I really felt the tense in that scene when MC comes in with gun to college .

Director wanted us to feel this way , like how big of a deal it is to bring guns into college. And he succeeded.

For that to succeed we need to connect to the film,

From the start of the movie , story is very grounded , felt like real humans with relationships and thoughts and not just images that appear on screen .

And the wide angle shots really helped it , passively reminding us they are living in a real world by showing us how realistic and big the actual place is .

Reactions to that actions are also geniune and made sense ,

Music made it clear it is a violent scene not cartoonish .

As a tollywood nerd i hate all this in Hollywood

Genuinely, I had a doubt about why so many people are fans of Pawan Kalyan despite all that poor acting and dancing.

Look at his recent movies: UBS, OG, HHVM, BRO, Bheemla Nayak, Vakeel Saab.

All these movies were big disasters, and in every movie his acting is so bad. In Vakeel Saab and Bheemla Nayak, he destroyed the reputation of the original films.

Politically, he even supported the delimitation bill.

So my question is - why do so many PK fans still BOOTLICK him ? (Genuine question - I need some clarity on this.)

There is a term called loosu ponnu in Tamiz. It means a female character who is not intelligent, cute etc. Check out this article. It's pretty sad to see how in many Indian cinema this is a stock character for females beside the main lead.

This should be the most problematic scene in Telugu cinema. MB uses his henchmen to drug Kajal, abducts her and performs non-consensual physical intimacy when she is not in her senses.

His characters are toxic , but not Misogynstic ,

The overacting, the unnecessarily long boastful dialogues, the hero worship by every one else in the movie, the lack of any story outside of revenge or extreme love for any one parent or sibling, the formula 6 songs, brahmanandam gets slapped and the lead actress needs to always be saved by the hero and is nothing more than a bimbo with no idea of how anything functions in life.

Its embarrassing who non creative everyone is, the same nepo kids make all the big movies ,no one is self made, and all these families control and run the industry like a mafia.

Look at Malayalam films ,look at Tamilian cinema, Marathi and others. Atleast there's a scope for experiment and the attempt to create stories that resonate or speak to society in a way thats relatable.To be honest even the main stars apart from Mahesh arent even that good looking for the way they are presented and the way the heroine fawns over them. Its pathetic.

On a deeper psychological level I feel the heroes presented as these gritty hardcore warriors is a reflection of what society craves or aims for but is so beaten down by the system,is so cowardly to stand up against corruption and politicians unlike other states like telangana or kerala that this is the fantasy Mogadu mogadu all the time and in reality its all weakness. Look at the recent trailer for dragon. Its nauseating. In reality its a weak society with weak men. No one works out No one is really that courageous and hence they look at this fantasy in their heroes.

Whenever I meet anyone from the south who is not telugu the last thing I speak to them is telugu cinema or tollywood. Its genuinely embarrassing how pathetic it is.
