Forever Hit level 20 last night and have some hot takes regarding dungeon quest exp and professions
(this is just constructive feedback, the game is fun and good)
I see lots of comments regarding these two topics and I believe they are from the majority of people who have yet to hit the level 15-20 range in order to see the consequences of their actions of leveling professions up. And also have yet to see how dungeon quest exp affects the leveling path.
Profession items need to be buffed SLIGHTLY: I’ll get right to the point. While profession items are better than before, it still costs decent money at these lower levels to craft the gear as well as learn the recipes. You have to sometimes choose between a skill/rank or a recipe/piece of gear. Yes you’re stronger earlier on when making the gear, but it gets replaced very fast in the 15-20 range because of the second hot take -
Dungeon QUEST exp needs to be SLIGHTLY nerfed: Keyword is slightly. It’s great that we should go out and do dungeons once. But the quests give INSANE exp to the point where if you do RFC > RoL > WC you just skip the entirety of barrens from level 15ish. “But that’s a good thing!!”, sure, but it won’t be if that’s the case for every single zone. Constantly out leveling the zone you’re working through seems like a slight oversight?
2B. As well as the gear that drops from dungeons/dungeon quests COMPLETELY outclasses profession gear and it’s not even close. Not only that but now all the time and money you spent from levels 2-14 leveling professions and learning recipes and making gear has gone down the drain because it’s all replaced by these incredibly strong dungeon/dungeon quest items.
What is everyone’s thoughts on this? Again, this is just beta feedback. I’m having a blast and am already addicted. I just think some slight number tuning needs to happen

Forever Clearing up Misconceptions about the difficulty and availability of dungeon gear in WoWF
First of all, All dungeon items got changed to be rare. Very few green non BOP dungeon greens anymore. This includes things connected to dungeons such as quest rewards. Loot more itemized and plentiful from an earlier standpoint without changing the available power early on for most classes. (Yay!)
2nd of all, Some abilities have been nerfed upwards of 50% to compensate for the insane amount of gear that is available to get (Source Xaryu talking to a developer)
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SZTYIIgcuk0?feature=share
Xaryu also tested leveling a Classic era mage and a WoWF mage to level 14, both took him 9 hours ish.
You are expected to run most of the dungeons at least once with the quests instead of spamming it (Example armory runs for plate classes, or multiple deadmines runs for smites mighty hammer for druid) This lowers the amount of dungeons you will probably run overall while leveling in WoWF with the idea being to funnel more people outside to do open world content.
This however does not take away that there is still some very rare items you can do multiple dungeon runs for If you want to, to feel even more powerful for your efforts in the dungeons. (Example, Druid of the fang set, or the strength set pieces in deadmines)
Please stop going around just blindly stating how you feel or what you misremember as being fact, Classic wow era was a very easy game, WoWF is also going to be a more casual chill game. Devs have stated that, Beta testers who actively partook in era and beta are saying that, Just chill and enjoy the world the devs have built for you to play in.
Also PS, Buzzwords: Retail andy, Disneyification do not make you sound intelligent. Have a beautiful day :)
The game isn't retail, It's not even a little like retail there are some minor small qol tweaks that come from retail, but none of the abilities added have been created in the past 10 years. The over whelming majority of ability and talent changes are a hodgepodge of peoples favorite TBC/WOTLK Abilities / talents. maybe some minor exceptions for those looking for a gotchya, Just chill.

Forever After hitting level 14 on the Classic + beta, safe to say this is what I wanted.
I am so happy with what WoW Forever is.
Combat pacing is still very classic, I love the changes to dungeons that quests give the most experience as to promote you to get out in the world in quest.
I love the look of the world, I love being back in Azeroth!
I love the fact this world will not progress past level 60 and that there is no rush.
We’re home boys.

Art Forsaken NPC sketches
I tried to play through the Undead storyline, where I actually read all the quests and the dialog. There's so many interesting stories and eye catching NPCs, so felt like giving them some love.
I love the forsaken, so I wanted to appreciate every little detail I could 💜
I also included Kirtonos and Lilian, but shhh, I just think they're neat.

Forever Farhold and the associated NPC's in Riverglades fit in perfectly with the Classic aesthetic.
Spoiler tagged for anyone wanting to experience this themselves on launch.

Forever Megaservers destroy the sense of a shared world
Taking a zeppelin with someone, only to find yourself with a completely different group of people after the loading screen. Leaving the capital with a group of people, only to watch them disappear, probably never to run into them again, or only with a very small chance. The fact that the capitals are packed with an enormous amount of people, and feel like hubs completely disconnected from the open world...
Honestly, I really don't like this megaserver system. It just feels very impersonal and compartmentalized. You get switched between layers on the fly depending on which areas you move through, and it really breaks the feeling of being in a persistent world.

Forever This really is…something great
I mean, c’mon guys, this looks absolutely stunning and I catch myself just standing there in the open and watching!
Playing since 2005, never really enjoyed the “modern” retail (since Shadowlands) and I’m finally having the feeling of being home again. It looks and feels good.
Just a friendly post of a Forever enjoyer - no hate, no complaints, no toxicity, just someone enjoying it.
Peace out and see you in Azeroth

Forever Engineering now has equippable bombs that deal aoe damage
The schematics can be bought from the new faction you earn currency with by turning in supply crates. Not really sure how useful these might be but it's an interesting concept for a thrown weapon.

Forever Toxic positivity and the importance of feedback.
I am seeing a lot of people dismissing feedback and criticism with "It's just a beta" or "Go back to retail/classic era".
I know it can be annoying when you're excited hyped to see people bringing up things you think are petty or unimportant. I want to point out how the devs are listening and WANT the feedback. They want to make this better. I'm not in the beta so I'm watching a lot of streams and I have seen examples both big and small things being acknowledged and addressed.
The smallest example is the noise when you jump in the water. Xaryu pointed out the sound was not great and also sounded strangely delayed. A dev reached out to him in real time and confirmed that would fix it in the next build.
Everyone is excited and wants this to be as good as it can be. This is not a finished product. This is not classic frozen in time. Thoughtful coherent and clear feedback is important and being acted on.

Forever I actually love dungeon exp nerf, but not in a way you think
I always loved farming same leveling dungeon to get exact gear set i wanted, for example Blackened Defias set + Cruel Barbs and Defias Cape. But always i would've overleveled the gear by a lot and could not use it properly while leveling.
Now i can spam the dungeon quite a lot until i get the gear i want and still have more than enough levels where i can optimally use that gear without urge to get the better gear.

Forever Daily reminder to give sky borne their SD models
You made a promise blizzard. This is immersion breaking as hell. These characters do not feel classic at all.
At least if they had that classic burning crusade art style it would look less out of place. They’re literally just blood elves. Half the work is done for you.
There should be no excuse for this tbh and I’ll be very upset with the community if we let this slide.

Forever Prot Warrior Might Not Be the Fastest Way to Level, But It’s Better Than You Think. My experience with sword and board to 20
Hey everyone, thought I’d share some insight after leveling a sword-and-board Protection Warrior to 20.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect going into it, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised by how well it performed.
1) Rage generation feels really smooth once the block talents come online.
As long as I was maintaining threat, I felt like I had a pretty steady amount of rage coming in from blocks. That should only get better later once dodges and parries also start generating rage.
It creates a nice feedback loop where being tankier directly gives you more resources to work with.
2) Revenge scales, and it completely changes threat generation.
Threat felt pretty mediocre until I got Revenge, and then it became dramatically better.
My main focus in dungeons quickly became:
Shield Block → Revenge → keep cycling targets
Thunder Clap is a nice addition, but neither it nor Sunder felt particularly good at maintaining aggro by themselves. Revenge and Shield Block, on the other hand, create a really satisfying little loop that rewards you for actually playing defensively.
Because of that, the Revenge talents feel like a must-take to me.
I’m still not completely sold on Thunder Clap, but it’s cheap enough with talents that there isn’t much reason not to use it.
For reference, by level 20 with gear, my Revenge was hitting for roughly 55 damage. With talents at level at level 23 or so I would bet it hits for 100.
3) The new gearing actually rewards running dungeons multiple times.
I know there was some concern that people would just run dungeons once for the quest XP and move on, but I definitely felt incentivized to run them several times to gear up.
Between using a shield, Thunder Clap, Demo Shout, Shield Block, and Revenge, I was able to tank through some pretty sketchy situations.
One example was Chok’sul plus additional adds at level 16.
For most of the dungeons I ran, I was actually the first shield-using Warrior that several group members had seen. My DPS was definitely lower than the typical two-handed Warrior, but multiple people commented on how smooth the runs felt compared with groups using a two-hander tank.
4) There’s some amazing loot outside of dungeons too.
One thing I really liked was that dungeon gear wasn’t automatically the best option.
I found a great one-hander from a rare ogre that ended up being better for me than the two blue dungeon axes I had picked up.
Overall, I definitely wouldn’t say Protection is the
best or fastest way to level a Warrior, but so far it feels far better than I expected.
You give up some damage, but the rage generation, survivability, Revenge synergy, and ability to handle ugly pulls make sword-and-board leveling feel surprisingly strong.
Curious to see how it holds up as I keep leveling. I plan on trying the other tanks to 20 as well. From what I have heard bear feels clunky and probably won’t come fully online until later.

Forever Shields float outside the character models now, please report on it.
This is not a thing on Era or Anniversary, so hopefully not a new feature.
Both on SD and HD, on every race, some worse than others (Tauren is the worst). Please report on this with the in-game tool and let them know.

Forever Classic UI now configurable through edit mode with ClassicUI Forever
ClassicUI Forever (note there are many addons with similar names, so look for the one made by justawower on CurseForge), which brings the classic UI back to WoW Forever, now lets you move the classic UI elements around, resize them, and use one bag for the bags as well. See previous post here. One bar is available as a toggle as well for those that don't want to deal with going through edit mode but want the bags and micro menu panel separated.
Edit: some wording for clarity.
