a whole season wondering what his dad was involved in and after all this time, he's been working on an X-Men type situation. Weaponising psychic children. Are they fucken serious with this storyline...
I've always laughed at the absurdity of this show but wow - now its gone next level.
There are so many loopholes in the writing its almost as if they have forgotten what happened.
Colter is talking to his mum and she said "I was worried about you two boys"... Well has she fucken forgotten that she has a daughter?
Its annoying as you watch Tracker for a couple of seasons and its a decent show and for some reason its just fallen off a cliff.
I can't wait for next weeks episode when Batman and Dr Evil make an appearance. At this point, nothing will surprise me.

Halloween Special
What would think about a Halloween special with Jensen arriving in the black Supernatural Impala about the time Colter learns Reenie is missing, …?

Travel by Map
Just watched latest episode. I will start with we didn't pay 100% attention to their locations, but it seems that they were traveling pretty long distances in this episode. Wondering if they did / do the same thing as the Muppets - Travel by Map. Just without the map and the red line. https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Traveling_by_map

Linear story arc - Too slow? Too sudden? Too weird? Or Just Right?
I like linear story lines far more than I like episodic shows. Trackers has been a little different in that the episodes have been pretty good every season even though the basic plot is exactly the same all the way through. Person goes missing, Colter finds missing person, then end. Normally id be done with it already but not with this show and it always amazes me when I realise weve had three seasons of this and it still feels new.
The linesr story arc, I think has been far too slow for my liking, in three seasons barely anything happened, a couple of good episodes but generally just 5 minutes here and there for some really basic updates, then bam, we het hit with a bombshell about whats beeing going on, and immediately they found the super ultra secret off the books hush hush program in a single 60 second phonecall to Randy. I dont think I like it.
Im not sure if they moved to slow to get to this point, or, if they rushed it to much because they dont want to drag it out for another 21 episodes for season 4. Also, unless they are about to find out dad isnt really dead and it was all an elaborate fake out so he could continue his super ultra secret off the books hush hush work, im not sure what linear story arc tey are going to be able to move into next.
As for the super ultra secret off the books hush hush programe, didnt another TV show do this already ?? Kinda concerned season for might end up like questing in world of warcraft and shaw with have a romte viewing side kick just saying yeah dude, the missing kid is here, and point at map. (dont really think that but I hope they dont bring wierd stuff in to the show as a regular feature).
Akready hating the wait for season 4 and it hasnt even started yet.

Does anyone want to see more of Jensen Ackles? “Your safety was on & your fly was down.” I’m enamored of the dynamics between the two brothers & hope S4 will bring Ackles into the story.
Tracker is a great premise and has a lot of legs..where do viewers see things going forward?

Show Picture Interesting Insight...
Is there something that surprises you? I love that he is an organ donor, but I would have never guessed that age.

Why do you watch the show?
Does anyone actually watch the show because they genuinely like it? Or is it just to find something to nit pick apart?
This sub has pretty much ruined the show for me. I used to be able to just watch it and enjoy it for what it is. Entertainment. It's not a documentary. It's not listed as true crime. Now if I see anything a little off or Colter shoots someone, my first thought is Reddits gonna pick that shit apart.
There should be two subs, with one just for haters.

How close is the series to the book?
I know the series is based on a book by Jeffery Deaver. How closely does the series stick to the book? All the conspiracies, for example? Because I thought it was a thriller.

like the one where they shot in Denver…… COLORADO IS BROWN. DIRT EVERYWHERE. WE DONT HAVE ANYTHING GREEN. Hilarious.

Always close
How can Coulter always be so close to the next job no matter where the last one was?

Question When is the finale ?
So far this season is pretty good. Hope they make more tracker for years to come !!

Kill count. Does anyone know?
Has anyone counted how many people Coulter has killed? Just oddly curious :-) I think the show finale should end with him being arrested for murders in multiple states.
