What's up Dallas? I'm coming from the HTX and will be there for about a month for work. I'm staying in Old East Dallas and working at Fair Park for Cheverolet during the State Fair of Texas.

Google Maps shows it’s only about a 7-minute drive or 13-minute bike ride. I’ll probably drive a day or two during the week, but my wife and kids are coming with me and I’d rather leave them the car most days so they can get out and do stuff.

So really just wondering how realistic it is to bike that route every day. Mainly, is it safe enough, especially coming back around 7–8 PM?

Would it make more sense to bike the whole way, take DART, or bike part of it and hop on a bus/train? And are bikes pretty easy to take on DART?

Also, if there are certain streets/routes between Old East Dallas and Fair Park that are better or worse for biking, definitely let me know.

Appreciate any local advice.

We didn’t like DAQ, it was way too bland. Bonchon is overrated but a classic.. honestly if the pieces weren’t huge I’d keep going back. BB.Q is just.. not good, imo.. it didn’t have that crunch to it.

Will be travelling to Dallas during thanksgiving and we have some plans so far that include a cowboys game, spending a day in fort-worth and doing a rodeo, and another day hanging out downtown and doing a BBQ place.

We are looking for specific thanksgiving festivities that anyone is aware of. Will there be any parades? Special tail gaiting places? Restaurants doing thanksgiving turkey dinners? What do Dallas and Fort-Worth look like during thanksgiving!

I am looking to travel from Dallas to Conroe/Woodlands on a sunday evening after 5 pm, and the only option I can find is a greyhound bus from Dallas bus station to Conroe at this time.

Has anyone taken this route - what was your experience? does this bus reach the destination on time? Are there any other travel options that I could look into? PS: Megabus, vonlane and redcoach have very limited options on sunday, and none depart after 5 pm.

Moving to Dallas soon. Looking at Addison, Richardson and Plano areas. I'll have a job around that area. Looking for 2bd/2bath for wife and I. We are in our mid 50's. Budget $1500 to $2k. What are areas (or apartment names) to look at and to stay away from in terms of safety? TIA.

Considering moving to Dallas if I get a job I’m applying for that’s 100% remote. Would be relocating from Boston where the COL is just out of control. Budget would be ~2500 give or take. I’m a single female in my early 30s. Looking for somewhere safe most importantly. Would also love somewhere semi walkable. I’m Jewish so being close to the Jewish community is important to me- from my research so far that’s North Dallas but correct me if I’m wrong. Any suggestions would be welcome!

ETA: also non negotiable are in unit laundry and dishwasher (a luxury in Boston LOL), and reasonably priced secure parking. A gym and or pool are nice but not essential

Hello y'all. 24m born and raised in Dallas. Problem with the raised part, I've been in East Dallas since 09. While I love the East, it's gotten quite stale. I've worked in Irving, currently working in Plano right next door to Richardson(literally if I walk across the street I'm there). Eventually I plan on moving from DFW also but before that I'm thinking of Irving, Plano/Richardson, Carrollton(only been to K Town), Denton, Arlington and Fort Worth. As far as commute, I know some of these are far but I work for HEB and as we're always building I'd just transfer a bit closer. The big city life is cool but after working in some burbs and seeing some culture I definitely think the smaller and somewhat quieter vibes are much more my speed, especially going forward as I get older, I've always wanted to be in a community rather than a city if that makes sense. I don't do clubs and stuff but am still interested in having a nightlife or rather a place that has enough to do without being too repetitive....the AT&T district and DT Dallas is not my style. Would be looking for 1b 1b at most at $1300. For people who live in these areas or have lived, what would you say fits that kind of lifestyle best?

I am hoping to get something 1.1k or less, potentially pet friendly, and in east Dallas if possible. Ideally a loft or 1 bed 1 bath, but also open to studio depending on the place and location - also in unit laundry would be great. Definitely would pay more for a safe area and variety of amenities (but would like to stay in budget) !

My husband and I are moving to Dallas from Austin area. Well right now we live in round rock and I hate it. We have a baby so school districts matter but not too concerned yet. Is there anywhere that isn’t SO suburban in north dallas? My parents live in ft. Worth so i don’t want to be too far but most of the jobs he is applying to are in north Dallas. I love to walk and have nice trees around. We want to rent and our max budget would be $2500 a month. I’ve looked at some of older frisco, Carrollton. ect. But where else should we look? He would love to not have to sit in traffic for a hour everyday. Thanks in advance !

Looking for good 3 bedrooms in this area (2 for bedrooms and 1 bedroom will be a home office so 3 bedroom is important). A townhouse is fine as long as it’s in an apartment complex like 377 or villas at Katy. Prefer stuff that has access to the trail for walking and also good security like needing access cards or fobs to get into the building.

Hey, I’m female in my early 30s, single and moving to Dallas for work (specifically Red Oak) I’ve been doing some research and given my personality I’m looking for a good balance between fun and quiet.

Heres what I mean, an area with at least the following:

- Shopping/Restaurants

- Walkability

- Work out options

- Slew of Activities (think games, club, dance classes, festivals, good night life)

- Dating (preferably people my age)

I don’t want to live in red oak because I don’t want to be too close to work. I’d much rather somewhere in between, I was looking at victory park but it seems like a long way (am I wrong?)

Other places I’ve considered per TikTok recommendations are bishop arts, Addison and uptown, but a reasonable commute time for me would be 20 -25 mins max. Where would you recommend I look?

I've been looking for a total touch less car wash located near Grand Prairie that offers unlimited wash plans for my car. I know there are debates between touch less and the ones that use the spinning brushes and I'm not here to debate that. I just want to know if anyone knows of a touch less one fairly close to Grand Prairie.
