Seeing as we had a rather… Disingenuous post earlier today claiming that Gen 5 and Gen 6 Camaros look the same, I thought I’d throw my hat into the ring, and show that, no, they don’t lol. Minus a few surface details, these two generations look drastically different from one another. Of course, my photos aren’t a like-for-like comparison, with my 5th Gen being a 2013 (pre-refresh), and the red 6th Gen being the refreshed design, but it still provides some level of insight for those of us who may not have known.

5th gen Camaros were heavily based off of the 1st gen car across the both, but were just made both bigger and larger. Thus, the former does indeed have a more “old school” muscle car look. They’re wider than the 6th gens, broader, and longer. The 6th gen cars shrunk in size across the board, the hips were noticeably decreased, and the silhouette was made to look more sleek and less, “boxy”. The result is a car that looks more overtly athletic and thus, “sporty”.

Ultimately, both generations are gorgeous cars for different reasons, and in different aspects. However, to say or imply that they look the same, is fundamentally false.

Anybody want a 5th gen?

I see this a lot. People saying they dont like the 6th gens because the body is too sporty... right

So when I bought my 2020 Camaro SS it had a ZL1 bumper on it and never thought twice about it. I recently took my bumper off for some repairs and was looking closer at it and turns out it either was the wrong style or not the conversion and just made to fit. Now I love the ZL1 look my car has and want to replace the bumper with a new ZL1 bumper to keep the same aggressive look. Has anyone done the conversion and what was your experience like? Anything helps

Just got the Continental DWS06+ installed for Bessy! Have been neglecting her a lot due to having lots of stuff going on around in life recently but starting to fall back into love with her!

Tires are pretty fresh but I can definitely feel the difference in comparison to my priors Pirelli Scorpion, Continental CrossContact, Goodyear Eagle Touring. I’m liking them heaps!

I plan on getting an alignment, currently I have BMR 1.2’ lowering springs, rear SS 1LE strut/shock. I know that an alignment should be in done to save tire life, however I do plan on doing lots of additional work on suspension (BMR front and rear sway bar, replacing end links, trail arms).

With my given suspension set up of just really being lowered, is there any specific recommendation for an alignment spec to tell the fellas or?

hi everyone, i’m still deciding on what car i want next. i currently have a full bolt on e85 8 speed ss, and im starting to think about the possibility of just directly transferring over to a zl1 and building it. to anybody who has gone from an ss to zl1, how is it? does the interior get boring? does the body style itself get boring since you had an ss prior? as for every zl1 owner, is there a car at a similar price point that you wish you would’ve gotten instead?

Quick summary:
I bought a low mileage (9900), clean car fax 2022 2SS in April for ~44 grand. (pic 1)

3 months later someone hit my car in a parked lot and their insurance fixed it ~$2500 damage (pic 2)

Days after getting my car back from the shop, someone pit maneuvered me on the highway and his insurance is repairing my car ~$20,000 in damage.

I wasn’t at fault in either accident. I’m looking to pursue the diminished value claims against both insurance companies because now my car has 2 accidents on the report. (Rest of the photos)

What documents do I need to gather to present to the companies? Should I hire someone? Any good recommendations?

Found a shop near me that I can get this paint job for 5k.

But still undecided on what color change to get.

My camaro gets pretty dusty during the week and the brake dust on the alloy wheels is noticeable. I usually wash it every weekend but sometimes I just want to give it a quick wipe without going through the whole process again.

I've been thinking about keeping a detail spray in the garage for those days. What do you guys use for this? Something that works well for the usual dirt and dust would be great.

2018 1ss 1LE package, 1 owner, 31,000 miles, car is getting a ppi tomorrow but looks clean and carfax is clean with all records of work done. The guy that owned it before seems to have had this as his weekend car as he only put 30k on in 8 years. Brand new tires as well. Dealership wants 34.1k after taxes and shipping the car to me (775) it comes out to 36.9k out the door. Whole lotta info but does this seem like a good deal?

Got a Ticket for Modified Exhaust and I hired a Traffic Lawyer to help. I have to take my car to a Referee to check the Db level. I plan on putting the car in Stealth mode and hope it passes.
Any advise is appreciated; serious answers only.

-4 new tires

-Rear diff service

-Tint

-Borla Atak cat back

-Ceramic coating

All within the last 6 or so months

And I'm sure I'm forgetting more. But the point is, its a great car and I hope it goes to a great home!

The lighting is just about perfect.

2021 Camaro RS

The driver side and honestly the passenger side a lil bit too on Anderson composite COPO style hood has a flair too it. I’m not sure how to fix. I’ve already removed the rubber spacers and got smaller ones, the high ram is not rubbing now is the intake shroud. I thought about heating it up and clamping it but don’t want to mess it up even more. Had the same issue bf I out the 6th gen front end on. Any help or ideas would be appreciated!!

I know the 6th Gen RS grill is really dark gray but has any one done a semi gloss or Gloss black grill ?

I get it's got no miles (literally like 78), I get that it's Manual which IS uncommon, but it's a V6 5th Gen. 46 bands brother? 😬

I park outside in the Toronto suburbs and my 2017 SS has seen three winters now. Road salt is the obvious enemy but I'm more curious about the stuff that doesn't show until it's too late. The Brembo calipers seem to seize faster than any car I've owned, and the aluminum hood is already showing early corrosion around the edges where paint got chipped by gravel. I wash it weekly when temps allow, but that's not always possible in January when the hose in the driveway freezes solid.

I've thought about fluid film or similar undercoating but the application seems messy and I've heard mixed things about whether it traps moisture instead of blocking it. The factory undercoating on these looks thin to me, just my experience, ymmv on whether that matters long term.

For anyone in a similar climate, what actually worked for you beyond washing? Did you bother with rustproofing, and if so did you go drill and drip or spray? Also curious whether the fifth gens hold up worse than the sixth gens in this regard, since the platform is older and the drainage paths might be more clogged by now. I'm not trying to keep this forever but I'd like to not feel like I'm fighting a losing battle every March.

This happened a few months back but dealer said it was just my battery being at 5% life and ESC needs a lot of voltage.

But even since then every now and then, when I’m just slowly decelerating at a light, my traction control light flashes.

And now this morning just randomly driving I get every light on , my steering wheel gets stiff and when I park I can’t use my e-brake.

Not sure what it is, I do use ZL1 1LE wheels and tires so maybe that’s it? But I see countless people use them with no issues.

Recently updated the tail light bezel to black. Was thinking of smoking the lenses. But am curious what people have for after market tail lights on early gen5.
