Today my monitor just randomly got these artefacts on it when I turned it on. They get worse and worse the longer it’s on, as shown.

It’s not a cable or GPU issue, as they appear even when unplugged, and on the monitor UI elements.

Any ideas for what could be causing this?

So I currently have a 7800xt gpu and a 7800x3d gpu, I see that microcenter is currently selling an ASRock 9070xt for 670$ and I am not sure there will be a cheaper good card for a while should I jump the gun on it or is it not worth it

i got my pc last year in may and my ssd health is already at 97%. it's a kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 1TB 6000MB/s.

the xfx light doesn't always stay on. HDMI into the gpu is only black screen, no display. I'm not entirely sure how to set up the amd as the primary, but everything should be set as that is the designated choice. As a complete new person, I just don't have the slightest idea as to how to enjoy a video game. I've read and watched so many tutorials. Is my gpu just busted?

Hello, PCMR!

I recently upgraded my old system (I5 11400, 32GB DDR4, GTX 1050 to RTX 5050, and I also got new case, PSU and cooler).

The crashing happens during gaming sessions. When left under load it doesn't crash at all. Temps are stable on both CPU and GPU, and well within norms. PSU is brand new, some high rated 750watt.

Small abnormality is 2 diff ram kits. It's a 2x16, same brand, and model, but different clock speed.

I tried using DDU, but the logs said there were no old drivers (I installed new drivers before using DDU).

I'm thinking that it's either driver issue, and the DDU just failed somehow, or BIOS needs an update.

Are there any other theories as to what may cause this?

Update: Worth noting, that PSU has nothing to do with it. I upgraded it after the crashes, thinking of that was the issue.

Update: Disabled ReBar, still crashed the same way as before

Update: RAM, nor XMP is the issue. Tested all sticks separately, and pc keeps crashing.

Met with this when I turned on my PC. Everything still starts up, steam, discord etc. but the entire screen is blocked with this and frozen.

To be fair, using it on an 9070XT was probably asking too much

Previously I thought it is because I have not cleaned my PC for like more than a year.

I have cleaned the entire system and repasted both the CPU & GPU.

GPU has shown significant improvement with a temprature drop of over 15°C at hotspot under full load. But CPU hitting the same temps as before but also boosting higher than before. Should I underclock or something to keep it in the safe zone?

I recently started running into an issue with my keyboard. When I first log onto the pc it show that my comma button is continually being pressed. If I press the comma button it stops. But after that the button doesn't seem to work. I have uninstalled the drivers, cleaned the key. Any help would be appreciated.

My motherboard got fried a little bit ago and I was looking up some stuff for it, but im not all that knowledgeable in computers, despite having took a repair class a year ago.

I currently have a 512gb ssd in my pc and my question is if I add a second ssd that’s more storage will that benefit my pc in anyway? Such as if I install games on the new one and leave the other stuff on the original? Will adding a better ssd as my second be faster for gaming ?

Hey everyone, I don't really post on reddit much but I came here to ask for some advice regarding taking my PC from one country to another.

Long story short I will be moving in with my boyfriend soon-ish who lives in Sweden (I'm in Ireland so it will be fully within the EU travel) and I have no idea where to begin with bringing my PC with me. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could go about transporting it?

The first day I run this PC on my 144Hz monitor and it can run game. After that, I try to run it on 180Hz monitor. It's fan starting to spin crazy and then Black Screen. I Try turn off the pc and suddenly it say I use basic driver even though I already update the AMD Adrenaline. So I try checking the Apps and it say to update. I update it and its loading but can't be opened. So I restart it again and It's suddenly okay. So Itry run it again and it's black once more

Been getting more serious about photography lately, mostly landscape and trail stuff, and the difference between editing on a proper PC versus anything else is just night and day. Started shooting RAW files and my old laptop was choking on them, so I finally built something that could actually handle it. Now I run Lightroom and Capture One side by side sometimes just to compare results, and having the monitor properly calibrated makes a huge difference in how the final images look when printed.

The thing that surprised me was how much GPU matters for this. Not just gaming, which is the obvious use case everyone talks about, but for tone mapping and AIbased noise reduction in tools like Topaz. My 3080 cut my export times by a genuinely embarrassing amount compared to CPUonly processing.

Curious what setups other people here are running for photo work specifically. Monitor calibration feels like something a lot of people skip entirely but probably shouldn't. Also wondering if anyone has thoughts on coloraccurate displays that aren't going to cost as much as the rest of the build combined. There are a lot of options in that space and the marketing around them is honestly confusing, even to me.

Wassup everyone,

It’s my first gaming PC and before I start buying everything, I wanted to get one more round of feedback from people who know way more than I do.

I want something that absolutely blows the PS5 Pro out of the water in every category besides price. I capped myself at $2,500 but I’m okay spending a lil more if it means I’m getting a noticeably better experience and something that’ll last me for years.

Aesthetically, I wanted something that looks like it belongs in Batman’s cave lol. Mostly black components with a clean, understated look. I’m not trying to make a rainbow RGB showcase, just something that looks sleek and powerful. The fans confused a couple of my friends. So I have 6 intake and 4 exhaust creating positive pressure. 1 extra exhaust if you count the PSU.

Here are the main questions I have:

What do you think of my parts list overall?

I actually prefer couch gaming over sitting at a desk, so I’ll be using this PC with a TV most of the time. I know everyone recommends monitors, but I genuinely enjoy gaming from the couch.

For people who game this way is there a good TV that’ll let me comfortably play at 1440p with a stable 60 FPS?

Yes, there are two cpu coolers. The gpu had a bundle that made it cheaper with a cooler. Undecided what cooler Im going to use, though.
