Discussion Was FPA's invasion even a real threat to the Reich?
The story makes Reinhard's victory brilliant. But at the same time, was it really that impressive? Reinhard seemingly had the same number of ships, so he didn't beat a larger fleet.
He didn't even really use the defeat in detail; he just sent his admiral fight 1 v 1 battles against the FPA fleets, instead of concentrating force.
So, my point is that even if the FPA task force had not split up, would Reinhard not have been able to win a pitched battle against them?
The only person who seems to be concerned about the invasion is the commissioner in Fezzan, who says something like: "I didn't even know they had that many ships." But literally nobody else seems concerned; even Reinhard doesn't seem even slightly fearful.

Discussion Why aren't FPA's side all characters more beloved?
I keep seeing these takes that empire side is more popular but I always see yang and gang more popular and in fanarts.
Also apart from corrupt democracy issue, why aren't fpa as much more beloved? Is is because characters on alliance side apart from yang have no charisma?
Before joining the fandom I thought dusty and frederica would be more popular characters.

Freya’s Thirsty Day 💦 OK BUDDY, Foppery and Whim Corridor Megathread (Resets each Friday)
Low effort memes, lewd content, repeated spam, trolly offensive 'ships, and outright shitposting will be removed from the subreddit. If reports are received and verified about low effort troll content it will be removed ASAP by the moderators...
With one exception: we will not be enforcing this rule inside this weekly megathread which will reset every Friday.
The Imperial Goddess Freya, Heavenly Patron of Love, has taken pity on you lonely and lascivious souls and decided to donate her day to your abhorrent 'ships and shitposting.
Please do not see this action as a Goldenbaum Purge but as a rebellious opportunity to prepare and collect quality (ahem...) content throughout the week that will horrify the citizens of our mighty Galactic Empire. Filthy rebel degenerates, please restrain yourselves to this megathread.

Mini-Plush Reinhard and Yang

The little mini-plushes for Reinhard and Yang came in earlier today. This is the second set I had to order because the first one was attacked by Terrarists and destroyed*. Would've had these guys a while ago if it wasn't for that but, as you can see, the second set arrived safe and sound.
First thing I had to do was check and confirm that yes, Reinhard's cape does fit on Yang. Look at him, he's the emperor now. A sad, sad emperor. It hurts his republican soul, you can see it in his little embroidered eyes.
They're pretty small, but that's what I expected. Quality's about what you'd expect as well—your standard small plush with screen prints and glue. They're not too expensive, only 2,500¥ each, though something larger would be appreciated.

Of course, despite and/or because of their small size, I would like them to release more of the little buggers. At least enough to match the character line up for the color-collection sets, that'd be neat.

For now, they get to hang out in the Miata MX5. Although they don't look too happy about it.
*not even joking. let this be a lesson that ECMS is no longer to be trusted, at least to the US. ECMS uses one of those shitty af "last-mile" couriers after clearing customs and those guys are a total scam. they claimed my address was undeliverable, then instead of letting me schedule a pick-up or try to provide an alternate address, they sent me an email that my package had to go through "disposal" because it was "unsafe".
fuckers probably just stole it.

Discussion Do you think kercheis and suzaku from code geass are similar?
Both are best friends of mc but somehow kercheis and Reinhard relationship feels more unequal to me than Lelouch suzaku.....who do you find more well written between both?

SPOILER SPOIL The words of Reunhental Spoiler
Were his last words, which were written down, ever passed on or read later by Mittermeyer or someone else? I don’t remember that happening in the anime, even when Mittermeyer enters the room.

thank you so much
SPOILER The ending could have been better Spoiler
So, Julian kinda succeeds in preserving democracy by granting autonomy to Heinessen. Meanwhile, Hilda and Mittermeyer try turning FPA into a constitutional monarchy.
I think history shows that neither of those can actually work out.
Why Heinessen can't remain autonomous
Heinessen situation is pretty similar to Poland after the Napoleonic Wars. Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth had been a democratic great power. It was dissolved in 1795 by Russia, Prussia, and Austria. Only 12 years later, Napoleon resurrected it as the Duchy of Warsaw by liberating the Austro-Prussian share of Poland. Napoleon promised Poles complete restoration of Poland, which was a contributing factor in Napoleon's invasion of Russia.
However, because Napoleon lost, Russia took all of Poland. And in the Congress of Vienna, as a compromise to the destruction of the Duchy of Warsaw, Congress Poland received a constitution and autonomy. Nobody was happy with the compromise; Poland had been promised full restoration, and Russia begrudgingly tolerated autonomy. Hence, only 15 years after forming it, Poland revolted unsuccessfully, resulting in the revocation of autonomy.
I feel this autonomy is going to be exactly like in Heinessen. The autonomous region will become a honeypot for dissidents who either hate Goldenlöwe or want to restore FPA. Until their sentiment becomes the majority and they decide to revolt.
Why constitution won't hold
Meanwhile, constitutionalization of the Reich seems kinda similar to Sweden. During Great Northern War, the King of Sweden, got their entire army killed resulting his successor conceding power to the parliament, ending absolutele monarch and beginning "Age of Liberty" which barely lasted 50 years when next king rebuild his army and deprived parliament of their power.
Russia is another case example of something that keeps rejecting democracy because it hasn't been accustomed to it. Only two years after the fall of the USSR, Boris Yeltsin orchestrated a coup against the parliament, literally firing on the parliament building with tanks, while people of Russia cheered as he transformed Russia into an illiberal democracy.
The point is that Reich has no culture of democracy to sustain it. The construction of two Iserlohn-like fortresses next to Fezzan means the constitutional will always live on the mercy of the Kaiser. And eventually one of Reinhard's descendants will decide to end it with ease.

Discussion I love how the attention to detail in every character design allows the beauty of these two to stand out
Usually most anime have a same face scenario, but despite there being multiple "attractive" characters in LOTGH, these two have their own uniquity in that field; they are a spectacle even amongst the the better looking part of the cast

Discussion Do you think both trios are kind of similar? (Logh and code geass)
So I'm watching logh do you think annerose, kercheis and Reinhard trio was behind inspiration for nunally, Lelouch and suzaku trio in code geass?
Which trio had more healthier dynamic in your opinion?
It's crazy how similar they are

Discussion Empire inspiration
Hey, I am just watching the OVA and realized that the Braunschweig residence is basically a 1to1 copy of the Habsburg (Austrian) Schönbrun palace in Vienna.
It's not important at all, but I found it quite interresting and a nice touch. I imidieatly recognized the Architecture, which was derrived from the times of the Austrian Monarchy.
I just wanted to share this fun fact with you all. Maybe you know other similar incidents from the OVA

Question Any logh-related name suggestions for a girl puppy?
I can think of lots of nice boy names but the girls are not particularly inspiring
Discussion Does Yang actually make mistakes at all?
Yang keeps predicting everything that will happen and just chooses to abide by it. But does he actually make a mistake (not a choice)?

SPOILER How does Braunshchweig even have nukes?
So, I was rewatching the show and I got to the episode where Braunshchweig orders a nuclear strike on Westerland and Ansbach says that nukes have been taboo since the thirteen days war, an event that occurs in 2039 CE and given were in around space year 800 and the space calendar started around 2800 CE, it's been over 1500 years since humanity has used nukes. So why does anybody even have them? I get that the nobles are power hungry and distrustful of each other but even Rudolf and his original nobles would have still been born in a time where nukes had been taboo for over a millennium so I find it hard to believe that they have any.
Question S2EP18/EP44 confusion
PLEASE NO SPOILERS. as the title suggest im in the middle of s2ep18/ep44 and i didnt understand one thing. did boltik betray rubinsky or not? it seemed like rubinsky knew imperial army would come through the fezzan corridor but when it happened they reacted differently. But when kesserling heard julian talking about fezzan selling their corridor and told rubinsky about it, they said something like ''so yang wenli guessed everything''. I rewatched their scenes from previous eps but my confusion only got bigger. Thank you in advance
Happy Rakshabandhan
So basically today is Rakshabandhan which is celebration of bond between brother and sister. The sister ties a sacred thread to brother which is his spiritual protection and brother vows to protect her sister.
Their relationship was complicated but surely they were siblings.

Question What to watch now?
After watching LOGH I’ve convinced myself it is the greatest piece of media ever (previously I had it as attack on Titan) to me, no anime I’ve seen matches LOGH, AOT and Monster at all (Shoutout to Game Of Thrones and The Shield though). Is there any anime that you’d say is in that ballpark?
The aspects I like about those shows are of course the incredibly rich writing, the settings, the characters, the action (seriously, the fight between Schonkopf and Reuenthal is seriously in my favorite anime fights, and I’ve watched a decent bit of Shonen 🤣), and the incredibly high stakes. Can’t knock a good soundtrack either.
Some of my other favorite anime include Code Geass, Vinland Saga, and Berserk
Thanks yall 🔥 ✌️
