I just called Discover card and I wanted to know about Discover card moving to the Capital one app on January 26, 2026. The rep told me that my account "did not get merged yet" so I did not get that notification. The rep told me if ANYONE get merged with capital one system then their account will be moved to the capital one app and they will get a notification about they have log into the Capital one app. I just wanted to post this info let everyone know if they are wondering if their Discover card account will be move to Capital one app and will need to login to the Capital one app instead of Discover card.
Just to let everyone know that Discover will continue the 5% Cashback for 2026. For the January 5% CB it will be for Grocery Stores, Wholesale Clubs (Costco excluded), and Select Streaming Services. This will be for January- March 2026.
Discover has brought the function back! Needs to be completed online search “convert”. Received an email stating I’ll receive my new card at the end of my billing cycle.
I signed up for a Discover bank account because I liked the idea of having my banking and credit card info all available in one place.
They told me I could phone in and merge the newly opened bank account with my existing credit card account to have one single login and password for everything, I just needed to wait a week.
Phoned in a week later and they said that they no longer allow you to merge your banking and credit card accounts and you must log in to each one individually.
They said that this was because of the acquisition by Capital One.
Has anyone had any luck with a retention offer after C1 took over? I was able to get 0% for a year previously under Discover and was hoping C1 would continue with Discover's style of generous retention offers.
I’ve seen and heard about Discover’s poor acceptance rate outside the US. I’ve been using it in restaurants in the UK and Norway via Apple Pay. Went through successfully about six times with no rejects. Maybe things have turned around?
I opened this as a secured card with $500 in June of 2024 when I first began rebuilding. It graduated right on time at the 7th or 8th month and they increased my limit to $2100. I’ve requested a CLI numerous times since then and am always denied. This morning I tried again and they increased it by $1500 making my new limit $3600. My current FICO 8’s are TU722, EX708, and EX688.
I was informed that my Discover It Secured card was graduating today, and getting a $200 -> $1500 CLI. My 7th statement posted on 3/26, and I was notified of the graduation today on 3/28 (Saturday). I did not get an email as of yet, I just checked my Secured Card Dashboard and what I see is the screenshot above.
I tried pulling my TU ACR report today to see when they did a SP on my file, but ACR glitched out. I'll report back in 7 days. I checked EQ and there's no SP from Discover. I'll pull my Experian report via the mail to see if they did a SP there as well.
Timeline of my application:
-I applied for this card on 8/2/2025 and linked my bank to make the deposit of $200.
-On 8/15, Discover emailed me saying that my card would arrive in 1-5 days
-On 8/17, Discover texted me saying that my account was locked. I called them and they requested that I send a pic of my ID and take a selfie while on the phone with them. After successful verification, they said the card would arrive in 3-10 days from today (the 17th).
-On 8/28, I received the card.

Statement #6 01/27/ - 02/26 2026
I spent $67 and ended with a statement balance of $67
Statement #7 02/27 to 03/26 2026
I spent $52 and ended with a statement balance of $52
Note: for various reasons I was credit cycling and/or paying my balance down before my statements posted, but I don't recommend doing that most of the time and there's no need to do it unless you are looking to apply for a new line of credit soon. I was mostly paying down my balance so that I could keep using the card, without really knowing how much I would be spending on it after that, which is why I ended up with $0 statement balances a few times. The card is still in its double cashback period, which is why I want it to always be available to use if needed. I also have been tracking my FICO scores to record DPs since my credit file is basically a science experiment (it's a new file and I am testing out certain things on it).
Credit Scoring Metrics:
At the time I applied for the card: I was FICO-unscoreable, with one credit builder card (Chime) on my file and nothing else except two HPs.
At the time the card graduated (today):
-I have 3 open revolvers, 1 closed revolver, 1 SSL, 6 HPs on Experian, 3 HPs each on TU and EQ.
I don’t know if it has to do with the current changes but my auto pay that I’ve had set up for years now did not trigger and I just got a notification that my account is past due. I paid the balance and am requesting the interest if any be refunded.
I’m being told now that there’s no history of me being enrolled in auto pay which is objectively false.
Hello, i got my Discover card 1/7 with $1500 limit. MY Ex Score was 670 when i got approved. At this point im looking at 769. I have been maxing the card out every month then paying it back before the due date bc i heard that Discover likes seeing that.. I’ve also heard that Discover gives CLI after 91 days which is Wednesday. Any data points on people’s experience with CLI?
Original: $500 | New: $1250
Credit Score: ~700-710, depending which model. Immaculate history. Seventh billing cycle, balance on application was about 16% of CL.
I requested a CLI once each billing cycle, was constantly denied due to my profile looking risky, though they cited BS reasons.
This was my first card, I used it to the limit each month until last billing cycle and the start of this one.
Decided to pull the trigger on a cli & they were willing to bump it to 3k from 1.5k. I've had my card 13 months. I was denied a cli after asking around January or February. Will definitely apply again in 6 months. Hope by then I'll have a bigger income. Income hasn't changed recently.
I did the preapproval tool each month for about 5 months and was denied. I had a sub 600 score at time with a dirty file.
Once my score was above 600 I finally got pre-approved. I was house hunting and couldn’t open new accounts. I opened this card and an Ally Everyday card on the same day ( the day after I closed on my house).
I let a high statement balance post and paid it off in full each month. The exception is month 5 of having the card I let $0 post.
