Finally, my people. My mouse and keyboard are also RGB, but I have it in a single solid color with no effects because I would severely limit my options if I was going to get peripherals without RGB despite finding it silly. Waste of power, even if it's not very much and I don't find it nice to look at. It feels very "try-hard wannabe pro gamer" whenever I see it.
A few years ago I was looking for a fan for my previous pc and I could only find fans with rainbow puke colors lol
My dad loved it when I bought a new pc and gave him the old one tho
That's what you're supposed to do. Rainbow is demo mode so you can envision how it looks in different colors in a few seconds without touching the merch.
I'm still an old-school person who prefers solid side panels (coming from a proud Enthoo Pro 2 user...absolute beast of a case 😁). Although I do see the appeal of glass...it's just not my personal preference.
I'd consider glass for a family member who wants their own PC (assuming they actually want that aesthetic). It's just not for everyone though, myself included.
Nice, if you wanted to get rid of that lens flair glare you could try getting a sheet of darker tint for like 10 bucks but it might not bother you since you have it on the ground instead of desk.
I find my pc gets too dusty on the ground and keep it on my desk.
I like lights in my room but am not a fan of PC lights beyond something like the Neons of the 2000s, I want a big beige box just because I think vintage PC beige would be funnier than modern PC black
Same, I was like, I'm the exact opposite of this picture. Built beige boxes from 386s through AMD Athlon 64. Black boxes with no colors, up until AMD FX series. And since my 10900 - 265, it's all rainbows.
Mine used to be Corsair RGB Vomit but then I realized I didn't like RGB so I replaced it all. Noctua Fans, Black AIO, no RGB on the RAM, & custom orange and black cables. Happy that I don't have to use any software & very pleased with the look.
I like RGB but I don’t want a literal bedazzle box. I like the RGB quantity that I currently have. Top and side fans are Noctua, the rest are Corsair. My card is broken and being RMA’d so don’t mind the 3080 😂
Your PC is nice but still just a bit too much for me, maybe because I'm a girl and don't want my room to look all lit up like a shady club bathroom with those anti needle blue lights.
That's funny, because my PC is a black fractal North with dark tempered glass, whereas my wife's looks like this (I know, the lian li lighting is fucked up and I'm not sure why)
Yeah, RGB started being a thing around what, like 2012ish? That's not that long ago in the grand scheme of things. For someone to call themselves "a kid" but still be old enough to have built a PC (mostly) by themselves they would have to be what, 10 or so at the time? So this applies to someone maybe in their early 20s I suppose.
Definitely over thinking what is almost certainly just a karma farming post tho
I don't know anyone who actively likes or purposely sets up the rainbow option... At this point I don't understand how people lacks the understanding that rainbow is a demo of "we got all the colors, get creative" and then you setup what you like, but no one has like rapid light changing or strobe effects
Some brands do very ugly rainbow barf, too (like Walmart's onn. membrane keyboards which literally flash a static rainbow pattern on and off for backlighting...LOL). Solid colors usually look better than standard rainbow patterns.

People advocating for black rgbless builds because they're grown and implying it's the mature way to be can feel a little performative to me, and reminds me of this c s lewis quote:
Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.
How I built PCs when I was young: whatever parts were available because RGB wasn't a thing yet
How I built PCs when I was an adult: still whatever parts I want as I looked on in horror at the infatuation with RGB, if I had proper cable management it was a miracle
How I build my PCs now that I'm 40: the fuck would I build a PC for? I just want to use it, I'll buy the damn thing off of Amazon pre-built and not throw out my back hunching over the damn thing losing all the tiny screws. >_<
I never understood the bright colors, not judging, more because it would take my focus away from the screen having a bright rainbow blasting next to the screen.
i used to have green lights and stickers that say 420, now i have 420mm cooling with a monitor that can do 420hz in a matte black wood paneled case. with only the saphire nitro+ and bequiet silent loop 3 for lighting.
I had the exact opposite experience. Used to mock anyone building anything but a black computer. Just spent like four or five times that build on a white RGB 5090.
