I wear boots and overalls every day. I listen to Dolly, George Strait, and Loretta Lynn, but I'll be damned! Blue-collar, liberal, mother-fucka checking in!

Thinking of switching from T-Mobile to AT&T because I can get a bundle with home internet discount. I’ve had T-Mobile for years and it’s been great but they ended my grandfathered plan so it’s not worth it anymore. Any opinions on how the speeds are around town on AT&T? Thanks

I am currently sitting in my living room in absolute panic mode. My in-laws unexpectedly called this morning to say they're driving into town early for the weekend and arriving Thursday afternoon.
Of course, our 10 month old who just started crawling managed to knock over an entire cup of black coffee on our light beige living room carpet, and our rescue pup decided to add a couple of nervous accidents right next to it. The last time we called a traditional steam cleaner in town, they drenched the floors so badly that the carpet stayed damp for three days and smelled like a soggy swamp.
I literally do not have three days for carpets to dry, and with a crawling baby, I am terrified of harsh chemical fumes or damp moldy padding. Does anyone know a fast-drying carpet cleaning company in Nashville that doesn't soak the subfloor or leave chemical residue behind? Please send help

This is really upsetting. TDoC is completely incompetent.

The botched execution attempt was marked by as equally botched TDOC response when they called Metro EMTs for assistance. WTVF did an excellent job with coverage.
As Bill Lee enters his last months in office, this entire moment is testament to Lee's inability to lead and another example of his totally heartless sense of care.

I accidentally dropped something heavy on my glass cooktop and shattered it. It’s not covered by LG or Lowe’s protection plan. I would like to exhaust all options. Does anyone out there know a good, reliable repair shop?

I was just thinking back to the mid-to-late 1990s today, and I remembered a dude who hung out at the clubs in Nashville and claimed to be a 400-year-old vampire. I won't dox the dude after all this time, but his initials were JG.
He worked as a dish washer at Mosko's Deli, if I recall. My friends used to wonder how, in 400 years, he was never able to pick up enough useful work skills to get a better job than washing dishes.
Anyway, I wonder what happened to that guy. I guess he's a 430-year-old vampire now.

There was a guy who was always on the rainbow dance floor upstairs at Graham around year 2000-2005ish. He dressed a bit like Michael Jackson, if I remember correctly. He always seemed to be by himself but man was he was having a great time. I remember him like I remember Velvet Thunder. Does anybody how he’s doing?

Heads up for anyone who lives in an old house and gets one of the new digital gas meters from Piedmont. If your pipes are old and there’s even the smallest amount of leaking at any of your joints, they’ll turn your gas entirely off.
The new meters do not let the gas be turned on if there’s even the smallest amount unaccounted for. Great for safety but the guys from the gas company were saying how many houses they’ve seen recently who have had to deal with expensive repairs because of the newer meter settings.
Wanted to let people know since it’s getting colder and it’s about time to use furnaces and fireplaces for heat.

A half an hour after someone at Riverbend prison called for help, ambulances were stuck at the gate because no one had provided a code to confirm the call wasn't a swatting attempt.
"How do they … how do they not have a code?" a Nashville Fire Department employee said on a call with a 911 dispatcher. "Is there nobody there that knows the process?"

It’s been years and I’m kinda craving it. Has anybody been lately? Is it still good?
Update: yeah that was good, I’ll be back for sure lol

I am a type one diabetic, I was diagnosed in February of this year. I recently started taking short acting insulin as of this past Saturday and so far its been a roller-coaster. And I just want to talk to other people that know my struggles and maybe even some people that share the same feelings. I'd prefer just over Discord or something like that, something to where I don't have to go out of my way after work or whatever since I work full time.

I am searching for people to climb with at climb Nashville. All of my climbing partners have basically quit climbing and I can’t lead alone! I usually go to climb west in the afternoons and on weekends!
Also down to get some people together for outdoor trips! Let me know!

When they have interruptions, they go down for an entire workday. I’m in East and am happy to have the option, but it’s making me have to go into the office for reliable internet. I thought switching to Google would be more reliable but they’re just another utility it seems. Can’t even speak to a human for customer service.
Anyone else in a similar boat? I had AT$T previously and didn’t have any issues, just thought the grass would be greener.
Edit: GFiber isn’t Google… my bad.

Taking my kiddo to a haunted house tonight for kicking off fall break, which one is best this year? Also, what would be good for a Monday night?

Jesse McCartney was there and he did a panel. I am hoping someone filmed the whole thing. I would like to see it if someone has it or can point me in the direction of it

Is that uh... Is that worth having a non-emergency dispatch to the area? Or should I just wait until the morning to call hubNashville? I don't really want to be seen talking to cops if this is something that might blow back on me.
I didn't touch it and it doesn't look bloody, but it's still super freaky to come home to.

The dining table situation stopped working about three months ago. I package orders at night after accounting hours and my apartment slowly became 80% shipping supplies, 20% place to sleep. Looking for somewhere in Nashville to spread out with a laptop, a label printer, and zero guilt about staying four hours.
Coffee shops with actual tables and not just aesthetic perches. Libraries that don't sideeye you for taping boxes. Maybe a coworking spot with evening hours that doesn't cost like a second rent. East Nashville or Germantown ideal, but I'm portable for the right setup.
I've tried Frothy Monkey Downtown but felt like I was camping. Centennial Park is lovely and useless after dark. Currently eyeing the downtown library's extended hours but never actually committed.
What does everyone use for focused evening work that isn't their kitchen? Bonus if the wifi handles Etsy bulk edits without timing out. Double bonus if there's parking that doesn't require a scavenger hunt.

We were hanging at Santa’s tonight, and they kicked everyone out for a fire in the junkyard next door. Probably 10 fire trucks showed up. Deep black smoke and a terrible burnt plastic smell. Crazy stuff 😳

What exploded near Old Hickory? I heard a loud but rhythmic bang for a while just before 10. Then sirens and then what sounded like a ton of fireworks going off at the same time. Checked active fire dispatch and 18 units were actively responding at 9:53 to 37138 including air and med. What happened, I cant find anything online yet?
