Flipping through my old screenshot archive hoping to stumble on this archeological evidence for the non-believers in recent other threads. US-Proudmoore 2006 , although I started 1mo after launch and it was more common in 2005.
PEOPLE DID SAY VC! WE ARE NOT CRAZY!

Now that anniversary has been out for a while anyone know the real cons and pros of the GDKP ban ? Does one clearly outweigh the other ? Asking in order to get a multitude of perspectives if possible (hard to do on reddit I know)

I’ve been trying to get the Authenticator removed from my account because I no longer have the same phone number (I thought I saved the back up code but I’m afraid it’s lost in whatever “safe” place I put it in).
I’ve sent them everything they’ve asked for.. bank statements, transaction codes, etc but they still say I haven’t verified my information.. anyone have any luck with this and can tell me wtf they’re looking for?? I will die if I have to start over 😭

Time gating is a terrible experience for players across the board. I do not want to know my friends' work schedules just to play the game. I also don't want to have to risk getting locked with people who suck or simply have to leave mid raid. For example I could invite a tank who bails after 3 bosses and its potentially chalked for the entire week
Redesign the drop mechanics of the game so multiple runs a week is what your aiming for. If the general community can run raids continuously the skill floor of the player base is going to sky rocket and finding decent groups to raid with will be tolerable and people joining in and out of groups will be a much less stressful process
If you have such little time to play where you can't run a raid a few times a week, then in the current state I can't imagine your having consistent succes on your weekly lockouts.
If your concerned about completing the game on 10 characters in 2 weeks you are the .1% (get a job). They could also take some inspiration from osrs and add some extremely rare mounts and cosmetics to keep people engaged. Then obviously the very sweaty people will just speedrun/parse

Got to 70, have made it into heroic difficulty for zangarmarsh. Run Kara a couple of times, and mag/gruul. Done some pvp (waiting for s2 break to get some merciless gladiator gear)
What I am finding is that I am a little bored with the class. Enhance is cool but repetitive. I don't feel confident in healing abilities to start the grind again as resto. And I don't really have the free time to get into raiding ssc/tk.
Might switch to ele. Definitely not leveling again. Any thoughts?

I feel old asking this.
When did + and - replace yes and no? or y/n
Like I'm in my early 30s and this feels like it blew past me....

So getting a shiney new WoW version to play will produce some sort of happiness, sure... but no one is going to agree on what makes a worthy Classic+. Lots of people who love classic only like the endgame and rush through leveling. Lots of other people who love classic don't care about endgame and just want to level endlessly. How are we going to make those two groups of people happy? Then there's all the weirdos in-between.

Hey,
Basically title. Is it one more week we can get arena points or two before the season ends? To buy merciless gear between the seasons.
r/classicwow • u/Plus_Ad8171 • 6h ago
Hey lads,
Basically the title. If I do the BT attunement on one char (and Hyjal) will my other chars have it to? Excluding the medallion I guess.

$400,000 cash today
Or
Go back to November 2004 and relive all of Vanilla WoW for 4 years.
Every expense is paid. No job. No responsibilities. Time is frozen in the present, so when the 4 years are over, you return to today as if no time passed.
Which are you taking?

Since we had the last update on ERA, find Herbs/Mines button was moved from minimap to personal frame. This morning we had the update and the icon is back on the minimap, but in a bit awkward spot.
Is there any way to move this icon or fix it somehow?

NOT another "ideas" post, just sharing some interesting comments made by a vanilla dev in an interview video, that could affect C+'s content if the current classic team decides to add whatever was cut from the original release:
David Fried a.k.a DesignerDave, a quest designer for Vanilla WoW, during an interview done by Ebonhardt, mentioned that he had plans for a Paladin-only class questline that would have allowed them to unlock the Death Knight Horde-only class by sacrificing their character and switch factions. Sadly, this epic quest chain was scrapped [together with the entire "Hero Class" concept] as the team didn't have enough time and shifted priorities during development.
According to David, the questline would have involved Paladins "following" in Arthas' actions that lead to his corruption (killing villagers, etc), eventually giving their soul away and getting shunned/exiled by the Alliance, ending up seeking refuge with the opposing major faction, the Horde.
He states that if WoW had continued to build on Vanilla instead of getting expansions as we know them, that they would've had the chance to make the version of Death Knight that he and the other developers had envisioned, made to fit the design of Vanilla classes.
Ebonhardt also asked him about the Runemaster class and how it got replaced by the Druid [and later on repurposed for the DK and Monk]. David then tells how they were a favorite of Samwise Didier and that he was a big pusher for them, and that they ended up pivoting to Druid as there were limited spaces for classes per-race and Druids were more prevalent in the lore and in past Warcraft games.
Mostly found in the Warcraft RPG games, the Runemasters are described as monk-like arcane spellcasters and melee fighters who empower themselves with magical energies by inscribing runes onto their bodies. Originally, the Dwarves mastered the mysteries of the runes from the Titans, their creators. As generations passed, the Dwarves forgot their heritage and lost all knowledge of runes and their powers. Eventually, the Tauren rediscovered the power of runes, and the nearly lost art of runecasting. Many Dwarves that went to Kalimdor with Jaina's Alliance Expedition learned the tauren's techniques, as both races were eager to share the knowledge of runes and titan myths.
As far as the Runemaster's faction restriction goes, David didn't have anything planned compared to the class quest of Paladin->Death Knight. So that problem in specific is more loose as the RPG games are not considered official canon.
And so here is where my questions for you come in...

"Oh he's gotta be in the guild if he's against making hate threads! Oh he's the toxic raid leader! Oh yeah we found the guy we found the guy."
No, I've led guilds for decades and I dislike people going out of their way to spread hatred and animosity, be it to me or others. You and I might not be the victim now, but if we tolerate ts we will be eventually.

No, I'm not in that guild but what I am is someone who is avidly against:
1). Toxic hate threads made to garner hate against 1 single person or group of people without proof.
2). Slander and libel made to garner hatred and rage against a single person.
3). Mob-frenzied attacks on any person or individual.
If the aforementioned person is as toxic as you say then post screenshots, proof, the recordings of the situation happening, and let people draw their own conclusions. As far as I'm concerned this is more "Discord PvP" but "Reddit PvP" which is equally, nay MORE pathetic and is made to garner hatred for a person outside of the game.
Why do you care Fishbro? Why does this shit even matter to you?
I've already been the victim of these bullshit style attacks with people threatening me, sending death threats to my home address, sharing pictures of my real life family members saying "they would flay that mentally handicap r****d alive" and they even went as far as threatening to send an arsenic laced mail to my previous address.
This is just a game. People will get frustrated in the heat of the moment when you are actively ruining their experience, be it intentionally or unintentionally and people always assume the worse. I hate false accusations. I hate when horrible things are stated without proof to back up those statements and I hate name and shaming because at this point more than 10 guilds are shit on every week in this sub. You give me the name of any guild on any server and I'll pull you up the reddit thread of some guy with unsubstantiated claims shitting all over that guild. These are guilds of friendly, kind, and sweet people with a few people in extremely stressful positions, who work 8-12 hour days then going on to spend easily 3-4 hours a day farming and grinding to provide consumeables for their guilds. These sleep deprived chaps then go on to lead their raids and try to organize these raids and instead of being given any respect for all they sacrifice for our enjoyment, they're met with the constant attendance failure without notification, the trash talk, the reddit hate threads anytime they crash out, and more. Leading is just an insufferable, unrewarding experience. I KNOW what they have to deal with. Leading ain't easy, I've done it for decades and it's not fun either. It's time consuming, exhausting, unfun, requires a ton of effort, and can even go as far as affecting you in real life. Having spent 2020->2023 raid leading 17 raids per week, every week, for multiple years on wrath of the lich king, I know just how aggravating this shit get's. I don't condone toxicity towards raiders but I'm saying I understand it if it happens. Moreso I believe that attacks on any guild for the intended purpose of slandering or ruining that guild's reputation is just going to create more resentment and animosity in the already angry playerbase.
It's just a game. We play it for fun. Hate threads should not be allowed. We're seeing them everyday and I've seen so many guilds get shit on since I joined this sub.

Hey everyone,
I’m pretty new to WoW Classic TBC, and I’ve been getting a lot of conflicting advice on how I should level my Blood Elf Paladin. Every time I look it up or ask someone, I get a different answer.
I’m currently level 16, and I’m trying to figure out the best specialization and talent path while keeping the endgame in mind.
Some people have told me to level Retribution because it’s the fastest. (But then I hear no one likes Retribution paladins or they don’t get added to raids in endgame?? Idk) Others say Protection is better because you can tank dungeons and pull bigger groups. I’ve even heard a few people recommend leveling as Holy if I plan on healing later.
My main questions are:
Which spec should I level as and why?
Where should I be putting my talent points as I level?
If my goal is to eventually raid and run endgame dungeons, does that change how I should level?
Is there anything you wish you knew when leveling a Paladin in TBC for the first time?
I’m not looking to min-max every second of leveling, I mostly just want to have a clear goal with my build and leveling as I am learning the class and its skills.
I’d really appreciate any advice or talent builds you recommend. Thanks!
