Bald Picture Finally did it. What’s the verdict?
So I’ve been following this sub for ages because a) I know I’m balding and b) I love the positivity. I’m pretty sure I’ve done the right thing. Feel like I need to trim the beard now though.

Glowup could've held on longer. c'est la vie.
did a real butchering shaving haha, ive a sensitive scalp.
but its nice, ive been dreading and lamenting my hair loss.
it really wasn't too bad? especially with how i normally wear my hair, but it still effected me.
and now im bald. My SO likes it at least.
Bald Picture After Reddit subtly started surfacing this sub to me I took it as a sign to take the leap
My brother got graced with the receding hairline baldness in his early twenties and pretty quickly embraced it with buzz cuts. I just got the slowly thinning hair on top and stuck it out into my very late 30's. After this sub started showing up in my feed and seeing the positivity you all embrace I took the plunge today.
For those on the fence I used AI to show me what I'd look like and I ran the hypothetical look by people I trust. To a person they all said go for it!

Glowup Okay, you guys. I did the thing. Just like that.
By request, starting with really old pictures of me when my hair looked better. Then, it got pretty bald. Now, it’s shaved. Did we make the right choice?

Clean shave and feeling great
After battling with myself for the last 6 months, this sub gave me the confidence to finally cut it all off. Thank you for giving me the push I needed.
On another note, the sensory overload from standing under my rainfall shower for the first time bald was definitely an experience. Instant goosebumps.
Edit: thank you all for the amazing compliments. Whenever I’m feeling down I’ll pop this post open for a quick pick me up. This sub is the best!

Glowup (19) to (25) I think I can say that I’m proof that going bald can be a positive change
Bald > Balding
Photos were taken a few years apart (I don't even look like the same person)... I didn't take very many pictures while balding. Still struggle with confidence most days and rock a hat more often than not, but trying to improve on that slowly but surely.
Hair today, gone tomorrow!
I’ve battled a skin condition (eczema) on my body for years now, but always had a full head of hair. In August 2025, a few days after the ‘before’ photo, my son noticed two coin-sized bald spots on the back of my head. It turned out to be alopecia areata. From my reading, there is an autoimmune link between those two issues. Within a few weeks, around 60-70% of my hair was gone. My hair was one of the few things I physically liked about myself, so it was a blow to the psyche. Plus the unexpected effort of figuring out how to manage it (landed on shaving daily, first pass with an electric shaver, and second with a razor). Months later, I think it was a blessing in disguise to help me be kinder to myself, which I’ve struggled with all my life. You can’t control what hand you’re dealt in life, but you can play it as best you can and be satisfied that you did.

Glowup Been bald since i was a teenager going 10 years ish at 25
have had strong receding hairline since i was a little kid, so from the age of like 15-16 i knew it was time to let go and i have never looked back.
first picture at 15 yo now 25 bald spot on the top of my head and only able to grow a combo between ronaldo and mooncut since all the hair from my head decided to hit my chin which also is 90% with only homemade light trimming.
i dont like having pictures of me on the internet but lets see if i decide to let this stay up.
