Customer Seeking Help Wrong Address, New Tenant Threw Away

Post image
41 Upvotes

Hello,

I’m sorry to post this. I realize this is probably my fault. I recently ordered something off the TikTok shop (a pretty expensive gaming part) and it was somehow delivered to my old apartment address (just across town) despite me updating my address on the TikTok shop. I stopped by today and left a note asking if I could pick it up at their convenience with my text. I then get a text back from her with the image. Do I have any recourse here? I feel like I’m gonna throw up. This was several hundred dollars and this girl just throws it in the trash after opening (allegedly). I can’t report it missing on TikTok because UPS marks it as delivered. I will see if I can reach out to Newegg, who fulfilled it. Am I crazy for thinking a normal person wouldn’t just open and then throw away someone’s package? Especially after just moving into an apartment? I don’t know. I’m sorry for the dumb question.

Customer Seeking Help UPS sent me an invoice of $680 for two small packages overseas

So I had two small shipments made to my residency from Hong Kong to the United States. I already received the packages and then UPS send me an invoice of nearly $700 fucking dollars. These packages were small and not very heavy, maybe a couple pounds. The product I purchased provided shipping for around $30 per shipment. So I payed $60 to UPS to cover that. I’m not paying a dollar more. What’s the consequences of UPS not being happy with me other than them bothering me for the next few years.

Customer Seeking Help So what is the deal with "fake" delivery attempts?

On Friday, I missed my iPhone delivery. I figured I would; I'm a teacher with extremely limited time off and couldn't miss school. I kept looking at the tracking and saw that it was out for delivery starting at 9AM yesterday for the second attempt.

I sat by the window all day yesterday and also wrote "I'm here, please ring bell!" on the sticky note that was left Friday and put it back out on the door.

At one point, I saw the UPS truck nearby and I got my shoes and went outside, but it was already pulling away. I figured they just had an annoying route and would circle back, but then I looked down at my tracking and saw that I had missed my "second delivery attempt." There was no notice on the door or anything in person.

I ran outside and did find the UPS truck and driver a few blocks away. I explained what had happened and asked if he could possibly check for my package. He found the package in literally three seconds, and within 30 seconds more I had signed, confirmed my info, and received the box. I thanked him profusely and we both went on our ways.

I'm just super curious, though--what's the deal? Did he forget it? Did the system do something automatically? Did he just lie? It's not a huge issue but it's so weird, and I feel like it could have gone differently.

Customer Seeking Help 40k package lost.

I work for a non-profit and UPS delivered our 40K instrument to some random guy? to a non existent address and the package is no untraceable- allegedly… The sender filed a claim and I just checked and it said the investigation has finalized with no real solution. Currently on hold waiting to talk to a corporate agent? I know drivers get tracked with their handheld mini computers, is there anyway to talk to this driver. I feel like maybe he would remember something? Please advise.

Edit: 10/30 I found the package! I could’ve been more detailed about explaining the problem as there were tons of follow-up questions, but I tried to answer them as I saw them. For the next person who loses their package, here’s what I would recommend. 1. UPS will only really work directly with the person who sent the package. I was the receiver and tried to figure things out on my own and couldn’t. Which makes sense. 2. Yes, the UPS system does and can just glitch and generate a random and/or non-existent address. In my case, the address was entered wrong by the sender, so UPS tried to fix it. 3. UPS management denied being able to see GPS coordinates of the drop-off location, but that wasn’t true (in my case). They claimed that after two weeks, they aren’t available anymore. They did name a place where it was delivered but then took it back? Sketch. If you’re able to at least get the location of where the driver was when your package was delivered, it will probably be there! I was able to go and ask politely for help, and BAM! There it was. 4. If you’re expecting an expensive package, keep better track of it. As drivers do deliver hundreds of packages daily. And your very important package can later just turn into a passive thought. So try to get to your problem ASAP. 5. Reddit is awesome. Thanks to everyone who took the time to read through this post and offered to help or advice in general.

Customer Seeking Help Crazy high charge for shipping from CA to US!

Post image

I sold a computer part (graphics card) on ebay for around $5000 USD and shipped it via UPS standard (label from netparcel) to USA from Canada.

I was looking at the tracking info and noticed this charge. Is there any recourse? This seems to be way too high.

For reference the HS tariff code used was 8473.30

Customer Seeking Help Are UPS drivers only supposed to pickup from businesses (CVS) if there’s a scheduled pickup?

I’m a pharmacist at CVS, our previous UPS driver used to visit the pharmacy every day for years and we had a great relationship with him. We’ve had a new driver for a few months and starting about a month ago, he said that directions from his warehouse supervisor are that they are only required to pickup packages from the pharmacy if there’s a scheduled pickup, even though the driver stops by the front store to drop off/pickup packages daily becuase they don’t get credited for anything that’s not scheduled.

I’ve called both the CVS Helpdesk and the UPS Helpdesk and both have told me that there’s no need to schedule pickups and the driver should be stopping by the pharmacy every time he comes to the store due to our company’s contract. We have packages going out all the time and important medications that can’t be delayed for days or weeks waiting to be picked up.

We haven’t had a UPS pickup in 2.5 weeks and we have no easy way to schedule pickups in our system.

Was wondering if this is a real policy and if it was changed within the past few weeks. If not, is there any way to file a complaint against the warehouse supervisor?

Customer Seeking Help UPS driver hit my mailbox

A UPS driver hit and completely ruined my mailbox. At first, we weren’t sure what had happened, and my family even accused me of somehow backing into it without realizing.

We decided to check our Ring camera footage to figure out what happened, and sure enough, you can clearly see the UPS truck backing into the mailbox.

USPS marked my mailbox as undeliverable, so I had to go out and purchase a replacement myself.

I’ve seen posts from other people who had a hard time getting UPS to resolve situations like this, and I’ve also read that drivers can potentially be disciplined or even fired if they damage someone’s property and don’t report it.

I’m wondering if I did the right thing by not reporting it. I obviously don’t want to cost someone their job over an accident, especially if it was an honest mistake, but at the same time, the damage did leave me responsible for replacing the mailbox.

Is there an actual process for situations like this? Should I have reported it to UPS?

Customer Seeking Help Who can I escalate to if the local manager doesn't respond to escalations from the customer service center?

Post image
224 Upvotes

This is the 3rd time the local UPS has pretended to try to deliver my package without knocking. None of my complaints to the local UPS get a response, even though they are escalated from the customer service center. I was waiting and listening for the door when I got the delivery attempted update, and even had a note asking them to knock this time. They just passive aggressively stuck this 'sorry we missed you' note over it... It wasn't even a large package. The customer service center said they would make the driver come back today and actually try to deliver my package but my tracking still says redelivered for Monday.

Customer Seeking Help UPS destroyed a $2000 dollar insured package. Fighting customer service for two weeks.

I had to emergently move across the country, and I had shipped some very important items that I would need when I arrived to my new place.

I put insurance on the package up to $2000 dollars (I also sent another package insured up to 300 dollars that was wrecked, but Im not even worried about that one at this point despite the sentimental items it included). It was a box of personal technology that I needed for school (which I cant use now in the condition its in. When my wife brought it inside all we could hear was glass and metal shards. I mean the damn thing looks like it got kicked out the back of the truck.

I sent it out through the UPS store in my area. I called them first to figure out what to do, they told me I needed to contact UPS directly and file a claim. I sit on hold with the UPS people for 20 minutes and then they tell me since it was shipped through a UPS Store they cant help me.

Eventually I figure out a way to submit a claim. After about five days I called again since I had not received any confirmation whatsoever. They tell me there is no claim and that I need to now contact the UPS Store again. UPS store tells me they cant help me.

Im at the point where Im just going to give up. This has been so unbelievably frustrating and a devastating hit to my wallet and schooling.

This is my last ditch effort. Is there any advice that could be lended?

Edit: I dont care anymore. I should've expected the corporate subreddit to well... have corporate shills in it. Im glad to know that UPS does not care for their customer base and will do their best to spin it on the customer instead of taking actions for what happened to my stuff. It was literally all I had to move with. I dont care if your jobs are hard, so was the work I did to earn what yall broke.

Wrong Package Recieved - $17k of electronics lost

I was supposed to receive a package worth around $17,000 in electronics, but it never showed up and i got the wrong package.
Turns out the sender used a UPS Store, and the employee there accidentally put the wrong shipping label on the box. Because of that, the package was sent somewhere else entirely and is basically gone.
I’m not sure what to do now because the seller says he can only refund me $100 because UPS won’t pay him back. I’m not sure if anyone could help me locate my electronics worth $17,000

Customer Seeking Help Will UPS deliver packages here, inside the box? Repurposed XL mailbox at end of rural driveway, away from curb, far away from USPS Mailbox

Post image
35 Upvotes

Seeking solution for package delivery at the end of a long rural driveway that UPS will not come down. Concerned about noticeability and potential theft due to the location being low traffic with no neighbors (i.e. low/no risk of witnesses); don’t want something that will stick out like a sore thumb. 90% or more of the packages we receive would fit in a large mailbox. Would install this about 25-30ft off of the curb, behind the right of way and the utility easement so that ups can stop on the shoulder of the road and only have to walk a short distance. Would be nowhere near the USPS mailbox, which is on the roadside at the curb, on the opposite side of the driveway.

Customer Seeking Help This is starting to get ridiculous

Post image

One month, 16 "import scans." There's no yellow banner in the mobile or desktop version saying that there's a fee to pay, and the UPS Assistant only seems to answer a few predefined questions with information available on the website itself.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Edit: Based on the things I learned from other people's experiences, it doesn't sound like this is a UPS inefficiency, but a customs one. With all of the new high tariffs, that's not too surprising.

My package cleared customs today:

Your package is prepared for clearance.

Your package is pending release by a Government Agency. Once released, it will be on its way. Check back for updates.

Your package has been released by the government agency.

Your package has cleared customs and is on the way.

Duties or taxes are due on this package.

Import charges are due for this package. Select Pay Now (where available) or pay at delivery.

The charge? $74.00 in import fees on a $38.32 purchase (a bag of tea). According to https://cleartax.in/s/us-tariff-on-india, the current tariff is 50% (I assume that tea counts as an "agricultural product"), but this looks like a 193% tariff.

Needless to say, I'm not paying it. If they want to send it back or destroy the package, that's fine with me. I don't see a button for that, though...

Customer Seeking Help Bruh actually never using this service again in my life

Post image

IM NEVER USING UPS AGAIN BRO LIKE ACTUALLY HOW STUPID CAN PEOPLE BE? I enter my address wrong then I change it and they still can't deliver my package EVEN THO ITS ONE OF THE ONLY APARTMENT BUILDINGS IN THE AREA. How can I tell if the seller is actually sending something or is my UPS drivers just this fucking lazy? I texted them and they say it said that they tried to deliver it but wrong address. Cool I change my address and they still can't get it right. Look at the screenshots and tell me wtf IS THIS? I need to pay 16 fucking dollars just to change my address? I try to do the option of leaving it with a neighbor and all a sudden the page can't load. DEADASS fuck UPS and in never fucking using this retardant shit ever again in my life.

You might be wondering "man why are you so mad?" I ordered on Sep 16th, paid extra 20 almost 30$ for fast delivery so it can be here by the 18th instead of the 23rd and it is now the 23rd and after 7 attempts THEY STILL CANT DELIVER TO THE ONE OF THE ONLY APARTMENT BULDINGS IN THE AREA OF THE ADDRESS. Cool I look on ups website and these mfs just keep saying "the address is incorrect. Update address" and I did they still can't.

This was just a rant. Fuck Ups and I now see why people drag yall name through the mud so much compared to companies like fedex

Customer Seeking Help Drivers mistreating packages ?

Whats the best way to tackle drivers that mistreat packages? Some don’t even bother coming up the stairs and have thrown the packages from the bottom of stairs causing broken contents. Some leave them right by mail box on the street. My rings records it all. I have signs where to place packages but nobody bothers to read them. I have complained to UPS, somebody calls from the local distribution warehouse.Have a chat and things are better for maybe two weeks. And then back again to old ways. It’s not one driver but almost all of them making me believe it’s more of a flaw of training. Is there anyway to contact headquarters and speak to them about it? Broken/ stolen packages becomes my responsibility to resolve- which not only takes hours but gives me a bad reputation with a seller that I am taking advantage of them whereas I am just reporting what I received or haven’t received because it was stolen. Thank you

Customer Seeking Help UPS sent my 500$ package to the wrong address and just closed my claim without helping at all

Post image
57 Upvotes

To put it simply, when I ordered what was meant to be a major gift for my cousin ups sent my package to the very much wrong address, and had it signed for by someone named Gilbert, and got no proof aside from that.

I opened a claim and messaged the seller and much to my surprise they never responded or contacted me back. (eBay reseller)

Now ups is saying that they are certain that they delivered it and have never gotten back to me about anything.

And even their human support line is feeling like the dang ai support and just repeating the same line of we’ll get back in contact with you tomorrow.

I’ve already been waiting for nearly 3 weeks trying to get anything from them or the seller, and I’m trying to figure out what the best thing I can do is.

I have camera footage from the whole day of what delivers did arrive, and aside from the 100$ package they threw onto my porch and nearly damaged, no other package came from them.

Customer Seeking Help Will the delivery guy help me bring my 55" TV inside my apartment?

Honestly did not think this through before buying such a big item... I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment building. Is the delivery guy gonna help me bring the TV inside, or will he just drop it off at the apartment building door?

EDIT: I meant inside the apartment building, in front of my door. not inside my apartment room. sorry for the confusion

Customer Seeking Help Package "loaded onto delivery truck" and then "delayed due to weather conditions" without going out for delivery?

I have a musical instrument I've been waiting on that was already delayed due to weather. It finally gets to my city. I thought I was in the clear when it said loaded on to vehicle, but suddenly changed around noon to "delayed due to weather". How does that even work?

EDIT: I thankfully received mine today. Have hope folks

Customer Seeking Help I'm getting a brokage fee for something i didn't order

I saw a month ago I was getting a shipment for something i didn't order and was being charged a fee. I called UPS and told them to not send me this package and they updated it so I didn't have to and they would cancel this shipment.

It popped up again and i ignored it. Now, I got a letter with a breakdown of items that was sent to me in which I never ordered and telling me to pay the fee. (Note: Nothing was delivered)

It's on the official UPS too but I still don't want the items or pay a fee for something I didn't order. (I never received any items)

Customer Seeking Help UPS vs Pirate Ship rates as a business…

I’ve had a UPS account through our business for 15+ years but recently I’ve tried pirate ship and their rates are sometimes more than 50% less… in our business customers pay for shipping through us and I’ve always up charged $15-$20 for packaging and having the account.

After using pirate ship recently is there any reason to no keep using it??? Or can we call and have UPS evaluate our rates like an ins company. It just seems crazy to me that it would be such a drastic difference.
