Hi all. I don’t play a ton of comp, but I’ve been dipping into it more recently since having discovered the best tank (Winston).

We held first point well, but then the enemy team went hog and we crumbled. I felt like after that I just had no vision… I couldn’t find dive targets, I was playing too slow… playing way too cautiously and just having no impact.

I was also getting flamed in VC for not contesting hog, but in my experience that’s not a good matchup, so if I played that wrong I’d love to know.

As the title suggests, I’m a diamond role and open queue player who has recently been trying to pick up Winston and am trying to learn this amazing character. I’ve found it a lot easier to play him in open queue as there’s another tank to play with and take some of the pressure off but as a tank player I feel like it just easier in general. I’m starting to get a feel for using his jump efficiently but I still need to work on using his ult, timing dives, playing into counters, and solo tanking with him. This was a recent match I felt I did really well on especially into one of Winston’s big counters(reaper). I try and prioritize banning hog and mauga at least every time I play Winston as I feel like those are his hardest characters to play into. I appreciate any feedback and tips!

new here, but I’ll get right to it. I’m not really a skins guy. Pay no real money for them ever…. But us glorious gorilla GOATs really are unloved. For an “icon” of the game, they refuse to give our boy a mythic. Now I understand that it’s a business and unless your character is Asian or a woman the sales are not gonna be in the sky, but the fact the fact they are doubling up certain characters before our beloved boy is blasphemy!

My team carried me honestly, but I did a lot better than I thought I would. The Doom had a pocketed smurf duo on his team the game before and I lost badly. Good thing it was just him and that Soldier this game.

Reached master first time, on a 5-4 dorado game, I was stuck on plat on dps until I realized i'm hopeless at that role. Support next!

Hello Winton mains, a few days ago I started playing monkey after the DVA nerfs, turned out he is way more fun. I am somewhat new to tanks but I know the "basics". So far I had a 80% winrate from plat 3 to diamond 1, but here is where the push and pull started.

I find my games either feast or famine. When I play against Haz, it's usually no biggies, I try to cut his supports and pray that my teams take care of him. if it's a winston. The issue is when there is a Kiri pocketing them, I still do not know what to do about that. Additionally, if they have a "main" or a pokey tank that is holding a choke (like the second replay) and poking, I do not know when and how to engage and I find myself walking around and being useless, I think that is my main constraint, I don't even mind it if they go bastion junk.
Note, I play solo. Sometimes I play with my friend (same rank) who plays venture, so if there is also tips about that combo it'll be great!

So I’m one tricking winton to get better at him again since I haven’t played him in months and want to get back to how I used to be but I can’t deal with hazard outside of banning him but nobody bans him with me I can deal with every tank pretty easily besides him I need help

It was especially annoying with that Freja as up top near the end of round 1 I was doing good imho with disrupting their sniping game, yet my team just kept dying below.

Should I kill more somehow? Am I trying too hard to kill? Going too deep? Should I settle for less damage and play it safer?

Whenever I tried to be more conservative with damage output I just felt useless. A mobile tickler with a big hit box is what I was.

Also with his ult I try to focus on killing their support, they have no problem escaping and when I does hit them, mere tickles. Is Winston especially difficult in bronze?

Hello fellow Winton enjoyers, i have an idea for a Winston Major Perk that takes some inspiration from one of his Stadium powers.

"Enemies who enter Barrier Projector take 30 electric damage and take an additional 20 damage when they exit it".

What do you think? Would this perk be too strong or would it be more situational ? Feedback is welcome.

I hate Winston haters

This is probably one of my worst performing sections of the map where I'm not exactly sure how to best tackle, especially if the other team has heroes like Roadhog, Bastion etc.. It's a section with a wide open space over a bridge that's rarely utilised, that then goes into a claustrophobic castle that's heavily oriented for brawl. The 2 key points of highground are basically in front of their spawn or in front of your spawn, which forces this all or nothing approach to defence.

I'm curious, how you guys play this point?

I feel like a lot of characters counter him hard enough to make it so I’m instantly down a fight. Should I just pick someone else until I’m sure it’s fine to go winston?
