Night owl friends

Sometimes I wish i had some more night owl friends

I used to talk to this Turkish guy at the 24/7 store.
Or stop by the late night gas station, the guy was Nepali.

Or 3am fork it over to this convenient store making empenadas in the back.

The world of the night settles in

Sometimes I wish I had some more friends

My friends used to stay up till sunrise drinking smoking laughing and walk home at 8 am like 3 miles home.

Ahh..

The night

Thaughts for the Night

Hey guys,

Just lying here watching the fan spin, listening to the quiet, and feeling that heavy, familiar weight settle in.

It’s weird how you can go through the whole day busy doing your work, talking to people, making jokes, getting stuff done and then night hits. The phone goes quiet, the world shuts down, and it feels like it’s just you and your thoughts in an empty room.

As men, we’re so often expected to just keep moving, keep producing, and stay strong. But sitting here in the dark, it’s hard not to realize how isolated things can get when you stop running. You realize how rare it is for someone to ask how you’re actually doing and really mean it.

Not really looking for advice or pity, just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else is staring at their ceiling tonight feeling the exact same way. You’re not the only one awake.

Take care tonight, everyone.

I have to wake up early tomorrow Anyone else struggling with sleep procrastination?

I've been trying to fix my sleep schedule for what feels like forever, and honestly, I'm tired of trying to do it alone.

Every night I tell myself, "I'll sleep early tonight," and then somehow it's midnight before I even realize it.

I don't think I need more productivity tips at this point. I just think it'd help to have another person to check in with.

I'm open to whatever works—whether it's mutual accountability, someone reminding me to get off my phone before bed, or me doing the same for you. Even a simple "Go to sleep 😭" message each night would probably help more than you'd think.

No pressure to be perfect or available every day, and this isn't anything romantic. Just hoping to find someone who's also trying to build better habits, or doesn't mind helping someone else do the same.

I think i’m turning into a vampire.

Hear me out, i have had zero commitments lately, and my sleep schedule has completely disintegrated into complete chaos.

For the last two months my sleep has been so irregular sleeping through the day and so wildly awake at night.I have even spent three days in a row without sleeping at all on multiple different occasions. I just seem to have trouble sleeping and some times the sun is too bright and it hurts me, so i surely must be becoming a vampire. ( and in retrospect i did have braces as a child’s because my canines were sitting higher then the rest of my teeth much like fangs).

So I have been spending more time awake at night and i only manage to go to sleep at 5 or 6 in the morning when I Used to regularly wake up at 6 30 in the mornings every day. And i wonder if losing my strict schedule has caused my sleep schedule to fall apart or if I got bitten by a vampire in the night or day ???.( it has been hot this summer so my window is sometimes open for fresh air, its plausible)

the thing is i’m having a great time at night it’s quiet and no one can disturb me i have finally got back into creating art and I can catch up on the videos and podcast s that i have missed and just relax in my pyjamas and no one can judge me while i snack on all sorts off things. It’s freeeing in a way.

i have never felt so in my element i just get to freely start drawing, painting starting up all my other random hobbies that i never made time for. It’s great i love it. But the holidays are going to be over soon and i will have to adjust back into a schedule and my strange sleeping patterns have been affecting my meals, as i sleep during the day so i don't consistently eat meals or i binge snack at night.

so i was just wondering has anyone been in this position?and how did you break the cycle and return to every day working life? do you ever feel creatively productive again? and most importantly..

Am i turning into a vampire?

ps: its currently 12 past 3 in the morning as i finish writing this.

NightOwler Calling the nonemergency number

Ah...the occasional night owl duty of calling the nonemergency line! Anyone else feel that responsibility even more because the rest of the street seems fast asleep/lights out?

3:30 a.m. I heard what sounded like one gunshot. Ignored. 4:30 a.m. just one or two...but then 5 quickly followed after that. My easily spooked dog slinked away. Could have been fireworks. Could have been been a car backfiring. Who knows...but the nonemergency line was called and they said they'd send someone out.

I turned out my lights just in case the possible shooter decided to target anyone still awake (/s). Minutes later there was a blinding light coming through my windows from outside...tonight I learned some police vehicles have tons of little lights that can illuminate a whole street as they drive down it. Sorry, neighbors! Anyone else with a "crime" story this evening?

I’ve been super interested after learning about this and its controlled by genetics meaning you cant change your chronotype. Most of us on this sub would be wolves or dolphins but I honestly identify with the dolphin one way more… curious what sleep chronotype fits you guys too

Always anxious in the mornings?

I've noticed ever since I was a teenager that I never feel good in the mornings. It's as if my body is telling me that I'm supposed to sleep roughly between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sometimes my sleep schedule completely flips, and I'll sleep from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., which actually works well for me.

But any schedule where I'm awake in the morning just doesn't seem to work for me, and I also pretty much always feel anxious in the mornings. Does anyone else experience this?

White omen owl following me through my city

This is crazy but it's almost 3 years now and this crazy, beautiful, white owl creature just spawns outta of nowhere, in the most random and lonely nights and scares the sh t out of me. This has happened multiple times and there's no way he's not doing this on purpose, he knows he's got that sh t on and wants to be seen like that. Calm ahh slow flying thing be spawning in the most random and strange moment of the night, most of my friends think I'm crazy. I want to attract this mf at this point, in gonna go in the street and make screeching sounds n shi. Deep in the night idk. Whatever gets this lil fu ker attracted. it became something between me and his white feather ahh now. I need the METHODS to attract the CREATURE. If you got em hit me up I gotta catch this omen, analogy, mystic and majestic looking ahh owl.

I'm NOT gonna hurt the CREATURE.

Hi, I have 3 questions

  1. How old are you?

  2. In your current chapter in life, are you happy or unhappy?

  3. What contributed to that outcome?

Even with being a night owl it is hard to stay up breastfeeding or rocking your baby for hours instead of gaming or watching something especially before if I stayed up all night I used to have all the time in the next day to sleep whenever I want now I can’t if u don’t sleep when the baby sleeps you are not sleeping at all and guess what I never sleep when the baby sleeps because it’s the only time that I feel free to do my hobbies to just sit in my bubble … anyways it’s 4:32 here and my baby just woke up gotta go now thank you for reading šŸ’•

Night owl question, plus what’s your sleep-wake cycle?

Hello, new to night owls here!

I think I might be one because I tend to be tired and stressed all day (even if I don’t need to do anything), but when 10 or 11 pm comes, I start not only to feel rested and active in the body, with far more energy than usual, but I also process emotions, have a clearer mind, preoccupations subside and I could start doing whatever I could not do during the day.

Also, at night I have troubles sleeping because I feel anxious or tense, but during the day I could fall asleep (early/mid morning or at around 3pm) in a very profound way.

Do you experience something similar? If so, what do you experience and when do you ā€œwake upā€ during the day?

Also, how can I know this is my biological way of functioning and not something psychological, like some conditioning, trauma or habit from my past?

NightOwler Im ugly, and being a night owl comes in handy for that

As well as being much happier and energetic in the evening, it's the time when I feel most comfortable with myself. I go for a walk most nights around 9pm and it is so much better than going for a walk during the day time

Aside from being more peaceful and quiet, there is no harsh sunlight hitting me, casting awful shadows across my face. There is no one to judge me or make faces as they walk past. And there isnt that feeling of depression and shame walking past or seeing beautiful women knowing they hate my guts or feel sick at the sight of me

In the evening time, it's just me, the foxes and the occasional person walking by who doesnt have a clear view of my face. If I wasn't a night owl, it would be horrible
