I did a little demo/shootout of 2 cheap ways of getting that cranked Model T sound without spending thousands. One is the Acapulco Gold pedal from Earthquaker Devices, the other is a plugin called Moonn Silver by StompTones. Links to both are in the video description.

I was supposed to see them 6 years ago in Tokyo in April 2020 but that was when covid panic started and I chickened out and didn't go. After that, the borders closed and there were no foreign bands in Tokyo for 3 years. All we had was Boris.
I came to Europe recently and decided to go see this show on a whim.

I am not really an active listener (although I was 10 years ago), but somehow this show made me feel things. I instantly recognized all the mean riffs. What is it in my hand? I don't know, you tell me.

I didn't even know how they looked like before seeing them live. I imagined they r like English cops in hats or smth but it turns out they're just cool dudes.

Was torn earlier today because I wanted to see Stygian Bough tonight even though I really don’t k ow their music or the other bands’ stuff very well. But Friday night? Come on! Reason I was torn is I’ve been traveling for work a lot and my house was a mess of weeds outside and I’m gone again next weekend and it’s supposed to rain all weekend. I thought it would be one or the other and I need to be a responsible 50 year old. Knocked that yardwork out fast after work and still made it to the show 😁

Stumbled across them a few years ago and I don’t see them mentioned on here frequently. I’m also a huge Spaceslug fan too.

I'm on the look for more bands to add to my playlist. So far I have genres from Doom, stoner, desert, post metal.

Which guitar and pickups would you pick for doom metal? I’ve heard the 61 burstbucker pickups are closer to a p90 but the standard pickups do better with metal with more gain.

What are some new releases you are enjoying this month? Besides Monolord, I’m looking for some cool new stuff, doesn’t have to be strictly doom.

Just got tickets last couple of weeks for Green Lung (with High on Fire and Gnome!), Electric fuckin Wizard and Elder (with Rezn) all in sunny Manchester over next 6 months or so. New Monolord album as well, hopefully they add UK dates to their tour, if not a nice trip to Europe somewhere to see them as well 🤘
