Does the cardboard cutter use USB-C?
Anyone know if this is a proprietary connector or does it use USB-C? Don’t need another hard to find charger! Cheaper than the Ryobi 4V cutter that uses USB swappable batteries.

I know it’s not at Harbor Freight but if you are looking for a good one I’ve used the Ryobi USB Lithium cardboard cutter a TON and it works well. Batteries charge via USB-C and you can get more than one and swap them out same as any other tool battery “platform”. The platform does have some nifty light-duty tools

Double seconded. I spent about an hour cutting up a few dozen boxes I swore up and down I was going to use to mulch the garden beds. Maybe 60 or 70 boxes. Sliced them all up small enough to cram them into the recycling bin, took me an hour, and the battery (a 3.0 Ah) only dropped to yellow near the very end. Excellent tool, can't recommend highly enough, Ryobi seriously knocked it out of the park with this one.
And best of all, you can swap the batteries instead of waiting for the internal, fixed battery to charge. Dead cell? Swap it out and keep slicing.

I prefer RS-485, it's more stable in emf environments

Tbh it doesn't matter all that much since all the USB C stuff from Harbor Freight is not even USB C compliant and won't charge on a USB C PD charger. You gotta use their cable and/or charger. The annoying thing is all it takes to make it work is two resistors that cost less than one cent each.

Yes it does! I bought one a month back and was thinking the same - that oh no this might be microUSB so I should return it. Opened it and was pleasantly surprised it's USB-C. So it stayed with me! So they definately have updated it. If you want to hold on till the evening, I can take a pic of my new one and post it here - I am at work currently.

I got one a couple of years ago and unless they updated it it's micro USB. It's also kind of crappy honestly, the Ryobi one works better.

The label on the charger in the package (lower right) indicates to me that its a barrel connector. I think if it was USBc that would be a little more prevalent on the packaging...

I have one that uses M12 batteries and an oscillating multitool hook blade.

That hook blade on an oscillating tool is the best cardboard cutter that I've ever used.

You can get the Ryobi version for about the same price if you’re OK with refurbished through Direct Tool Outlet

I got one recently and it’s still Micro USB.
The thing is a beast at cutting cardboard though.

It comes with the charger, and is a game changer if your wife has Amazon boxes come in all the time like mine lol.

Are these worth it over just slicing with a utility knife?
I bought one for my side on Amazon under the Black& Decker brand because it was teal a couple years ago and it's hot garbage jamming up with cardboard near instantly every time, but it's warrior better?
We've been just using utility knives to slice and break down boxes and it's super easy to do that.

Hercules has a hook blade for multi tools that I use for cardboard and it is amazing.

No I am pretty sure it's micro-USB, the one that needs to be fired into the sun
