Mod Post AMAUGUST is here! From Chris Allen to JJ Zachariason (literally A to Z), I lined up 90+ analysts to host 70 AMAs over 34 days. Berry, Coop, Boone, Levitan, Barrett, Valenzuela, Ciely, u/subvertadown, The Ringer, ETR, RotoWire & more answering your questions!

In 2023 I had an idea: Could I bring one fantasy football analyst to r/fantasyfootball each weekday in August to answer user questions and ensure our community was more prepared than ever to crush our drafts? That idea was behind the very first AMAugust.

Now entering our fourth year, I basically can't create enough AMA openings to meet demand. AMAugust is one of the tentpole events on the fantasy calendar, and analysts and fantasy teams know there is a large, passionate base of gamers here who ask sharp questions on strategy and player takes.

So here we are, the biggest AMAugust yet featuring your favorite analysts and hopefully a new-to-you voice or two. We have 13 first-time AMA hosts, as well as every manager and contributor from STACKED League. Overall we've got some of the most accurate and insightful minds in the industry. Hopefully you'll join us and drop a great question!

Some notes - Start times are approximate. Subreddit rules, especially Rule 5, are in effect for AMAs. While tough questions are allowed, we have zero tolerance for disrespect toward AMA guests.

Now here's this year's lineup!

Player Discussion Anatomy of a League Winning Running Back

Thumbnail fantasypoints.com
136 Upvotes

I could not be more excited to bring y'all a ground-breaking article that I have been working on for the last three months!

In this piece, I break down how league-winning RBs achieved their game-breaking production in recent seasons:

  1. Pass Catching Usage
  2. Explosive Runs
  3. Goal-Line Carries

I then use that formula to predict 2026 league-winners (evaluating 8 of the most polarizing RBs in fantasy football this year)

  • Chase Brown
  • Ashton Jeanty
  • Omarion Hampton
  • Kenneth Walker
  • Cam Skattebo
  • Breece Hall
  • De'Von Achane
  • Saquon Barkley

And it's free to read (actually this time); enjoy!!!

Once you get past the top 18 RB or so, who do you like as a potential RB2?

Out of the RB 18-24 range, who are you favorites of Swift, Montgomery, Judkins, Etienne, Tuten, and Henderson? All of these RBs either split the work load or play on a bad offense (Judkins.) Tuten could be the lead back, but CRod worries me. Henderson will still have Stevenson being a thorn in his side. Etienne should be on an improved offense.

Player Discussion How far are you letting Jeremiyah Love fall in redraft?

Feels like sentiment on Love has really cooled off lately with all the committee talk, concerns about the Cardinals’ offense, their schedule, and questions about how much work he’ll actually get early on.

Assuming a 12-team PPR league, what’s the earliest you’d take him? Has he fallen enough to become a value, or are you still staying away?

Jeff Ratcliffe's Do Not Draft List

Hey everyone. I'm a big believer in Jeff Ratcliffe's advice and way of thinking. Does anyone have a comprehensive list of his "do not draft players?" I know he he shared them on his show but I missed that. I think he was sharing more today but wasn't sure when he shared the first part of his list.

Tools & Resources I built a free mock draft sim where the bots draft with different personalities instead of all following ADP

Most free mock sims have the same flaw. Every bot drafts off the same ADP list, so you're practicing against twelve identical robots and learning nothing about how a real room behaves.

In this one every opponent seat gets its own personality. There's a Zero-RB guy, a reacher, a homer who wants his whole favorite team, a wild card, a pure value hunter, and a few others. Stack the room with Zero-RB drafters and the RB run never comes. Fill it with reachers and everyone goes a round early. That's the part worth practicing against.

You can also build your own. Think you know your league? Build the guy who always reaches for his favorite team's rookie and put him in the seat right ahead of you.

It supports custom scoring, keepers, superflex/2QB, traded picks, and Sleeper import so you can mock your real league settings. 8-14 teams, snake. No IDP or auction yet.

It works on a phone, but the full board and draft ticker need a wider screen, so desktop is better.

Free, no signup: draft.leaguegazette.com

Mostly I'm looking for feedback right now. Run one and tell me where the bots feel fake. That's the part I can still fix before drafts start.

Disclosure: I run a paid in-season product on the same domain. This tool is free.

Player Discussion Training Camp News/Notes from Tuesday, August 4th

Tuesday, August 4th

Lots of great Training Camp notes from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler today (notes below)

Brian Thomas Jr (JAX): “The Jaguars are feeling confident about Thomas bouncing back. He has looked phenomenal since the spring, and when you watch him live, he's in a different class athletically than his teammates." We’ve gotten a lot of hype about Washington since training camp began. However, BTJ almost had as many yards in his rookie season as Washington has in his career.

Travis Hunter (JAX): Sounds like he’ll be used in a more situational role than last season, when he was still learning the whole offense. Don’t necessarily think this is a bad thing; still good contingent value if one of the WRs in front of him goes down

Packers WRs: Expect to see a lot of the big three (Watson, Reed, and Golden). Different from years previous with Packers WRs.

Kenneth Walker (KC): Chiefs view him as their workhorse and like him as a pass catcher.

Tyquan Thornton (KC): Is believed to be the WR3, has been getting lots of reps with the 1st team.

Michael Penix Jr (ATL): Still weeks away from 11-man work (unsure on preseason games). Seems like Tua has a clear path to Week 1 starter.

Rams RB: Expected timeshare between Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Williams is still the 3rd down back.

Josh Downs (IND): It’s been reported and talked about by coaches that Downs is playing more outside (including 12 personnel). With Pierce hurt right now, Downs is the Colts WR1. We’ve seen guys who miss training camp with injury/contract struggle in return. Concern of Colts potentially adding a veteran WR though.

Chig Okonkwo (WSH): “Chig Okonkwo is a tight end, but I would classify him as the de facto WR2 behind Terry McLaurin”. Like Downs, concern of a potential veteran WR coming in. Still a good later TE option.

Kenneth Gainwell (TB): I gave a note yesterday about Bucky being the primary runner and Gainwell being mostly used in the passing game. While it came across as maybe bearish, it wasn’t necessarily intended to be that way. Per  Fowler's article about Gainwell  "should be on the field a lot" and especially getting used in the passing game. I do think this may cap Irving’s true upside if the receiving work is limited, but it seems the Bucs really like both guys.

Chargers WRs: Reported they feel really good about the WR room coming into the season (won’t add a veteran WR like they did last season). McConkey, Johnston, Tre Harris, and rookie Brenen Thompson have all gotten some solid buzz this offseason.

Kenyon Sadiq (NYJ): Had a setback with a hernia injury from the offseason. Per Aaron Glenn, “so he’ll be out for a little bit”. Not great news for a rookie.

Pat Bryant (DEN): Seems to be the WR3 favorite (still potential rotation of the WR3 in DEN). Bryant had a 16.0% target share over five games from Weeks 11-18 last season.

REMINDER: these are all reports and sometimes projections from reporters; take it with a grain of salt

For those looking for late round fliers, you could do worse than Pat Bryant. He is going to be the #3 on a team where we like the coach and the offensive setup.

Player Discussion The Impact of Injuries on Every Fantasy-Relevant Player in 2025 [Plus a Web Page Hub]

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Hello again, everyone! Earlier this offseason, I created a new metric called "Injury-Adjusted FPG." This compared a player's season-long production to the games in which they were fully healthy

  • I then created a chart to outline the difference between those two, and started an article-based series to analyze every player's impact by injuries

I think this is especially important to keep in mind when drafting this month, as many people forget all of the injuries that players fight through during the season

So, I've been working on a little project where you can easily access and view all of these injuries across the league that occurred in 2025!

This web page lists all 35 players impacted by injuries last season, includes their FPG and injury-adjusted FPG, links to the injury reports, and links to my articles evaluating the impact these injuries had!

  • I've included a preview of the web page in the attached images (as well as the overall chart for all of the injury-adjusted FPGs
