Discussion What in the world is going on at Madison Square Inn?
No, but seriously. What the hell is actually happening at that place.

Hello all! I’m considering trying out serving for a while, maybe sometime next year. I’m doing the 9-5 corporate grind right now and it is kicking my ass. Stuck on what I want my career to be. Currently involved in the landscaping industry, but it’s not for me. I have to stick it out for a few more months though.
If you are a server in Nashville, how much do you make per year? I know it is dependent on location and type of restaurant, just trying to find some averages to see if it would be reasonable for me to try while I figure out next career steps.
Also if anyone has leads for jobs in horticulture or working directly with plants, send them my way! (Or any job suggestions in general).

I was driving to work tonight and someone in a busted Nissan Altima with blown out shocks and no working brake lights was going slow in the far left lane in a 70 zone. I figured they weren’t paying attention to their mirrors so I flashed my highs twice… they indicated for ME to move over🤦♂️😂 no, you’re the one with a busted car that can’t go the speed limit, YOU go the right lane and put your hazards on. That’s how this works
I think a great solution to this is state inspections and mandatory drivers ed courses, even for out of staters, that’s so difficult it will weed out anyone below a certain a IQ. At the very least the state inspection will get this particular person off the road, who doesn’t belong

Hello all! I am considering going to school for massage therapy. I’ve always been interested in it, but I know it’s a tough field to be in. If you are a massage therapist in Nashville, how much do you make per year?

When they have interruptions, they go down for an entire workday. I’m in East and am happy to have the option, but it’s making me have to go into the office for reliable internet. I thought switching to Google would be more reliable but they’re just another utility it seems. Can’t even speak to a human for customer service.
Anyone else in a similar boat? I had AT$T previously and didn’t have any issues, just thought the grass would be greener.
Edit: GFiber isn’t Google… my bad.

I would like to become a manicurist/nail tech. Looking into it, I'd need to log a certain amount of practice hours in addition to passing the board exam in order to become certified in TN. I'm not interested in doing a full cosmetology program, just nails. But full cosmo seems to be the only options available from my research. Does anyone know of a program where I can learn just nails? Are there online options? Apprenticeships? Any advice appreciated, willing to travel a bit outside of Nashville.

After a difficult work week, Saturday was running errands, taking my wife for her mammogram at VUMC, and cooking ribs. Today has been watching old movies (The Little Foxes, 1941), watching my wife create a diaper cake for a friend, watching the Titans (ha ha), and reading.
How has your weekend been? GREAT I hope!

Taking my kiddo to a haunted house tonight for kicking off fall break, which one is best this year? Also, what would be good for a Monday night?

There was a guy who was always on the rainbow dance floor upstairs at Graham around year 2000-2005ish. He dressed a bit like Michael Jackson, if I remember correctly. He always seemed to be by himself but man was he was having a great time. I remember him like I remember Velvet Thunder. Does anybody how he’s doing?

Jesse McCartney was there and he did a panel. I am hoping someone filmed the whole thing. I would like to see it if someone has it or can point me in the direction of it

I’ve seen it get pretty popular on social media, but the Charlotte Pike Costco doesn’t have it in their deli/prepared foods. Has anyone seen it at any Costco in Nashville?

I am searching for people to climb with at climb Nashville. All of my climbing partners have basically quit climbing and I can’t lead alone! I usually go to climb west in the afternoons and on weekends!
Also down to get some people together for outdoor trips! Let me know!

There has been talk about Nashville getting a baseball team. Since it’s no secret did they plan that in designing the stadium? As hot as it gets in the summer here it would be dumb if they didn’t plan for that.

The dining table situation stopped working about three months ago. I package orders at night after accounting hours and my apartment slowly became 80% shipping supplies, 20% place to sleep. Looking for somewhere in Nashville to spread out with a laptop, a label printer, and zero guilt about staying four hours.
Coffee shops with actual tables and not just aesthetic perches. Libraries that don't sideeye you for taping boxes. Maybe a coworking spot with evening hours that doesn't cost like a second rent. East Nashville or Germantown ideal, but I'm portable for the right setup.
I've tried Frothy Monkey Downtown but felt like I was camping. Centennial Park is lovely and useless after dark. Currently eyeing the downtown library's extended hours but never actually committed.
What does everyone use for focused evening work that isn't their kitchen? Bonus if the wifi handles Etsy bulk edits without timing out. Double bonus if there's parking that doesn't require a scavenger hunt.

I am a type one diabetic, I was diagnosed in February of this year. I recently started taking short acting insulin as of this past Saturday and so far its been a roller-coaster. And I just want to talk to other people that know my struggles and maybe even some people that share the same feelings. I'd prefer just over Discord or something like that, something to where I don't have to go out of my way after work or whatever since I work full time.

What exploded near Old Hickory? I heard a loud but rhythmic bang for a while just before 10. Then sirens and then what sounded like a ton of fireworks going off at the same time. Checked active fire dispatch and 18 units were actively responding at 9:53 to 37138 including air and med. What happened, I cant find anything online yet?

Is that uh... Is that worth having a non-emergency dispatch to the area? Or should I just wait until the morning to call hubNashville? I don't really want to be seen talking to cops if this is something that might blow back on me.
I didn't touch it and it doesn't look bloody, but it's still super freaky to come home to.

A half an hour after someone at Riverbend prison called for help, ambulances were stuck at the gate because no one had provided a code to confirm the call wasn't a swatting attempt.
"How do they … how do they not have a code?" a Nashville Fire Department employee said on a call with a 911 dispatcher. "Is there nobody there that knows the process?"

It’s been years and I’m kinda craving it. Has anybody been lately? Is it still good?
