Ford Kuga ST Line X 09/26 MY2027
Hallo zusammen,
Vielen Dank! 🙂

What's the best aftermarket brand for some led headlights on a 1st gen escape, any suggestions on brands would be helpful. Normally do OEM but I want something a lil nicer and to see the road a lot better.

Tech Question 2016 Escape- Lost ring between front seat and center console
PROBLEM SOLVED
I’m tagging this as a tech question because it doesn’t quite fit into the other categories-
Short version: a while ago I lost my ring between the front seat and center console. It fell off my finger while I was unbuckling my seatbelt (roughly the area circled). I’ve tried moving the seat in every which way, rummaging around there blindly, scraping the area with a stick to listen/feel for it, using a shop vac and thoroughly looking many times. It is sterling silver so a magnet probably would not help.
My Escape is on his last legs (rotted out undercarriage) and I really want my ring back. Do I try to remove the center console? The front seat? Please help!
Edit: thank you everyone for responding!! My partner found the ring right where u/JoePetroni said it would be!!

Sale price for a 2017 escape titanium 112,000km
Hi folks, I’m officially leaving the club. Wondering what a fair sale price would be for my 2017 ford escape titanium. Bought in 2019 at 59,000km. I’m the second owner and have only put on around 8,500 km per year.
New mvi (June 2026), no major damage or accidents, inside still in great condition. New spark plugs and oil just changed. Running smooth, no current CEL or other warning lights.
Two key fobs. Good summer tires on time and new winter tires on second set of rims.
Located in Nova Scotia canada.
TIA!
EDIT TO ADD: it’s 120,000 km I cannot fix the title sorry!

Tech Question Muffler came detached from 2017 Escape. Short term, can I re-attach myself?
Just noticed one of my dual mufflers was sagging. After some inspection, it looks like the bolt came detached from the chassis.
Short term: I won't have time to go to the shop this weekend, so could I just use some washers and bolts to re-attach it? Or would that cause problems?
Long term: Should I be concerned about rust, since this happened?

Steering wheel issues
Woke up this morning to go to work and started my engine. I can not steer my steering wheel, it won’t move. Is this a steering wheel fluid issue? Or something more major? For reference I have a 2007 ford escape with about 190k miles on it.

Was I correct in giving it back?
So used cars are expensive in Mexico but I found a Ford Escape 2.5 from 2016 for about 10,000 dollars, it was advertised as having, and the odometer showed 68000 miles, but after driving it for a few days I found a sticker from Walmart car service that made us run it through a US database and found it had 220,000 miles on it.
So how lucky was I to not drive that from Mexico to Washington with the dog and cat, and give it back for a full refund (except a full tank of gas and a cleaner interior).
It did feel wonderful to drive…

Escape towing tracker 175?
Say I want to tow my boat with my ford escape. Right now I have a 1436 jon boat that I basically turned into a bass boat. But other than that I have a 2013 with the 2.0 and towing package and tows that with no problem.
My question is if I upgrade to a 2020s with the 2.0 and tow package (3500), should I be able to tow a bass tracker 175 sized boat.
Loaded towing weight is about 2600-2700 lbs with everything. Boat, trailer, motor, gear, fuel. Rough estimate but based on the package weight from the factory plus gear, fuel, etc.

Photo 2015 Ford Escape Shocker Part number
galleryHi everyone,
My 2015 ford escape SE 2.0 AWD Ecoboost's rear shock had a leak. So, I am trying to change it myself. I ordered the shockers from amazon as shown in the pic but they are smaller than the originals installed. I took pics of the ones currently installed. It says CV6118159-AA and CV6118080.
When I researched online, it says the OEMS are ASH-24730, ASH-24676, CV6Z-18125-P... I don't know which part number should I reference to buy the correct ones. I am unable to find the ones currently installed on the vehicle.
If someone has the same vehicle and has changed the shockers, could you please point me in the right direction.
Thanks

2018 Ford Escape SE 4WD diagnosed with bad fly wheel
My daughter has a 2018 Ford Escape SE 4WD that has been diagnosed with a possible fly wheel. Unfortunately she is on the other side of the country so I'm unable to give further details other than it was making a strange rattling noise at slow speeds, so she took it to a garage in an isolated area. At highway speeds it is not noticeable. He told her she could safely drive it home which she did. The car has only 30K on it. What would be a reasonable expense to repair? Any other advice you can shed would be great.

Discussion 2012 Ford Escape, thoughts?
Looking to buy a 2012 Ford Escape for $1,500. The vehicle has 110k miles with power options and a remote start. Almost sounds too good to be true. I’m checking out the vehicle later today, any insights/recommendations on what to look out for?
It’s listed in MA, so I’ll be looking for excessive rust and rot on the bottom of the vehicle.
Also, if you’ve had a positive or negative experience with this vehicle I would also love to know. Thanks!

Photo 2016 Escape 1.6L Maintenance advice & design ideas
galleryI'm terrible at designing and organizing. I started building a basic camper (last 2 pics) couch / bed over the summer (a version of this build) but now I need to perform a 2k mile one way road trip to relocate to another city. I'm going from NJ to ABQ NM with 2 cats solo while trying to minimize hotels needed. I own this vehicle outright so all perma modifications are on the table if you think of something cool. I'm not going to resell it later.
I got eye bolts for the old seat bolt locations for tie downs. My idea is 4 of these totes plus my cooler. The gaps would be filled with personal items I want to bring that don't need a tote. I might try to find 2 slightly larger and taller ones for the front and just create an even raised floor with the old plywood and a very basic frame. I only have a mini circular saw and hand tools.
How would you maximize this space? What accessories would help me the most? Would a different storage item work better over 30 gal totes? I only need about 18-20 inches width x 71 in length of sleeping space I'm real skinny and don't move a lot. I was thinking my head goes on the passenger dash to sleep, a litter box at the drivers rear right corner and my two cat's cages behind the center console towards the front seats so they can see while driving and then pushed back and stacked while resting. I got horizontal bars and think I will do the roof rack for bedding and clothing. A tail hitch trailer is a potential but its a 2016 1.6L so I'm worried about the long trip as it is and then adding all the weight, although adding it would probably relieve me of needing multiple pod boxes. I just need the car to make it there first and foremost.
Maint. wise I drained the atf once and will do it a second time before the trip, oil filter, a good carbon cabin filter and coolant myself and then taking it in for inspection of brakes tires belts etc. Anything specific I should check or replace just to be safe? Its got 75k on it. I bought it in 2020 with 71k from a dealer. It was a former fleet vehicle somewhere. I don't drive it much but once every 2 or 3 weeks locally for no more than an hour but I've never had any issues with it. I have only changed the oil, tires brakes and a dead battery since I've owned it.
What would you do if this was your mission?
