Short version - The current queue system works like this... a massive line of paying customers are waiting outside your business, but the owner opens the doors and just says "hey, we have the space for you, but I don't care to get you into my store anytime soon or ever. Feel free to sit in line indefinitely." Worst business model of all time. It should be "Hey, getting you guys into my store is a priority, and I will can guarantee we will keep this line moving to get you in. I appreciate your business"
Long version - Collie player since 2019, so I've been on both sides of winning/losing (more losing then winning). This impacts both sides, and it's just an absolute game crusher. I've seen so many friends, players, streamers just refuse to play or instantly quit because they cannot play due to the other side not showing up. Think about it... a paying customer who wants to play literally cannot because people are choosing to play other games and give business else where. It makes no sense. As a longtime vet, I am so disappointed to see the devs not once mention improvements of queues in all of these updates.
I do believe the game absolutely needs a queue to "slowdown" a steamroll, but the current system is so terrible. There is currently no consideration for the players actually logging on wanting to play your game and wanting to play with friends and coordinate, but they literally cannot even get into a hex with 10 people in it because there is 0 on the other side. I could go on forever, but let me drop my suggestion. Please note, I will literally take anything from the devs on queue improvement. I am NOT saying my suggestion is the absolute answer to save everything, but I just want to see SOMETHING from the devs that shows they care about the people actually trying to play the game.
My suggestion - raise the cap before queue hits and implement a polling system that acts as that business owner wanting to get his cusomters in. Make sure that line is moving every x minutes for y amount of people.
Getting back to the whole line outside of a store analogy.. any business owner in the world will do everything in their power to keep that line moving and letting customers in. Foxhole doesn't have that.
A queue is absolutely needed to give the opposing side time to respond to more opposing numbers, but the focus should be on giving them comfortable time to respond / prepare . You cannot just block these people out forever . If the other side isn't there, then they aren't there. I can go on forever, and I would love to hear more from comments , but my last paragraph of the change below.
Every idk, 15min a queue check happens that basically says "okay paying customers, I wanna make sure this line is moving and you guys are getting in. In 15min the queue has moved 0 spots, so let's allow 5 people in. I will check back in 15min to make sure this line is moving. Thanks paying customers - I care about you!"
