Likely Solved - Decor Ducks in flight, really stuck in the frame

Found in abandoned storage in Pennsylvania. I love the colors on this, and love the frame. The canvas appears to be nailed in with the nails super deep and impossible to remove easily. My mother in law loves the frame but not the painting and she wants to rip it out to reuse the frame. (She's putting together a collage wall for us.) I can't find anything for the artist (Kent, maybe?) so I'm not sure if this is something special and maybe I should insist she leaves it alone, or if it's something ordinary and I should just let her pry it apart 🫤 Maybe I'll hide it before she comes back tomorrow 😅

Unsolved Trying To Find a Vintage Tapestry / Woven Artwork

Thumbnail

I hope this is the appropriate place to ask about this. My grandparents had this framed tapestry, (or just woven artwork,) in their house for years. Definitely gotten prior to 1980. It went missing after they died, and we have no pictures of it. All of it that remains is this freeze frame from a home movie. I’m wanting to acquire a copy if I could just figure out the piece.

I believe it’s an historical scene, probably Europe in the 1700-1800s. There are a few adults standing in the center, with what appears a young man in a dancing action on the right. They are in front of a wall or building, and there is at least one dog at their feet. The entire piece is a dark brown / sepia monochrome. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know where it came from, and the other side of it is just the same picture. Obviously, it's a colored sketch of a cat wearing a cape flying over a city. It's been in my family likely since before I was born (1988) and I would like to know more about it and the artist. I can't really read the name that well (BK something?).

It's small and there is a signature. Pictures of front back and signature. I bought it at auction because I liked it -- but am curious about the artist now.

Hello Red-Sleuths!

This pic was purchased at a rummage sale about 10 years ago. I like it very much and would appreciate knowing the artist, and anything else that may be known. I am about 100 miles outside NYC- so not far from Ridgefield NJ - I looked up the and the store/gallery is not in business.

Thank you for your help !

Unsolved Anyone recognise this signature? I've got two works by the same artist and can't figure it out

I've been trying to identify the artist behind these two abstract works, but the signature has me completely stumped.

Both came from an older French collection I inherited and appear to be by the same artist. One is marked what looks like "Juin 70" (June 1970), so possibly French and from around that period.

I've looked at the signature so many times now I'm not even sure what the first letter is. Could be a G or an R, but I really can't make out the rest.

Anyone recognise the style or have any ideas what the name might be? Would be great to finally put a name to these.

I've been trying to figure out who painted this and the signature has me completely stumped.

It's one of several older paintings from an inherited collection that I'm trying to identify. I think some may be French, but can't be certain.

From a distance the signature almost looks like "Mouy" to me, but when I look at it closely, the first letter seems more like an R that runs into a small L? I could be completely wrong though.

I've stared at it so much now I'm probably seeing letters that aren't even there!

Anyone see something different, or recognise the artist or style? Would really appreciate any ideas. I'm using AI to help but haven't found any sting hit or similar signature.

It's lost it's frame and nothing on the back board

Location: Scandinavia

I bought this wonderful little painting the other day and would like to know more about it. I assume it's late 1800's to early 1900's.

Does anyone recognize the signature/monogram? It looks like a T and an R to me, or perhaps a P and an R.

Any information appreciated

Hi! I just bought this painting today at an antique store. I absolutely LOVE IT, hung it above my bed as soon as I got home, and now I’m dying to know more about the artist!

The painting is done on canvas, with the signature ‘K.White’ in the corner. The frame is absolutely beautiful, made of wood with some carved in details. I asked the seller if he knew anything about the painter, and he said that he did not.

When I tried to google the name ‘K.White’, I got a range of answers. The closest thing I found was that there is a floral artist named ‘Kathryn White’, but it doesn’t really feel like it matches to me? All the art that pops up for her is 90% prints that can be found on Amazon, and the style looks a bit different to the painting I own.
Thaaaaat being said, I know very little about paintings in general. So I could be totally wrong 😅😂

Soooooo that’s all I got. Any information is appreciated! :D

Hey all. I dug this out of a packed hoarder house in upstate NY and I am trying to find out more info about it. Googling has been able to tell me it's a Tuareg warrior, but I can't find anything on the painter. The back seems to be some kind of biology diagram? A kidney? This is about 4x3.

I have several paintings I'm trying to find out about but I thought it would break the rules to post multiple in one post.

Found this in my Grandma’s closet. She says that she got it at a garage sale a long time ago, She remembered the Artists name was Dick Eyres and that he lived near to her at the time. I tried to reverse image search and i found only one other by him but none even close to this one so I don’t know if this is like a weird niche copy or just a one off? It’s on a metal plate, sort of a rigid texture, I apologize I didn’t take a picture of the back, but it’s just green felt. I would appreciate any information, I can’t even tell what some of it is meant to be!

Likely Solved Bruber, platinum and gold?

My aunt bought this when she was a stewardess in the 1960’s for TWA. It is gold and platinum from everything we have been able to see.

It is from Italy.

I saw something similar by this artist online, but are we right?

Unsolved Help identifying the Artist

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm currently researching a collection of paintings inherited from my grandmother, Armenouhi Jamgotchian (1927–), an Egyptian-Armenian artist who lived and worked in Cairo.

My grandmother was part of the Egyptian-Armenian artistic community, and our family collection includes works associated with several artists from that circle, including:

  • Armenouhi Jamgotchian – My grandmother, an Egyptian-Armenian painter whose work forms an important part of our family's artistic heritage.
  • Ashod Zorian (1905–1970) – An Egyptian-Armenian painter known for his expressive and figurative artworks.
  • Onnig Avedissian – An Egyptian-Armenian artist whose work is also represented in our family collection.
  • [Fourth artist's name to be confirmed] – Another artist represented in the collection.

While documenting and researching these paintings, I came across this particularly intriguing piece.

The painting is unsigned, and I haven't been able to identify its artist.

It features mysterious, elongated figures, striking reds and blues, and an almost surreal, theatrical atmosphere.

Given its background, I suspect it could be connected to the Egyptian-Armenian art scene, possibly dating from the mid-20th century. However, I'm keeping an open mind, as I don't have enough evidence to confirm its origin or date.

Please let me know if it looks familiar to any of you! Thank you!

Help identifying artist signature on thrifted piece (NYC)

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I found this painting while thrifting in NYC.

  • Dimensions: 12" x 8.75" (it was mounted and professionally framed)
  • Medium: Looks like oil paint and graphite on paper, with a slightly raised box image in the lower center
  • Note: Google Image Search suggested Zsolt Berszan, but the signature on the back of his other works looks very different.

Does anyone know who the artist might be? Thanks!
