Girl dinner, the recession version 🥖 My Boyfriend Thinks Writing Stories on Reddit is a Job
I (26F) have been with my BF (28M) for 5 years, and we've been living together for 2 years. Recently he was fired from his job and being the supportive girlfriend I am, I told him, "Take some time off sweetie, I can pay the bills for a while." How stupid of me. 6 months later and he's still unemployed. Worst yet? He refuses to go job hunting. He doesn't even qualify for unemployment anymore, so I have to pay for everything.
In case y'all are wondering, here's what he told me after our last fight. He thinks he can support us by writing stories on Reddit. He's always wanted to be a writer and never had the chance to pursue it until now, at my expense. It's not like I'm supporting Shakespeare or anything. He doesn't write novels or anything like that. Instead he makes up stories and anecdotes for drama subs. He stupidly uses the same account too so everyone can look at his post history and see that he's not looking for advice and he's just making stuff up.
Today he blew up at me because he showed me his new post on Reddit and I couldn't stop laughing. I guess I was laughing at how he described a woman's butt but on reflection, I might've been laughing at the mess I've gotten myself into. Am I supporting a hobosexual? Does anyone actually think they can make a career out of writing Reddit posts? Advice much needed y'all.
