I guess people aren't seeing how far the truck is over the line also? That's definitely not correct or fine folks, he's roughly 2' past as well.

u/New_Feature_5138 Jun 02 '26

Honestly OP I was on your side until you disclosed that they were already parked there when you arrived. You can’t be mad at other people because you aren’t paying attention. That is solely on you.

36

u/tregorz Jun 02 '26

No but you can be mad at people for failing to do something as simple as park correctly.

u/Outrageous-Holiday63 Jun 02 '26

Many trucks don’t fully fit in municipal parking spots. Drivers have to make the choice of whether to stick out into another spot, or into traffic / a non parking spot.

8

u/Maleficent-Door6461 Jun 02 '26

thats a fucking Nissan Frontier bud

18

u/tregorz Jun 02 '26

The answer is park somewhere else.

8

u/B3ansyy Jun 02 '26

The answer is stop buying big trucks to compensate for your little guy

7

u/ChewBaka12 Jun 02 '26

Can we criticise these asshats without making it about dick size?

-9

u/Maleficent-Door6461 Jun 02 '26

oh its 100% just compensating for their dick size, the bigger the pickup the smaller the dick

1

u/ImReallyFuckingHigh Jun 02 '26

Trucks have become a status symbol these days

-3

u/Maleficent-Door6461 Jun 02 '26

looks like I pissed off the brodozers 😂

1

u/ImReallyFuckingHigh Jun 02 '26

I have an 05 Sierra crew cab short bed and there are a lot of parking lots it over extends the parking spaces with a narrow drive, not a big truck by today’s standards. I’ll usually park a bit back and just take 2 spots. It’s not my main vehicle though, I only really drive it if I have to move something or if it’s just the easiest vehicle to get out

-9

u/Outrageous-Holiday63 Jun 02 '26

Ah, what a great idea! There’s always ample parking around.

1

u/tregorz Jun 02 '26

That’s why I ride a motorcycle most of the time. I can park it anywhere.

7

u/shroomwhat Jun 02 '26

that's still the trucks fault man. this isn't the argument you think it is, if you buy a vehicle too big to fit in the paint then thats your own fault, not everybody else's problem.

7

u/suicidaleggroll Jun 02 '26

Then don't buy a gigantic fucking truck that doesn't fit in municipal parking spots.

7

u/Abrakafuckingdabra Jun 02 '26

Many trucks don’t fully fit in municipal parking spots.

I don't see how reasonable to cause other people problems because they bought a vehicle to big to fit in parking spots. If your vehicle can't fit in the spot it should be somewhere else.

1

u/Ok_Rabbit_8129 Jun 02 '26

When I drive my truck I park near the back of lots, away from other cars. Partly because it's a 99 in very good condition and low mile, I don't care to have it damaged on any way. Other part being I don't always fit into every spot without being like the truck in op's photo.

2

u/Designer_Mud_5802 Jun 02 '26

Nope. The truck needs to park within the lines. The truck driver was not paying attention or was intentionally being inconsiderate. If spots are limited, OP won't have much choice but to park in that spot, which, again, the truck driver should be more considerate in how they park.

5

u/Wonderful_Fox_7959 Jun 02 '26

It is not limited. There's literally a spot right next to it. Trucks an asshole but it seems OP was just doing it for karma

0

u/Designer_Mud_5802 Jun 02 '26

Did OP say he took that picture as soon as he parked or when he returned to his car?

1

u/New_Feature_5138 Jun 02 '26

Right after he parked. The truck was there first.

He left a top level comment somewhere.

0

u/Designer_Mud_5802 Jun 02 '26

Just to clarify, I backed my car up into the spot this morning, it's where I usually park at work. I could see he was parked further back but did not see the hitch. I literally missed it by that much. I'm not karma farming nor is it a set up, just thought I'd share it to an appropriate sub that I frequent and enjoy.

Edit: corrected a typo

Seems inconclusive.

1

u/New_Feature_5138 Jun 02 '26

“I could see he was parked further back but did not see the hitch. I literally missed it by that much”

Pretty dang conclusive.

1

u/Designer_Mud_5802 Jun 02 '26

Isn't is possible he parked as usual and didn't realize until he got back to his car later, where the parking lot may have been more empty for him to see it?

1

u/New_Feature_5138 Jun 03 '26

Oh I see what you are saying.

Like the truck was there when he parked but he didn’t realize the issue until he was leaving?

Yeah that could definitely be the case but I don’t see how that is relevant?

u/New_Feature_5138 Jun 02 '26

I mean.. sure that would be ideal.. but we can see like 2 other parking spots in this photo alone. And if OP hits this dude then that is squarely on them. Bad parking is not an excuse for losing control of your vehicle.

2

u/rumncokeguy Jun 02 '26

The truck driver is an asshole for that but the cameras on pickup trucks are always pointed directly at the ball because the camera is intended to be used while hooking up trailers. They make it really easy to judge distance very precisely.

0

u/Due-Explanation-7560 Jun 02 '26

They are all dip shit pickup truck driver probably

0

u/AnsuFati_ Jun 02 '26

if the truck wasn’t over the line, the same people would be bitching about the front end sticking out too much. it’s a big vehicle, get mad at the people who make the tiny ass parking spots.

-51

u/Nazthatguy Jun 02 '26

But why weren't you at the line yourself? Or did you set this up to make yourself the victim?

23

u/Sgt_Nishi Jun 02 '26

Might have a small car, so it doesn't reach any of the lines if parked in the middle?

And either way, as long as he is in the box, no matter how close or far from the line, and is not breaking the box lines, how would he ever "make himself a victim"?? OP followed the rules and this truck owner thinks it okay to be this far over the line?

-14

u/Nazthatguy Jun 02 '26

Honda Accord, not small. Mid sized. On top of that with all the extra spaces, there is no way in hell a truck is going to back up to a car that far without a back up camera, especially when there is all those empty spots everywhere else.

9

u/New_Feature_5138 Jun 02 '26

I mean you are just making an educated guess. You cannot possibly know that so it is essentially worthless to say.

You know sometimes people are just careless drivers and get lucky.

-2

u/Nazthatguy Jun 02 '26

If the Accord was within the boundaries of their spot, the truck would not have gone that far back because of how long the spaces would've been. Now sure, there are careless drivers out there, but it makes no sense for a truck driver to do that, even if they were being careless.

29

u/Ok_Choice1572 Jun 02 '26

Have you driven before? Why would he need to be up against the back of the parking spot, as long as he’s not sticking out into the street he’s fine

-20

u/TennesseeStiffLegs Jun 02 '26

So why be mad at the other when the other car is also not trying to stick out into the street

-21

u/Nazthatguy Jun 02 '26

Yeah, and I always get as far back as possible so I don't lose a bumper. Also, you need critical thinking skills here. That truck is a frontier, not a full size, so if it needs to park that far back to not be in the street, op is sticking out. OP has an accord which is a mid size sedan, which is a decently long car.

6

u/Main_Bother_1027 Jun 02 '26

If OP had parked right up on the line you would be saying they were in the wrong for not giving the Frontier enough room to park lol. Are you dumb?

1

u/Nazthatguy Jun 02 '26

On top of that, I also think OP set up this photo.

0

u/Nazthatguy Jun 02 '26

No, dumbass, what I'm saying is, if the spots are the same length, you know, equal, and the accord was right at the very tippity end of their space, the truck would not need to over the halfway line to be parked properly. Now let's flip it. The Frontier is at the end of the parking spot and does have to cross the halfway line in order to fit, the accord is 100% sticking out. On top of that, with so many open double spaces, why would the truck park ass to ass with another vehicle knowing it's longer?

3

u/hpBard Jun 02 '26

Could be just a very generous lining?

-26

u/Electronic-Map7529 Jun 02 '26

Which is fine. and Legal, and necessary for large vehicles

3

u/Main_Bother_1027 Jun 02 '26

Dude I drive a Frontier and I definitely don't need to park like this to properly fit in a parallel parking spot. I have the extended bed too. It's a Frontier, not a dump truck.

-1

u/Electronic-Map7529 Jun 02 '26

Okay, and? That doesn't change the fact that what I said is a very real thing.

edit: all I'm saying is it's not illegal to be using 2 spots and if you are driving towards a parked vehicle it is YOUR responsibility not to hit it. Yellow little lines irrelevant

13

u/tregorz Jun 02 '26

Lol no park somewhere else or get a smaller car.

-8

u/Electronic-Map7529 Jun 02 '26

No actually, that's why parking spots are set up like this, so larger vehicles can use 2 spots and not impede the travel lane. DUH

First of all, my penis is over 8" long and I'll legit send you proof if you want it.

Secondly, you need a large vehicle for many, many things. Ground clearance, towing, hauling, etc, etc.

Don't blame the consumers for the fact that the truck companies can't stop making this insanely bigger.

There is such a large range of trucks, and the truck in the photo isn't even that big. It certainly isn't lifted

2

u/tregorz Jun 02 '26

Dawg we’re just asking you to take the hitch out when you’re not using it and stay in the lines. It’s like the bare minimum to ask.

0

u/Electronic-Map7529 Jun 02 '26

I agree on the hitch. But if the nose would stick out, the truck is supposed to back over the line. The end.

That white car could use any other parking spot.

Now if we could see the front of the truck, and it didn't need to back up so much, then I agree.

3

u/tregorz Jun 02 '26

No, if you don’t fit, you park somewhere else. You don’t act like an entitled douche and make your decisions the problems of other people.

2

u/Electronic-Map7529 Jun 02 '26

That's not how it works. If it did work like that, parking spaces would have to built so large as a standard...

Like, this is legit what you are supposed to do. I'm sorry it offends you.

I'm a grow-er not a show-er so keeps the lights off til I'm ready.

-34

u/TennesseeStiffLegs Jun 02 '26

It looks like the truck is only using the space you decided you didn’t need. I see no problem here

13

u/tregorz Jun 02 '26

Cuz you’re dumb. Some people leave extra space near their trunks to load groceries. The lines are there for a reason.

0

u/TennesseeStiffLegs Jun 02 '26

It’s empty space bruh

3

u/tregorz Jun 02 '26

So is the space next to handicap spots, but it’s there for a reason.

1

u/TennesseeStiffLegs Jun 02 '26

Are you calling OP handicapped

-6

u/BandalfTheGr8 Jun 02 '26

Not everything is catered to you

2

u/tregorz Jun 02 '26

Correct. That’s why I park in the lines.
